To be honest, I have abstracted from your version 5. Why??? There are many factors - the entry of AI, especially in social networks, and probably also in forum systems, which is basically yours... There is something elusive, but irritating entry into the IT sphere... And unpredictable. .. I personally find it puzzling and wakes up my conservative thinking... Sorry, I can't be of any help to your version 5 for now...
Me too, actually, I don't expect anything in terms of speed...ha ha...🥰

Marketplace was really good option to find everything in one spot. Now i need to register on 20 different sites and half I don't even remember.
It's like Apple telling to it's customer, here take iPhone. You want apps? Go on developers site and install from their. Jeez, what a nightmare.
Take care of your health. Rest everything will go on.
PS I am one of the customers who is unhappy because support/ticket system is gone and have to deal with broken donation system in store.

    Hi Martin,
I've really attempted to use IPS for my big gaming community but honestly, at this point, I have to agree. IPS seems to be moving to appeal to corporate websites with things like (courses) instead of focusing on what other forum sites do. It seems that awesome features I loved are being removed like the integrated support system and more. With the marketplace being removed it is removing a good and awesome opportunity for developers to make money. I am going to start to begin to move to another forum site.

I've been using IPB since 2006 with the MSSQL driver.   I was always attracted to the flexibility of the platform with minimal programming.
Recently tech support has become more difficult.  It's harder to find code examples and removing the marketplace killed a creativity source for me.   I had a stroke a few years ago, so my development skills are retarded, but still I believe this is one of the poorer organized forms in regards to technical documentation.
A wiki, kept up to date by your community, would really help in development IMHO.
    Good luck all!
    Martin

leonovich_J reacted to CodeWizard in [4.7.11] Usergroup setting removes options to request pii data and account deletion
This is something I just cannot understand. All the bugs aside these two features introduce a whole new workflow of having to deal with requests, approvals and rejections. Who thought it's a good idea to release this without an option to opt-out? Not every community needs this and not everybody is ready. Communities that aren't ready to handle this are basically forced to stay on an older version and miss out on all other improvements. Both of those features should be configurable.
I looked into disabling it via code hooks and things get even worse. While hooking \IPS\Member::canUseAccountDeletion does the trick for account deletion (proper backend checks + removes it from UI), same route just doesn't work for PII.
\IPS\Member\PrivacyAction::canRequestPiiData/canDownloadPiiData can be hooked but UI elements will stay because of settingsPrivacy template. Buttons will be gone but whole div, header and description will stay.
For account deletion whole div is wrapped properly:
{{if \IPS\Member::loggedIn()->canUseAccountDeletion() }} ... {{endif}} Why same thing wasn't done for PII? This would do the trick:
{{if \IPS\Member\PrivacyAction::canRequestPiiData() }} ... {{endif}} Now it's impossible to remove this without excessive trickery. Theme hooks won't really do the job as there is no way to select that specific div as it doesn't have a unique identifier (it's a generic div.ipsPadding). Documentation states that "you can use any of the selectors supported by jQuery" and that's simply wrong, actually not even a tiny fraction of selectors used by jQuery are supported. Only the most basic CSS selectors can be used and those don't allow to select e.g. parent elements.
I didn't expect that a monthly update will turn into such a headache that a simple ACP option could easily fix.
tl;dr Please make those features optional.

I'll make a prediction. IPS 5.0 will be for cloud users only, whilst maintaining 4.x for us cheapskates. (for a bit maybe)

Since video streaming is an enterprise option only, I would say it does not apply to the majority on these forums. I would not have posted this, it only points out what the majority will not get. Especially with a title like "video streaming coming soon"...click bait!

Given you have a privileged relationship with their CM, there is indeed no use to announce here features that are specific to them. I don't deny that we are all lucky that they are using IPS and probably bring a lot of ideas benefiting to every community. Just in these cases public annoucement are probably useless.

This is totally understable and i have no issue with it. But you can't just present it as a new feature without at least mentionnign clearly that it won't be available to most.

Seriously, what is the point of announcign this feature on this public community when it will be only available to " corporate and enterprise" cloud plan ? How many clients does IPS have on this plan ? what %age of this community members does this represent ?
Announcing features only available to a few % of your clients can only frustrate the vast majority.

So, this is for cloud only.
This will be available to the hi end people who probably spend many hundreds / thousands a month and never post here.
How many hobby sites can afford 149 dollars a month?
Not sure how many self-hosted customers you have, but I suspect that is who read these posts, and yet, it will not be available to us.  Not sure why I would be excited by this.
Kinda feels like a poke in the eye to be honest.

They will have to display everything in one ad.
You can pin this ad on the main page.
However, there are big problems with this feature because users will not be able to leave a feedback for an open ad.
No, but you can see how it works on our resource (with filters) Only in Russian and Ukrainian, did not translate into English

    Hi @InvisionHQ
Is possible add an site ownership option?
What I try to do is use my website as the final place of transactions, when customer want to buy an item just use my commerce payment gateway to pay for the advert item, but at the sametime we don't need to show who is the member who offer the advert.
I need to set up my classified as below described:
    1. Members submit adverts,
    2. After advert is submitted need to be approved (I know this option already there)
    3. Instead show member as advert author, we need that advert show the name assigned by admin( example SiteName an member account handle by admin team), so all advert authors will be SiteName
    4. Customer want to get the deal or purchase the item, in the invoice will show the name of submitter as who is selling that item.
    5. So when members submit an advert, there should be contains a Submitter name field to be filled.

We would like to begin using Alipay to reach more worldwide customers and not be bound to American systems:
    https://intl.alipay.com/
I believe Alibaba is something like 3x bigger than Amazon.
I know this is supported somehow through Stripe, but the whole point is to be able to operate in the Asian system without going through American intermediaries.

Disappointed that the store was not built with Commerce....
Why do you guys not use your own products? Support with Commerce is ceased, now brand shop with Shopify. What next? Moving community blog to WordPress? Gallery to Instagram? Clubs to Facebook groups and Calendar to Google? Then "just" connect everything with Zapier.
