  1. So yeah we got this going thanks to the help of Dmacleo. It wasn't long before i noticed that videos don't show. We have video URLs from Vimeo / Youtube set to auto-embed. Thats a big deal because videos are a pretty integral part of our boards. What it does is it leaves posts looking out of context. Where people say obviously "See below" or "look at this" and there's nothing there. The Tapatalk user's gonna be confused with this.
  2. I've installed the files as directed to my root but can't see any changes at all when jumping into my board on a mobile. Have Tapatalk app for iPhone and can't see the site listed in there either. Nothing seems to be functional so I must be doing something wrong. I uploaded the file to where my conf.global is and installed the hook. Any ideas on what I've done wrong?
  3. Good man. Feedback: It's really good that you've made allowances for customising height. I would also include an option for width if it wasn't a major headache. It would be very useful. overall I'm very impressed with the number of options in settings you've clearly been tweaking it for years. It was also reassuring to get support within a couple of hours. Well done Pete.
  4. That's what i thought. Nothing in there Pete. and
  5. I'm sorry but I've tried very hard to rectify this. For well over an hour. There is a section somewhere where I can change a theme between Theme 1 (Controls at the side) or theme 2 (settings underneath). I've looked everywhere and can't find anything with these settings in. There is nothing in system settings. Can you give me a route to get to these settings please? I'm also going to want to: Move the Shoutbox to the bottom of the board. Possibly edit the width because it seems to be knocking the index off. Ensure that it only shows on the index. Edit the timeout frequency. Hopefully they'll all be in there too. Many thanks. PS - I also read back IRO 7 pages of this thread to no avail. It's a big thread.
  6. Just to correct my last post. I notice there are now share buttons at the base of topics viewed within mobile skin. Apologies.
  7. "Some improvement" you're joking aren't you. Can't even log-in on a mobile skin never mind check messages or navigate around the boards. Thing is it's all well and good saying "use full version". Naturally I do this. But we can't look at things from our own perspective when thinking about our boards being used in conjunction with a mobile skin. You've got to look at it from the perspective of someone who hasn't a clue about what they're looking at. It's very worrying to be honest. Because you know that people follow a link to your board on an iPhone and they're thinking "What is this white and blue thing thats meant to be a website on my screen" Plus, if 'Full version' is the saviour to having your board look weak. Have the button at the top of a page on mobile not at the bottom when someone (if they're even interested enough to read the actual thread on that format) has managed to get all the way to the bottom. In which case they likely close the window and get back to wherever they were on the net before following said link. It's a dead-end function also, with no options to re-share whatever they're reading. It's open > read > close, or open > scroll a bit > close. Probably the latter. I'd prefer the ability to delete the mobile skin for good so that it never kicked-in. but I've tried this without success. I hope this is getting addressed in 4.
  8. Choose number of recent topics in Sidebar for Ronnie Corbett's sake. Edit - ... and I wouldn't wait for 4.0 either.
  9. This is a constant annoyance for something so integral. I've paid people to increase the number of topics in sidebar but everytime I update the board it switches back to the defaut 5 topics. I upgraded today and again I'm back down to 5.
  10. I really like this. We'd need to make some adjustments together. For instance as far as socials go we use Vimeo, Google+ and a couple of others too. I want to have it..... but one area would be the colour scheme. Not the white the white is excellent, I think you should do 3 or 4 versions. Maybe a dark red instead of the greens, a blues instead of the greens, a GREYS instead of the greens (that's the most likely to win me)
  11. Installed, uninstalled. Right the idea behind this is good, because I'm fearful for users who don't know how to upload images to hosts and wrap links in IMG code, but it makes the whole process even more complicated than it would ordinarily be. I was doubtful on seeing this because i find Imageshack to be an unreliable image host. Too often I see the Imageshack logo on a forum where someone has tried to host an image. But then I was also doubtful because Imageshack is a dirty website. What it does is it redirects the user away from your site which is precisely what we're trying to avoid here. They're then confronted with a new browser window full of adverts and flashing gifs trying to get the user to sign up to stuff. Frankly, I couldn't make head-nor-tale of it. It said "You've registered, now pick a username" knowing my doubts were justified I tried it anyway and entered a username. It just hung, with a spinning timer, and, well i dunno what it was doing. But the idea is a good one. I'd be very interested to see if you could do something similar for a proper image host like http://postimage.org ... which is a user friendly, unbloated, no nonsense image uploader. 'postimage' actually links to facilities of this nature, but I've tried them and it didn't seem like IP.Board was catered for unfortunately. If you could work something like this with PostImage I'd be up for that I think.
  12. From looking at the Campfire website I can't see how it's relevant to an IP.Board forum.
  13. At the moment we use the IP.Board Mobile but I'm pretty dissatisfied. Because we've got one or two custom made hooks the index looks disjointed. That's not the fault of IPS of course. Still, this problem needs addressing and I was wondering if you could tell me what you've opted for. If it's 'Other' could you specify what please? Also, if you've used a custom skinner to do your mobile skin and you can recommend someone would you be able to name them. Thanks a lot.
  14. My boards seem to operate differently to everyone elses. I've just shut one down because nobody, IPS included, seemed to know why my bandwidth was being drained totally and the board had account suspension every twenty minutes.
  15. I have to say I absolutely hate this: It won't recognise that you drop a line or two after a quote so your response is wedged up directly underneath the quote. It's making my boards look properly messy, and it's new. Surely make improvements with upgrades not the opposite.
  16. Sidebar Image uploader Gallery is great. Well, it has a lot of drawbacks actually. But the notion of browsing images is great. What's not great is the fanny-about it takes to upload an image. Seriously who can be chewed. My demographic are professionals they'd like to share images, but they certainly don't have time to' click this page, click that page, this page that page, select image, tags, upload, this page that page. There's about 5 or 6 pages loading just to upload an image. What's needed is a sidebar hook. Browse button, text input field for tags and title, select button for album, upload button, BAM. Done. The user isn't even directed off the board index. I'm too busy with other stuff but paying for this to be designed is on my agenda. Save me the trouble. My user's aren't going to use the gallery in any great capacity until i have this.
  17. Yep. Definitely need to keep this alive.
  18. Have to say I love this. There seems to be too many negative potentials switching to 3.4 at the moment and I can't risk it. But looking forward to this one.
  19. Bought. Good stuff. You asked for ideas for the next upgrade so here are some: 1. An update stream in Sidebar. 2. The ability to post updates to Linkedin from within the board. I tried that, isn't doing it as such I don't think. 3. If we can feed some profile information from someone's LinkedIn acct into the board profile, top onions. 4. If you have an in-post profile field for LinkedIn which we have, User A links his LinkedIn acct with his board acct, and user B clicks on that, instead of taking User B outside of the board a pop-up window showing User A's LinkedIn profile information shows, that would be ace. 5. An update entry field in Sidebar. This would be a seperate hook no doubt. I want to bring LinkedIn INTO the board as much as possible. A good method for this would be to have some sort of sidebar hook with an update entry field with three check boxes underneath; one for Twitter, one for Google+, one for LinkedIn. The user checks the boxes they want to send the update to. It would be good if a user can send updates, links and information to all his / her social sites from our boards.
  20. Principle forum icon could be 4 or 5 things. Can you explain where it shows so we know which one you mean. I'd imagine you mean either the meta image or the favicon.
  21. I'm afraid I wasn't no. Some people might laugh at that, but, you know, I'm learning. I went to Google WT. It already had the site logged because I've done the process with Analytics. I sourced a tutorial on creating a sitemap because we didn't even have that done. It looked like this. Even when I put the URL into Google search it doesn't show. So I'm assuming it'll take a little while for spiders to do whats required, but I've a feeling there's loads of other stuff that hasn't been done either. Any suggestions Brandon? And thank you man.
  22. ... and it needs more likes this. How come only 2 or 3 people are on for this?
