Can we fast-track some of the updates approval processes for verified/ trusted creators? The wait for IPS verification on simple bug fixes r/t software updates for some of these apps can be extremely long and impact our communities negatively while we wait. Seems like there are plenty of content creators here that regularly submit working, verified apps that would be safe to allow on some sort of fast-track as opposed to unknown submitters.

I think things like this should be left to browser extensions for the vast minority who seek it out.

Hi there,
I think it's likely that we'll remove native Facebook promotion support as it's becoming close to impossible to keep up and also to get apps approved. A likely replacement will be using Zapier to promote to Facebook.
Does this mean we will have the ability to utilize "Featured" or "Promoted" content as a Zapier trigger?
Currently, I have no way of promoting content that has been selected and/or featured via Facebook. For example, I am trying to create a Facebook/Instagram post when a Gallery Image is marked as Featured or Promoted. The current options do not allow for this.
Would love to do the same with blogs and topics. -

You would need to try and request these on facebook itself on the facebook application. Note however this does now require businesss verification, and we are aware it can actually be difficult to get this working at present
It does also need to be noted, its likely this will be removed at some point. Please see the following on this
You can't request them, those options no longer exist in the current API. They have streamlined everything and consolidated it under a single option called pages_manage_posts I believe.
Zapier is the only option to achieve this now and unfortunately there is no trigger I am aware of to selectively promote content? -

Well, normally all my template products just inherit the colors from the theme. But many custom themes were setting colors in such a problematic way that I had to force a background color for that article area. Guess I have to add another option to make that optional.
Thanks for the consideration. In the meantime I have no problem doing some CSS adjustments, but it's nice to know its in the back of your mind 🙂

Unsure if this is intended, but it seems a record listing on a dark mode site isn't displaying in an ideal manner:

Any chance of an option to display the flag after the member name rather than before it?

So it begins.
If you remove self hosting, you will lose us as a customer, plain and simple.
I already have hosting for which I use with other domains and other software. I don't require your cloud services, just your software.
Adobe and Microsoft both faced similar responses when they went SaaS. They also got negative feedback from small businesses and adjusted course accordingly. Adobe by offering cheaper lighter option and Microsoft by offering 1 time licenses as well as 365 licenses.

Quote7. Be willing and prepared to continuously adjust.
While the Creative Cloud was meant to provide services for a range of clients, from individuals to large companies, freelancers and hobbyists specifically were unhappy with the pricing structure early on. “Adobe is robbing small business, freelancers, and the average consumer. They do not seem to understand that every company is a not multi-national, multi-billion dollar corporation that has an infinite amount of resources,” they wrote in the Change.org petition.
This didn’t fall on deaf ears. The company listened to the complaints of this subgroup of users and in response introduced a cheaper, photography-only plan which included variations of Photoshop and Lightroom. It proved hugely popular.
In short, Adobe approached its transition to SaaS as a full-scale business transformation. And, like most successful business transformations, it took time, incorporated stakeholder feedback, and came to fruition in a steady progression toward its goals.

Yes, I think that is the plan all along. A marketing strategy to disappoint all the self hosting customers and gradually convince them to migrate to cloud.
I do wonder how many live forums are out there successfully running and using the IPS cloud business plan.
Any links? I would like to see some.
You know they already had a meeting where they decided on this prior to announcing 😛
In all seriousness, from a business management standpoint there is a risk in alienating loyal customers for any brand. They wouldn't be the first to make that mistake. However that assumes they rely on us small customers running downloaded instances on our own servers; if they see their push to SaaS and cloud as worth alienating those like us, it obviously means that's where they see their profit and as a result their future.
If that is indeed the case, I wouldn't expect any discontent from us to make any significant change or deviation from the path we are headed down as the large players that can afford their cloud services have a very different set of values than we do as niche and small community admins.
Darn capitalism.
There's always the option of an Open Source fork 😉

Not seeing any issues in my testing on my live site, will do some further testing later tonight.
Via PM, can you send me a link to your site along with a username/password to login as a user? Thanks
Will do, thanks for the help

I installed and setup Amazon SES and ditched SendGrid including removing the integration. However, I now have this warning message that I can't seem to get rid of:
"Mail Bouncer had an issue connecting to your SendGrid API. Please make sure that your SendGrid API key is correct and grants full permission to 'Mail Settings > Event Notification' and 'Suppressions > Suppressions'."

I'll test it out - what are your settings currently configured as?
Presently the only setting I've configured is enabling the online status option. Otherwise it's running stock on a default IPS theme. No other mods are enabled that I would think would interfere with it.

When I attempt to use the plugin I get an endless spinner that does not load any members.
When I disable the application the mention list works fine. Any thoughts? (Using PHP 8.0 and IPS 4.6) -

That's a goer, as long as you don't expect it to be an 'exact' representation of the actual content.
That's exciting 🙂

Throwing errors on 4.6, something related to the span12 custom CSS

Any idea if this plays nice with:
I have my SES setup through there, but like how bounces and complaints are managed on the front end through your app -
Perhaps this is a bit beyond the scope of this application, but is it possible to allow users to define their own watermark to be applied to images they post (or submit to a gallery)?
