Ezoic are telling me to do this, but i cant for the life of me find this anywhere

    Hi Mark,

Wow, I've been experiencing "Error communicating with origin" lately and eventually Ezoic told me to enable Xforwarded for header.

Did you manage to enable this en IPS? Any idea on how to perform that?

    Cheers,

    Ibai

This is called the Record Image and the settings are in the database settings for each Pages database.

If you raise those values and upload an image that is smaller and web optimized, it will not touched/recompressed.

    Thanks man!

    I see this:

    Could contain: Text, Page

The Max Image dimensions, are bigger than the image that I upload (760x380px). Should it touch the image when I upload it?

  3. Hey @opentype thanks for your clear reply.

It's the Main Image (I don't know the name) for articles o databases the one that I'm talking about. I don't know if they have a maximum size or what.

I have every image upload disabled so no one can attach images to posts as my community is big and... my disk would collapse xD . But I allow to set images for articles and upload screenshots in Files system.

What do you think about those kind of images?

On the other hand, thanks for your experience. I dropped it to 90. The point is that when I post an article, I create the image in Photoshop and I already compress it before upload it to my community. That's why I was setting up it to 100/100. In your case, how do you perform in these situations?

This is due to 'JPG and WebP Quality' (ACP > System > Overview > Files > Image Settings)

I also think this is a problem as I understand when it reduces the quality if so set, but not when it increases beyond the file size.

It's like the system makes it 110% size.

Hum... I see, then seems to be a bug.

I have set up 100/100 of quality. Maybe it should just passthrough the image instead of "compress" it to 100%. It increases the size of the image, yes...

  5. Hi there,

I don't know if this is a feature request or a bug. The point is that lately I'm using WEBP images in my community. However, when I upload a webp image, it turns that instead of compress it uncompresses the image.

    I upload a 33kb image that finally weights 60kb.

    Any ideas?

  6. Hi,

I was wondering about a new feature for IPS. As a member, to have the ability to mark "things" (posts, articles, files) as favourite or just "follow" content. The point of "favourite" is that you could mark not only a topic but a post as well with this feature.

Afterwards, it would be interesting to have some area (maybe in your profile) where you can see a list of whatever you are following or marked as favourite.

This is interesting as usually I want to keep some topics or some files list somewhere so I can recall them and visit them just to read again how to do sth or to see is there is any update.

    What do you think?

  7. Hi,

I'd like to be able to choose where to show the sidebar. In fact, it could be interesting that we could customize the sidebar for each Category forum. For instance, when we are in TopicView in Support forum, I'd like to show articles from Frequently Asked Questions, etc. but in Marketplace, the last plugins uploaded. In fact, it would be interesting just to switch off the sidebar in a specific Category.

    What do you think?

You can’t access a user’s Pages database records with a query string.

The different database views are served via templates and those templates get variables with the data to be shown fed into them, like “records in this category”. There is no such thing for “records of a specific user”. Someone would have to code that from scratch. The MySQL queries, the templates, everything. It’s not a feature of Pages currently. The Blogs app however is centered around this concept.

Right opentype, thanks for your reply. I had this question and now it's replied hehe. No native way to perform this. That's right, I know how to build those queries.

On the other hand, what about furls? Do you know how can we create new type of furls so I can then get them translated to query parameters?

    Cheers,

    Ibai

  9. From this feature request, which is interesting, currently the IPS allows to set up a thumbnail. It would be nice that, just as WordPress does, there could be different image dimensions.

    • The original
    • Optimized to a set up size and quality
    • Middle thumbnail
    • Small thumbnail

Then, you choose which one you want to use.

For instance, for widgets, it should use the small thumbnail. Widgets currently use bigger images than they already need.  Picked up content would use middle thumbnail and the proper content, the optimized one.

The original would be saved just in case that you need full resolution or just if you want to re-create the "child" images.

  10. Hi there,

I'm developing a new section in my website through Databases' system. Currently we always have two views: Listing and Records.

I'd like to extend this functionality and have different Listings. I usually manage to do this via query string parameters. Like $mode=user&user=123 or $mode=default...

Is there any better approach to do this?

Is it possible to create custo FURLs for this idea? For instance:

    • /mydatabase/ -> default listing
    • /mydatabase/user/123-theuser -> I'd use this to show some user's posted content
    • /mydatabase/234-thepost -> record default view

    Cheers,

    Ibai

  11. Hey there,

I don't know if this is only happening to me. I see sometimes that the sidebar is "placing" slow. I don't know how to explain, my community starts placing only the content full width and then it "fixes" the sidebar to the right.

This is a bit problematic sometimes as my automatic Ads system (adsense/ezoic) thinks they have the full with and creates an ad with full width, pushing the sidebar more than the 100% with of my webpage.

    Do you feel this issue?

  12. Hi,

Great feature the Mail error log.

However, we only know that something went wrong. Could we get a little more information? Such as the returned error?

I'd like to know if it is because the inbox is full, because the account does no longer exist, because it's been rejected by some SPAM issue...

    Cheers,

    Ibai

  13. Hey there,

I'd like to start a feature request.

I usually set up nofollow in my community as I don't want encourage my users to add links. However, I sometimes need to add "follow" to certain links.

I'd like to have a set up for groups/members that may post with "follow". When they edit or post new content with links, they would not have "nofollow".

    What's your view for this?

  14. I was building a plugin/theme hook with this. Though I'd like to be native...

It's an easy plugin, I manage to get that image though I'm not able to add it to the <head> tag 😇. If I create a theme hook forum forumDisplay, I cannot get access to head tag from that template bit. Any ideas?

@opentype, I am talking about forum view, like this: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/forum/499-feature-suggestions/

    Edit:

May I edit metatags object from a web hook?
