Just thinking more about this. This might actually make Badges/Achievements catch up faster. Lets say you have 20,000 members, if the badges run backwards to check if they have been acquired, they only need to hit the highest achievement and then the system would know to give all the lower acheivements as well.
So if right now the system goes like this....
Member 1, Does he have 1 post? If so give achievement 1 post Member 1, Does he have 10 posts, If so give achievement 10 posts ..... Member 1, Does he have 100,000 posts, if so give achievement 100,000 posts
Well that means Member 1 has to be run thru each level to see if he has met the condition. However if the badges are grouped, You could work backwards from 100,000 and lets say he only has 55,000 posts, then the check only has to do the following....
Member 1, Does he have 100,000 posts, if so give him achievement 100,000 posts Member 1, Does he have 50,000 posts, if so give him achievement 50,000 posts Condition met, Automatically skip/give 1-25,000
If so, this could possibly speed up rebuilds against large communities with large amounts of badges/achievements.

I am really hoping that Invision will see fit to include a save draft feature, at least for Pages, in IC5.  I have lost so much work over the years due to the lack of this simple feature.
I just lost 3/4 of an article I wrote because I was going to click another button, and some menu popup jumped in front of me.  But also, I have been attempting to work around this for years by setting the post date several days in the future, saving repeatedly, and then backdating it to the current time once I'm ready to publish. This workflow, frankly, is absurd in the year of our lord 2024.  Furthermore, it messes with block and new activity sorting by showing those articles that originally had future publish dates at the top of the list, even if they've been read or their backdated date has passed.

Just popping in to add that I would second this suggestion.
A "save as draft" option would be fabulous, particularly in Pages. We have a database set up for articles, and it would be SO much easier to have a draft option there. Multiple members have to go over articles for that area, so right now, we have to use a private Club area for those members to review and add to articles -- then transfer them into the Pages database.

Absolutely agreed. That would be a great feature.

We have released a patch to address this issue. Please go to AdminCP > System > Support and apply the patch from the first/top left box. If you do not see an option to install the patch, you already have the latest release.

I'll be disabling that functionality until this is resolved then...just been alerted to a data leak (title of a private topic being visible) which is going to cause a few problems now that it's been seen.
Test of a topic in a private forum, viewable by a normal member...

I think the built-in Lightbox view falls short in some situations. To enhance the user experience, I propose the adoption of PhotoSwipe, which is a free and feature-rich alternative.
PhotoSwipe provides users with fast and smooth transitions between images, offering a more interactive experience. Additionally, features like zooming and dragging allow users to examine images in more detail. This change will make the visual content on our website more appealing and user-friendly.
With the IC 5 update, could there be an evaluation of replacing the built-in Lightbox view with PhotoSwipe?
    License
It comes with an MIT license, allowing free usage for personal or commercial projects. For more information and to explore the details of PhotoSwipe, you can visit the PhotoSwipe Official Website.

The sidebar width is customizable via a single flex-basis CSS property @Adlago. By default, it is 350px, but you can change it to whatever width you like 👍

The sidebar menu gives you more space to organise your navigation. The current system of it being in the header means a lot has to be hidden to make it fit, which isn't the best onboarding experience nor does it help highlight important areas of the community.
The thought behind the node menu item was to make it easier to add specific forums (or gallery albums, etc) so you can better design your community. You may want to highlight a few key areas (we might choose to feature Community Insider, Support, Feedback) making those areas easy to reach wherever you are and to help new visitors to your community discover what is important. Likewise, you might wish to enable fluid view and list your individual forums in the sidebar so you have the best of both worlds, a feed view index and then easy access to specific forums.
The theme for Invision Community 5 is optimising the minutes you spend on a community to make them more impactful. We are considering the various lifecycles of a topic. The initial burst of energy that crackles with noise and distractions and also in the future where future visitors come to it cold and want to extract key information quickly.

In addition to Matt’s post, each of your members (where a new group permission allows) can also choose their own preference out of the views. So if you’d prefer to use the traditional table view for the forum index and the traditional column view for topics (even if the admin has assigned other layouts), that’s of course possible. We’re absolutely not forcing change, just offering more options than before 🙂

Ehren is a superstar, he's barely scratched the surface on what he's been working on for the past six months. I'm really excited by these new views and the sidebar mode gives a very desktop app like experience, whereas the new mobile view is truly fit for purpose and not just a squished desktop view.

We've released some news on Invision Community Five, but third party developers won't have enough information to get started on updating their apps. We're at the peak of the mountain now and ready to start showing more in the coming weeks.
I am really excited to start showing off the culmination of just under six month's work from our team.

As a developer who has years of development experience and I am familiar with various techs that I could use in the development of apps but I didn't due to their limitations by IPS. I am sure that this method will help to make IPS more powerful and eventually users will use it and who will have a powerful board. Also, this method increases the competition between developers, and better apps are produced. If you look at other platforms and CMSs like WordPress, you will see that there are many developers for an app and you can choose the best one after comparing them. Many of the apps in the market can be better developed and released to the public, but considering that other developers have done it, I didn't do it so it doesn't affect their sales.
For example, I was recently working on an LMS project, which was quite similar to the apps available in WordPress and other CMSs. When I found out that IPS itself had published the same, so I stopped the development, because I didn't know if this app would get permission to publish after the completion of the project. But I can continue to develop them now. also, I have made a lot of custom apps and plugins (+70) that I could publish in the market according to the agreement I had with the clients, but I didn't take the risk due to IPS restrictions, and now I'm thinking about publishing them. there are even apps whose value is less than $10 and some do not need renewal. We can manage them in this way.

Agree 100%. I hope that V5 will be able to boast a high PageSpeed. A friend transferred a very large forum from free phpBB to IPS and users complain that the forum loads much longer 3-4s, and earlier on the free script 1-2s.
