  1. You should ask your ISP if the php.ini file is recursive when placed in the root. If not, then you will have to add the php.ini file to every single folder - and there's a lot of folders. Some just add it to a specific folder and the warning message goes away, but that's a sticking plaster on a gaping wound. Find out first if there is a way to make a single php.ini file recursive from your ISP.
  2. If you missed this in the ACP under Customization>Editor Settings you can choose to start a new paragraph with each return or go to the next line, which will omit that space between. If this is not what you're after then it needs to move on the IPS team to determine the mitigation 🙂
  3. It actually hurt my eyes. It's not normal nor natural and it appears that someone somewhere decided this would be a good idea and call is 'bionic' - sorry, I don't have bionic eyes and if I did I doubt that emphasising parts of words would improve my reading speed. I was actually very happy to reach the end of the text as it became painful at the end. Sorry, it doesn't work for me, but then I'm an old git and prefer traditional over modern 😉

    Lyrics

A quick couple of questions: Can you search for lyrics as you would an artist in the Music app and have those lyrics automatically added? Does the same apply to the video, is that added automatically? Or is the system designed for user input throughout, as in they need to find the lyrics and video? I would imagine the latter, but if it's former then this would be an amazing app indeed 🙂
  5. I had the same issue with my dark theme and light theme so it's easily corrected using a little bit of CSS in your custom CSS file: .SG_record_right_with_image { background-color: #ffffff !important; color: #000000 !important; } Change the background color to whatever you want, my light theme was a white background and the text color was black. So, background changes the color of the background and color changes the color of the text. Custom themes are a great way to enhance your eye candy, but they can throw up a few issues that need some outside the box solutions. Hope that helps 🙂 BTW @opentype your wares are brilliant and I use them regularly, fantastic work 🙂
  6. It would be useful to be able to set Sort By defaults from the menu options available - for example: If I wanted to set 'Highest Rated' as default click it and then have a save button at the bottom - this way it will always be the default when access the page. Why? Because not all sort by options are available in the ACP (whether as an oversight or whatever) having the ability to do this would be a boon for everyone wanting to default to a choice of their own. The image below is from another software:
  7. Hi Ralf How do you change the theme from light to dark? I can do this in the browser console, but can't find any templates or CSS files. <embed-root realm="music" theme="dark" data-dashlane-observed="true" class="root ltr music large" hydrated=""></embed-root> Gives this: As opposed to default: I have both light and dark themes so I'd like light on light and dark on dark. Other than that it works brilliantly. With thanks 🙂

I'd like to suggest that the tabs be rearranged now that Spotify have removed a number of features. I'd like to see the Albums tab as the first default tab with Biography pushed back a little. I think people are more interested in the albums so they can see what's available and also listen to them on Spotify (even the free account allows listening to some full albums). I understand that this is not a simple coding issue as quite a few elements need to be changed, but if this app is to be updated to 4.7.0 perhaps this would be a good time to rethink the tabs order. Does anyone else think this would be a good move?
  9. This is a hard nut to crack and get it right so that everyone benefits. There's two sides to this equation: 1) Not many people to sell to so make the price high to compensate for lack of multiple sales. Problem: Price too high and it makes the product unattractive to all buyers other than those with deep pockets, so it can be self-defeating. 2) Not many people to sell to so make the product cheaper and more attractive to many different buyers. Problem: If there are not enough interested parties then no matter how cheap the product is, it still won't sell, so the issue still remains self-defeating. There are many inherent issues with both of these scenarios, not least of which is (as Matt pointed out) Social Media is the biggest draw away from forums than any other medium out there. I feel for those who have been with Invision since the beginning and stayed loyal and who now feel as though they are being priced out, but what is the solution? In these scenarios you're damned if you do and damned if you don't; it's one of those horrible Catch-22 situations that can often be seen to be out of anyone's control. I also feel for the people who both own and work for Invision as this is their livelihood and they are seeing it slowly being eaten away and it is becoming increasingly difficult to entice people into the arena. That's my business head speaking. Now on the emotive side I really do feel as though the smaller guys and gals are being priced out from using Invision, but Invision are not buying and selling emotion and no amount of feeling towards sentiment will pay bills. As I started this reply with 'this is a hard nut to crack' it really is and I don't envy those having to make cold decisions to ensure survival. If I did have a suggestion to make, it would be to bring back an affordable and flexible cloud solution. I believe, and I may be totally wrong as their are no crystal balls available to see the future, this would be beneficial to all parties. Closing words - too cheap and you lose money, too expensive and you lose clients. A hard nut.
  10. How about adding a special forum type that can be used as a top feature that users can vote on, similar to how people can vote on questions and answers. This can be used as a top ten, top twenty, top whatever and the positions shift in an ajax fashion when voted on. Great for music, movies, games, books, toys, clothes, shoes, you name it. It would be an asset for user interaction and may even compel some people to register so they can vote. People love voting, that's why Ranker is so popular. The feature is already there after a fashion and just needs tweaking to make the adjustments for a top whatever. Thoughts?
  11. No! If you don't mention new features then no one will know about them but, as @opentype mentioned in an earlier post it may be prudent to mention in the topic title who the new features are aimed at so as to avoid ambiguity and to maintain transparency - personally I feel that would help mitigate some of the angst and disappointment that some people are feeling. There are two distinct tiers of clients, cloud and self-hosted and topics should be highlighted as to who they are aimed at. I understand some of the in's and out's and whys and wherefores' of how some of these new features operate and what they need to do so and they're not always going to be something self-hosted are able to leverage. I believe what we are seeing with IPS is both revolution and evolution in terms of the product and the company and where it's heading. I can't say that I agree with either stance fully, but do understand why this is taking place. My only real big beef is the pricing structure of the cloud offering, which goes way beyond most hobby orientated clients. Businesses (depending on the business model) could take advantage of the cloud offerings and suck up the price depending on whether they see a ROI and how deep their pockets are. But over a thousand dollars a year for a hobby site that may or may not take off, that's a big ask. I would have thought these new tiers would have sat alongside the existing cloud offerings, not replace them, and be aimed solely at the business market. There should be an entry level cloud offering so people can test the water, so to speak, and then move on up the ladder if their sites take off. That's my own take on the matter. I have a feeling that at some point IPS are going to price themselves out from the smaller client's ability to pay and at a time when we are in a world cost of living crisis and money is tighter than ever, it may not have been such a smart move at this time to whack up the prices. Whilst the future may be with the larger Enterprise and Corporate clients, it's best never to forget your roots 😉
  12. It is tricky, but doable so that other elements are not affected - which is where the imaginative part comes into play. I've done this loads of times and had to think outside the box more than a few times to drill down to what I needed and where. I like your idea of the wrapping the element in a div as it makes it simpler to style the div, but that's not always an easy ask for people who don't code. Using the new page builder blocks sure makes it easier when you know how to code as everything can be added in the box elements independently, but again you need some understanding of code.
  13. I've faced loads of issues similar to yours and the only way around it is with some imaginative CSS code added to the custom CSS file. I'd need access to your page to see what CSS is needed (not admin access, just access to the actual page) 🙂
  14. This was not an issue before updating to 4.12 and if this is new in 4.12 why would it apply to Admins? Subscriptions are required on registering but that is all. Is there a setting anywhere to state what groups are required to have a subscription? This is not what was expected. More help would be appreciated.
  15. Have updated to 4.12 and now I am faced with the subscriptions page that will not move - that is I cannot access any other pages from the menu as it always reverts to the subscriptions page. I cannot sign out as it keeps reverting to the subscriptions page. I cannot use the blocks menu as it keeps ... you get the picture. If I'm not signed in there is no issue - I've cleared the caches and there is nothing showing in the support as anything untowards. All applications are up-to-date. The issue is only present when signed in, but once signed in it's impossible to sign out. Any help would be most appreciated. This is the page that is constant:
  16. @Malwarebytes Forums It's there right at the bottom to the far right of the screen (assuming you are using a desktop monitor):
  17. @Marc Stridgen many, many thanks Marc and for your support and patience, hopefully this will be sorted soon 🙂
  18. Just bumping this up to see if there have been any thoughts on how to address this issue which is hindering the Chef's Union and those wishing to sign up hitting the issue of 'no payment methods available'. The issue appears to have occurred after an update, whether this was to 4.9 or 4.10 is uncertain. Any update would be most appreciated 🙂
  19. @Marc Stridgen That's correct I logged out, otherwise the system would bump me lol. My client tried the same logged out using different details but from the same IP so that bumped him. There was another guy attempting to sign up and he was in the UK and he was getting the same message, however, because of multiple attempts to register the spam defence log has noted him as a 4 and he can't register at all now. This is a terrible issue as it is causing a lot of problems for people wanting to sign up, not to mention the lost revenue. This appeared to start happening when the site was updated to 4.10 - it's now on 4.11 the latest and the issue persists.
  20. @Marc Stridgen hey Marc can you check your PM as this issue is still persistent and no one can register. I've attempted to do so myself using my mobile, disconnected from my WI-FI so the IP address is not recognised and I get the same message. A few others have attempted to register from the UK and they have the same issue. With thanks.
  21. @Jim M have added you Jim, thanks for taking a look 🙂
  22. Hi @Marc Stridgen this issue has cropped up again with someone trying to subscribe using his mobile phone in the UK and also using a computer (two different IP addresses) and the same error is occuring in that no payment methods are available. Could you take another look please - you have my login details that I sent you in a PM. I have tried to register myself from my mobile phone using dummy details (but legitimate) and I have received the same error message. I've checked and double checked the settings and everything is as it has always been. Many thanks for your help.
  23. Situation is resolved - details are intricate so I won't go into them other than to say neither the IPS system or Skype were to blame, so all is good and other subscriptions are continuing as usual. Many thanks again for your time and help 🙂
  24. Yes, that eventually sunk in lol. I'm getting loads of texts and phone calls from the owner and I've just relayed the fact that the IP addresses are not UK ones - I'll update further when I find out more as I can't associate those IP addresses directly to the individual, but the times are so close that it can only be him. Takes a little while for things to sink in when I'm under fire and have loads of things to do myself lol. Thanks again, much appreciated.
