Sorry, the tag option to mention other users is free to use by everyone. Please don't get mad at me! I did nothing wrong. I asked you about what you were doing, and you never replied. That's why. I won't tag you again, don't worry! If only you had replied to my previous message and other members about this, I wouldn't have tagged you. Have a nice day.

I wouldn't jump ship just yet, Invision has a lot of cool things they are working on. XenForo is like an old Prius, it was cool when it first came out, but now it lost the appeal but still serves a purpose. You need to think long term for your community. Invision has remained the most consistent community platform provider out there.

Kellen Deming reacted to Lindy in IPS Cloud - downtime on 21st March
We share your frustration and I assure you that although this is the first major outage event in years and we have a solid 99%+ record, we are taking this very seriously and have already taken both internal and vendor related steps to minimize the risk of this happening again. We have also made improvements to our status and communications system so you remain better informed throughout these unlikely events.
I'm deeply sorry for the inconvenience this event has caused. Cloud clients with further concerns are welcome to send a support email and we will be happy to discuss.
    Thank you!

Kellen Deming reacted to David N. in IPS Cloud - downtime on 21st March
6 hours of downtime is simply unacceptable. I'm a huge fan of Invision, love the amazing software they develop and maintain for us. But when I pay 150/month for a hosted service, I expect more. In 20 years of being self hosted on inexpensive shared hosting services, I've never had more than a few minutes of downtime at a time.
The fact that Invision relies on AWS and that the issue may lie with AWS is irrelevant to us, the customers. As a professional, if I can't deliver a service to my customer because Invision is down, I can't charge my customers. If my forum is down, I can't earn revenue from ads. I can't just tell the customers (or the ad network) "it's not my fault, the software cloud service I'm using was down" and continue to charge them the same amount. I have no choice but to take responsibility and suffer the loss in revenue and reputation.
Invision should  take responsibility here, offer $ compensation to paying customers, and deal with whatever service providers they use on their own term. As Invision customers, that's not our problem.

Kellen Deming reacted to Jordan Miller in Hump Day: 4.6.0 soft launch 🤫
Happy Hump Day, fam. Today's a big day (I know I always say that every Hump Day but... )
    *Says in a whisper* We've officially soft launched 4.6 🤫 🎉
It's a soft launch because, well, you know how things can go 🔥. However, we're pretty darn satisfied with this rollout. Possibly The best ever. A more formal announcement will arrive in the near future.
Right now, 4.6 is available for those on Cloud or those who've tested out our several Beta releases.
In case there's a glitch in the matrix, please make a backup of your community before upgrading.
If you need a refresher, @Matt laid out what is new in 4.6 in our latest blog post.
Speaking of, I asked our Director of Development to share his thoughts on this release:

🥲 In regards to 4.6, Matt said Invision Community "continues to build on its stable community platform by adding multiple new features."
Some of these include "anonymous posting; ideal for mental and physical health communities that can now allow their members to post questions anonymously, no-code integration with 3,000 other apps with Zapier, better mobile support, improved solved topic functionality and the brand new achievements system designed to nudge and reward good behavior and content."

"This release elevates your community experience with Invision Community significantly through multiple touch points."
We hope you guys enjoy 4.6 as much as we do!
Bringing this plane home... Since it's tradition, here are a list of updates since Beta 3 was released last week:
    - Fixed an issue where the expiration date for a Member Subscription would not update when editing the subscription purchase.
    - Fixed an issue where PayPal Billing Agreements / Subscriptions may not charge the correct value for sales tax.
    - Improved performance when generating comment widgets on large sites.
    - Fixed an issue where adding a theme setting to a parent theme didn't update children themes with the new setting
    - Fixed an issue where the SQL Toolbox couldn't display query results
    - Fixed an issue where the register button in the checkout process didn't open in a new tab if redirect registration is enabled.
    - Fixed an issue where the full upgrader would show an empty error box.
    - Fixed an issue where moving members after searching on a freeform custom field could return incorrect results.
     - Fixed an issue where online/recently browsing counts can be incorrect.
Thoughts on the official launch of 4.6?! Drop us a line in the comments. We'd love to hear from you!

Friday? Booo. Saturday? Blahhhh. Sunday? Who needs it!
Welcome back to another fine edition of Hump Day, the best day, and today's is a doozy.
    We've officially launched 4.6 Beta 3! 🎉
It's available for download or per request if you're on Cloud.
We're pretty confident things will be stable, but don't take our word for it; please make backups before updating.
The official release will make its red carpet debut in the very near future.
What's changed from Beta 2 to Beta 3? @Matt passed along these changes (see below). It's worth mentioning these updates are our new team members, @Christopher Pei and @Marshall Slemp, first bug fixes. 👏
Fixed an issue where Weekly and Monthly Email Stats were not displayed correctly Fixed an issue where CSV downloads were limited to 25 rows. Fixed an issue where editing a Link for an Image would not save. Fixed an issue where images added to a Custom Email were not showing up in the email being sent to the customer after a purchase. Fixed some spacing issues with member lists in various blocks. Fixed an issue where adding a theme setting to a parent theme didn’t update children themes with the new setting. Fixed an issue where the database checker may show un-needed database changes. Fixed an issue where an invalid “oembed” widget plugin type would appear when creating a block. Fixed deleting a widget not using JSON_PRETTY_PRINT for the widgets.json file. Fixed an issue where Achievements rebuilding would not finish Fixed an issue where Achievements badges would show in the hovercard during a rebuild. Fixed an issue where changing an authors name from anonymous would not reset the “is_anon” flag Fixed an issue where some ajax content was indexable by search engines Fixed an issue where badge counts could be wrong

I know, that's a lot of awesomeness to absorb.
What are your thoughts? Have you been using any of the Beta releases thus far? We'd love to hear from you in the comments!

Happy Hump Day, fam! Before we dive into the goodness, I just want to say thank you for being a part of Invision Community. It's been really fun to see community members and the IC team become even more unified as we've rolled out 4.6. 🥲
Speaking of...(!!!) 4.6 Beta 2 is now live! 🎉
It's worth reminding you this is the third Beta version (it follows Beta 1 and Beta 1.1).
We collected a roundup of changes needed and spent the last week implementing updates.
Not only did @Matt write an epic blog post about what you can expect to see in 4.6, he also relayed this list of fixes 🤯
Added a no search results message when searching Pixabay and Giphy. Added truncated views for status updates. Added a new check to make sure a datastore method is working before using it. Clarified that a template must be saved when editing template variables/attributes. Fixed an issue with an alert message not showing when selecting ‘Administrators’ as Secondary Group for Members. Fixed an issue when an anonymous online status doesn’t persist across logins when using button log in methods. Fixed an issue where it wasn’t possible to grant access to the email stats page to a limited Administrator. Fixed an issue where the Standard login handler title isn’t saved on edit. Fixed some admin control panel live search results linking to the wrong page. Fixed an issue where text when using the visual language editor could be white on a white background. The last post date in fluid view will no longer extend beyond the browser width on mobiles. Fixed an issue where JSON-LD data was badly formatted for Question/Answer forums or when “Enable Solved” was enabled. Fixed an issue where phrase searches containing stop words could return no results. Added an option for members to cancel expired subscriptions to be able to purchase another subscription. Fixed an issue where PayPal Billing Agreements / Subscriptions may not include sales tax. Fixed an issue when approving a held Stripe transaction if the payment has already been captured. Fixed an issue where an empty donations page was visible creating a soft 404.

4.6's official release date for all is set for the first half of June.
Beta versions are available for Cloud clients (by request), or can be downloaded if you are self-hosted (proceed with caution and please make a backup!).

I like where your head is at! Yes, we will definitely be taking a look at the Help Guides and documentation, but not in tandem with the website revamp. We will need to sit down and focus solely on that project in the near future as it'll be a relatively big (but awesome) undertaking. This feedback is valuable though thank you!

    Hey all, Happy Hump Day!
@Charles and I joined forces here in Las Vegas this week because we're planning something super exciting. 🤐😎
After 4.6 rolls out, we're focusing on freshening up our homepage/subsequent pages and match that branding with this community. That may or may not be an understatement, but if there's anything to take away from this teaser it's that there some slick visual changes on the way!
If you guys have any websites/homepages which are clean & minimal that inspire you, we'd love for you to drop some links in the comments. We already do have a firm idea/concept planned out, but your opinions matter to us! We'd like to hear from you.

Hey team, another fine Hump Day is upon us.
A couple orders of business before we dive into the latest round of 4.6 fixes and updates:
1.) Have you voted in the Star Trek vs Star Wars poll? V V important.

2.) We'd love to feature your community! In case you missed the giant green bar at the top of the page (😆), check out this topic. We want to showcase your wins and successes and hopefully entice others to join Invision Community. If you feel a little uncomfortable to write a few sentences out for whatever reason, please reach out to me. I'd love to help you. 🙏

4.6 (with Achievements) is most definitely still in the works, as is a Live Q&A for you all to participate in (more details on that to come!).
Here's our weekly roundup of new fixes:
    - Fixed an issue where uninstalling an application wouldn't delete the associated rss feed import data.
    - Fixed an issue where deleting a database wouldn't delete the associated rss feed import data.
    - Fixed issue where poll choices are cleared because poll question title is empty on Edit Topic submit.
    - Fixed an issue where topics marked manually for unarchiving would not be processed.
    - Fixed an issue where banned members could see that there are announcements, but could not read the announcement.

Kellen Deming reacted to FZ in WHMCS - The Opportunity Invision Might Just Miss
One of my sideline gigs is to sell website hosting to help me pay for the server that my Invision community needs to run on. To manage that side of things I opted to use WHMCS to help me with the billing and it's been fine. I also tried using the built in Invision Servers feature which does a similar thing and it integrated pretty well with my WHM/cPanel software.
However WHMCS has now gotten greedy and they are now charging their license out based on the number of active clients each of their customers has. They are introducing changes on 1 July that have upset a LOT of their loyal customers, myself included. So I thought I would look at migrating my client base from WHMCS to Invision, but I see that there is a message in ACP advising that the feature is deprecated in 4.5 and will be removed in the next release.
This is sad because there is now an active need for a good solution for web hosting billing and this might be a great opportunity for Invision to provide that solution.
Maybe management can provide some input as to why they are removing it?

Kellen Deming reacted to Linux-Is-Best in CKEditor 4 end of life - alternative editor consideration
CKEditor 4 is reaching the end of life (source). Instead of jumping onto the CKEditor 5 bandwagon, I propose Invision consider an alternative editor. There are many well-established modern editors such as, for example, TinyMCE, Froala, Quill, and Redactor, to name a few. Any of these would make satisfactory alternatives.

CKEditor may be 'old school,' but it has become bloated, larger in file size and load time.  Most of the issues it encounters often have to do with responsive layouts on a mobile device and excessive load time. As mobile continues to dominate the landscape, I feel it may be prudent to focus on an editor development that has kept up successfully with the times with the least issues.

Changing the editor should not be expected in the next release. But a roadmap should be considered for a future transition.  Thank you for your time and consideration. 😀

Kellen Deming reacted to Adriano Faria in Job Board App ?
Ok, let me talk about this a bit more. I abandoned the development a couple of months ago because it was very difficult to try to reconcile the interest of all the people who were participating with suggestions. Too hard. Everyone wanted the app to work according to what was best for their forums. This makes development impractical. So I quit. But I continued developing it as a marketplace resource and it will be available on marketplace soon.
Here goes some screens of the app (please bear in mind that this is still in development and things can change, especially layout):
    - Job Opportunity view:

    - You will be able to create multiple application forms in the ACP:

    - You can add as many fields as you want per application form:

    - Each form has its own permission:

    - So users who are creating a job opportunity will be able to use only forms available to their groups:

    - The application form when the user clicks in APPLY!, based in the application form chosen when creating the job opportunity:

    - Adding a job opportunity:

You will be able to use Commerce in the application (charge for job opportunity submission).
    Should be available soon!
