  1. CodingJungle's Apps [support topic]

I've sent you a PM that contains 2.6.2.1, that should fix the white screen issue that 2.6.2 can cause on certain servers. this should also correct any connection issues being caused to the service.
  2. CodingJungle's Apps [support topic]

if you are running 2.6.1, it might not fully work with the changes done to the babble script. as for this problem you had with the upgrading, was there any errors or just a white page? can you check your servers error log and see if there are any in system->support->system logs. i haven't seen this yet and i upgrade about 5 sites last night to 2.6.2
  3. Custom Email Wrappers

    Great plugin!
  4. CodingJungle's Apps [support topic]

yes it is coming soon and it will have the user store banner option.

This applies to both the IPS default menu and CJ Menu (as long as the menu item is type application and linked to babble and the permissions are set to use the apps permissions), go to System->Application, find babble in the list there, and click on the little arrow besides the babbles name, it will populate with another row called "Babble" and click on the lock icon, and you will be able to set the permissions there. if you use cj menu and use the attach category feature for babble, the menu will follow the rooms permissions, but the parent item will use the module permissions.

    I just use the blankTemplate instead of the globalTemplate, but babble is design with a solid colored background. however you should be able to style it, in your customs css add: #elBabbleMainContainer { background:#fff; }
  7. Can we get some love for Commerce?

i am not aware of the "associated" security risk translatable would impose, cause it really isn't any different than allowing user created content like topic titles/bodies/posts/comments/etc imho. i would say opening your ACP to sellers would impose the bigger risk than allow product creation to happen on the front end, how would you prevent them from messing with others products, if they became competitive or at worst vindictive and if you lapse and forget to set the restriction for newly added apps or a new section was added to nexus, they could have access to that and you wouldn't immediately know it. but i'm sure a vetting process of some kind would be used at this point, to only allow the most trusted into being sellers (which could drastically limit the types and quantity of your sellers too). but then again, i can add paid downloads on the front end in downloads, so the argument imho about "security risk" is diminishing. since there is no replies from IPS on this in over a week, i'm guess i am gonna begin modification to commerce for my needs
  8. Can we get some love for Commerce?

i was thinking about them, but i don't use ad's. i would like to see a way that existing blocks/widgets on the page, can be "sponsored". like they pay x amount for a week/month/day/etc, and the block is display with a "sponsored by xxxx" and a link to their site or whatever, and then at the end of it, it can be autoconfigured to remove the block/widget or just remove the "sponsored by". like activity streams could have this done, as i imagine a lot of "eyes" are looking at it a lot of the times.
  9. I find commerce to be a useful, but frustrating application. it has a ton of potential just waiting to be baked into it, but is weak in so many spots, that i don't even know where to start. so this topic is two fold, i would like to hear what future plans IPS has for it before i start modifications of it, and i would like to also hear what others would like it be capable of. what i'd like to see: adding items from the front end more widgets (like top selling products, new products, etc) integration with a hosting API like digitalocean, digitalocean has a pretty clean API. digital goods (you can still make downloads required, but allow the product itself contain the download versus me having to maintain both apps on my front end, when i really only have them cause they are incomplete without each other imho). push notifications (there are several fine api's out there to handle push notifications, so i would like to see either the suite adopt 'em or at least commerce like for purchases) Questions and Answer section (comments aren't good for this, cause its just a wall, with a questions and answers like a mini-forum, you have the question and then the answers). better license option - most of the time the standard license is enough for me, but instead of making that the identifier for it, they become the algorithm and we can define the key for it, cause i have a few different ones for different apps and products, and they are all based on the standard one, but i have to create and upload a file each time i need a way to separate them. once a key is activated, have a way in the ACP for me to insert and/or change the extra data that we can pass to it. right now, there really isn't a way to do this other than to do a DB edit or regenerate the license key and then have the person "reactivate" it. customers - it would be nice to be able to access their purchase history from the front end, as a lot of time i'll get a PM about something and i just want to do a quick check to see if they are active purchaser, and i have to login into the acp and then go find them, many extra steps for something simple imho. auto create support departments - it would be nice from the item itself, i can select that purchasers can use the support system, and then an option to have a department created specifically for for this item, and then like auto assign to a person/group from there as well. I have more, but they are more than likely things i will need to implement on my own, as they are specifically related to selling apps . if i come up with anything else, i'll be sure to post it, but i would also like to hear what others wish commerce was capable of and as well from IPS on future plans for the app.

I am working on a new version of it, i've had reports that delete doesn't currently work in the acp/modcp.
  11. QOTW: Name the one thing you cannot live without

I would have to say "air"
  12. Babble: Real Time Chat

the problem i see with this, babble is mutli-room, and each room can have its own permissions. you wouldn't want the counts from a room that only say admins can see and use, to appear in the total, and then when they log in they are the only ones in the "public" room(s). I really wouldn't want the additional headache tbh (as i already have people who complain that the room and menu count are different, but then i explain to them that if they have multiple rooms, the menu count is a total of all rooms, not just the room you are in). I'll see about putting in a setting for the room to display it in the menu count regardless of the permissions.

i can't reproduce this on my local or my live site using dplus, so if you could send me in a PM a link to your site and an account i can use to test with. i'll try to debug to see what could be causing it.
  14. QOTW: What was your first computing memory?

Mine was a commodore 64 that i got in '86 for my bday (i'm still angry DAD, i had asked for a NES! got that for xmas tho lol) but i'm glad he did, i learned a lot about computers from it (oddly enough not a whole lot about programming lol). I had scratched my initials into the back of it, with an infinity symbol (cause i was obsessed with the concept of infinity when i was a kid). sold it at a garage sale in 92 when my dad had gotten me a second hand macintosh. then years later, around 2012 i was at a salvation army thrift store with my sister, looking around. saw a shelf filled with old computer parts, and found a few commodore 64's and when i flipped the one over i found my initials and the infinity symbol. it made me smile that it was still out there. I didn't buy it, it needed another master .

kjell is on the chat service and reports some issues with the online list. if you'd like to try it, i can set you up with a trial of it and you could see if it fixes it or is the same. that way i might have a better idea of how to approach the issue, as ruling out the node app server would limit the issue to a few things instead of an almost limitless list of things. if you are interested in this shoot me a PM, so this way you aren't under any obligation for a service subscription till you can decide which one you'd like to continue with and then we can go from there (and if it turns out the issues are resolved, and kjell is experiencing a different type, then i'm sure we can come to a deal on the chat service that suits both of us).
