I would also recommend using the search function to see if any questions you may have in the future have already been answered by the IPS staff or other members. Sometimes you might find a thread that answers your question, and sometimes you won't, but it tends to be worth the effort overall.

This suite is highly configurable, but alas not every single option has a tutorial on how to set it up.  Many settings in one section of the ACP may impact other functionality so it's best not to make changes to the default settings without some thought as to the possible consequences.  I would recommend setting up a test server to try out things and when you are confident that a new feature works for your environment you implement it on your live server. 

Also note that some features like "Achievements" and reactions are setup for you on install. These features may or may not work for your community using the default settings so you may have to tweak them to work for you.

Often times admins think they know their community better than they actually do, as such, I would recommend working closely with your community to ensure the platform you develop works well for them.

I am wanting to utilize Amazon Affiliate program and noticed quite a number of books I attempted to add will not work as Amazon does not consistently have an ISBN-10 number assigned to the book or they have an ISBN-13 number listed instead. As your app currently forwards to Barnes & Noble if an ISBN-13 number is provided many books I would like to add can't if I want to generate affiliate revenue from them.

Could you please tweak your code to allow for both ISBN-10 & ISBN-13 numbers for Amazon?

Zapier should be available to you on your self-hosted install. Check out this guide to setup Zapier:

@Andy Millne It would be nice to be able to exclude certain members from appearing in the Connections app or if that isn't possible at least allow us to exclude members from certain selected groups from being listed in the app. 

If a member adds a location, then they should be able to see how far the other members area in relation to themselves like below:

As most everyone is posting support requests via forums it would be nice if there was a visual indicator that a posting is related to a self-hosted install or an online hosting install or both.

This could minimize the amount of follow up posts required to narrow down exactly what the problem is and on which platform it is occurring, especially if a fellow member is offering up some help.

A problem and solution on the self-hosted platform might not necessarily be appropriate for the IPS hosted version and vice versa.

I checked all books via the following website:

I only added books that the ISBN numnber I inputted populated all of the fields.  The ISBN list I attached all displayed the buy button for brief periods of time.

Here's an update:

Upon installing IPS I set up an external Cron service to kick off tasks every minute.  I wait 24 hours for all tasks to have completed prior to backing up the site.  Upon a successful backup I install marketplace apps and plugins.

This app was installed on days 1, 2 and 3 and each site showed the error message noted above on all four sites.  On day 4 I tried once again, and I have not seen the error message appear in 36 hours.

Some code that IPS runs during the first three days of being installed appear not to play well with this app.  I'm not sure if that code will ever be run again and if it does if the error condition that is being tracked above will have any adverse effects on the site or app.  

I installed the app on four separate test boards. I disabled all third-party apps and plugins to eliminate any of them from being the problem.  Within several hours of the app install all four boards show the same error message above.

I have run the support tool on multiple occasions and cleared system caches. 

Using Version 4.6.12.1 and PHP Version 7.4.28

There are several different chat programs to choose from within.

I have one site where the share feature is available:

The other sites do not seem to have it available.

I followed the guide and ensured all user groups, but "Guest" have been given permission to each of the following:

I can't seem to find a setting (that jumps out to me) that would turn sharing on or off.  Not sure why one site it would work and other sites it doesn't.

To eliminate the Edge Browser from being the contributing cause of the problems I"m seeing I checked the following Browsers with the same results:
Chrome
Firefox
Opera

No "Buy Book" button showing.

Click on book and it shows "Buy this book" button:

Visit various other parts of the site and return back to "Books" and click on book again:

Return back to book and the "Buy" button is not present:

Refresh screen and "Buy" button appears. Click on "Buy" button and it goes to appropriate Amazon page.

Add a new book.

No "Buy"button. Refresh screen - No "Buy"button. Log out of website and log back in.

Navigate back to book:

Buy button present.

Log out and login as another user.

No Buy button present for the two books, refresh screen and sometimes the "Buy" button appears and sometimes it doesn't.
