Yes, MySQL 8 was supported in 4.5 (it may have been 4.4 actually, I don't recall). PHP 8 support was added in 4.6.0.

You'll need to rebuild achievements like IPS did here. For larger communities it will take a while and be done in the background.

But this is why you should be testing this first, before upgrading a live site. People are told and told again. Test, test, test...

I think more update layout and design would be helpfully as well. That had this built into Gallery 4, 3, and somewhat in 2. They took out stuff that I thought would have worked but it was all removed in the end.

The release is currently in a "Soft Launch" phase.  If you "really" want to upgrade now you can create a constants.php file and paste the following php script in it:

Click on "Check for Updates" and you should get a dialog box letting you know a new update is available.  Please backup your site and read all about "Achievements" and other postings about this release.  There are many things changed, deprecated and added that will likely impact every site in some fashion or another.

I will leave it up to you to read through the release notes and various topics scattered about in regards to this release.  As there will likely be several 4.6.x builds there are always the chance that the next several releases will require software fixes or code be changed as a consequence of customer feedback.

This update hasn't yet appeared to me in the admin panel to be done automatically, even when I click to check for new updates. Does it need to be done manually or will it still show up? 🙄

Yeah, I'll be checking them out to see if we'd to use the new ones. Tech support got back to me very quickly and answered my question. In ACD>>Members>>Achievements>>Settings there is a big green button that says "Rebuild Members Achievements". It says that it may take days to restore....which is fine with me. 

Is it possible in 4.6 to link post reactions with user rank? For example, levelling to #10 unlocks a new post reaction unavailable to lower levels? If not can I put this forward as a feature suggestion please?

During the installation I was prompted to either use the new rankings, badges, achievements of keep the existing ranks. I chose to keep the existing ranks but it appears that it replaced them anyway. How do I revert them?

Improving PageSpeed needs a layered approach. There are many things you can do with your server configuration (Invision Community Cloud and Enterprise customers need not worry about this, our cloud platform is optimised already). Sending CSS/JS as gzip, ensuring gzip encoding is on, consider using a CDN to speed up delivery of assets, etc.

Software side, we continue to make improvements. We have a plan for re-engineering how javascript and CSS is compiled to make the file sizes smaller.

Just keep in mind that a community platform is much more complex than a simple website, or Wordpress site. A community platform deals with user generated content, which means dealing with external assets such as YouTube embeds, images, GIFs and more.

SEO remains central to our development plans.

Outside of PageSpeed, we continue to improve with JSON-LD, sitemaps and more.

It's live now and I note there has been no response.  I was told by the support team they would address speed, but I see no mention here.
Hell with it, I am gonna upgrade and see what happens.
