Myr got a reaction from Maxxius in Blog Suggestions
Some, hopefully easy to implement blog suggestions:
Select existing blogs and assign them a new category. I would think that would be pretty straight forward to do.  I mean, I can feature, move, hide, etc. Why can't I set a category for selected blogs? Feature Blog Image. Before we had categories back, I was using the feature image to visually categorize. That means the same image gets uploaded dozens of times. It sure would be a great quality of life thing to set one per category as a default.  It would be a nice speed improvement too to cache a handful of images instead of all of them being unique. Being able to set Feature image on multiple blogs at once would be great too for modernizing older content. Or changing things if you want to refresh images.

Myr got a reaction from Unienc in Bulk Mail - Set a send time
Would it be possible to get a option to set a time/date to send a Bulk Mail?  We use it to send out our newsletter and the lack of schedule options means we have to do it all live. And when I have time to get everything set for email never matches the optimum time to send that email.

Adding this would allow hyper targeted emails to user segments on the site.  This would certainly reduce "junk" mail flagging by increasing open and click through rates.

I like this, because lets say once you set up the following....

Signed in 1 day in a row Signed in 7 days in a row Signed in 31 days in a row Signed in 90 days in a row Signed in 180 days in a row Signed in 365 days in a row Once a member gets thru that, there is nothing more to gain, unless admins keep expanding it indefinitely.  Or to your point, you let them repeat.
This member has won "Signed in for 7 days" three times!
    etc...

From what I've read it makes a lot of sense, the positives could see a large improvement for those that utilizes it - especially if .webp is used in conjunction.
Most people don't have overcomplicated graphics or logos.

Was there a technical reason why this has not been standardized? I am curious as to why SVG support has not already been added.
SVG has been around for 20 years (technically, 19 years, 20 this September). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scalable_Vector_Graphics It became a browser standard 10 years ago (since 2011) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scalable_Vector_Graphics#Native_browser_support I am surprised to learn even discontinued Internet Explorer 9 - 11 all supported SVG.
Or was this an oversight? 🤔

We already know that in 4.6 we will be able to use the WebP format.
We need webp NOW (.webp) images support But will SVG support also be added? Why? Because SVG format is intended for logos and icons. Assets load in lightning speed, much faster than in PNG.
    Please consider the suggestion 🙂

Myr reacted to LiamH in Different post highlight colours for different groups
At the moment, it's configured to just 1 colour for all user groups that have their posts highlighted. This can get a little messy and hard to distinguish in communities where multiple different groups have this enabled.

It has taken me ~3 months since upgrading to 4.5 (working with @Adlago) to recover my site speed, and eliminate the dozens of W3 html errors inherent in the standard version of IPB, and I won't be stopping until I'm in the 90% area for mobile (I'm currently at 97-98% for desktop). I'm just shocked that these issue continue in the latest versions, and in some ways were actually worse and harder to deal with in 4.5 than in 4.4.

Myr got a reaction from Unienc in Achievement Point Rules and Club Content Filtering
Is there a way to filter for Club Forums when creating Achievement Point Rules? It lets us select regular forums.

I have allowed a couple of "chat" topics inside club forums and it has royally skewed the reputation, making it kind of pointless. I'd like to filter out those club forums without filtering out ALL club forums.
    Otherwise it's looking good!

We're very much aware of CKEditor 5.

As mentioned above, the migration to v5 isn't a simple case of dropping in the new files. We'd need to re-code all of our custom plugins that handle many things including embedding, drag and drop uploading and much more.

CKEditor 4 is supported until 2023. While CKEditor 5 brings many useful new things, it's not urgent enough for us to "down tools" and focus a 6-12 week block on it.

It's on our roadmap along with other javascript improvements that we want to develop and deploy.

Just want to say I would not use/trust that service. Think about what it does. Everything you type is keylogged. That may very well include your passwords, banking information, and more.

Myr reacted to Linux-Is-Best in CKEditor 4 end of life - alternative editor consideration
CKEditor 4 is reaching the end of life (source). Instead of jumping onto the CKEditor 5 bandwagon, I propose Invision consider an alternative editor. There are many well-established modern editors such as, for example, TinyMCE, Froala, Quill, and Redactor, to name a few. Any of these would make satisfactory alternatives.

CKEditor may be 'old school,' but it has become bloated, larger in file size and load time.  Most of the issues it encounters often have to do with responsive layouts on a mobile device and excessive load time. As mobile continues to dominate the landscape, I feel it may be prudent to focus on an editor development that has kept up successfully with the times with the least issues.

Changing the editor should not be expected in the next release. But a roadmap should be considered for a future transition.  Thank you for your time and consideration. 😀

Why was the "last visited" field removed from User Hovercard?
It was a very useful option here.

It does not significantly extend the block:

Unless "include blocked users" is checked, I can't send bulk mail.  This rather defeats the purpose of the app...

I'm sorry for leaving you hanging without a more specific reply.
If you're upgrading from 4.4.x the current release will work for you without any issues. If you're looking to install the application on 4.5, then you'll need to wait for the next update. The biggest change with the 4.5 release is how data is stored since it no longer meets the Marketplace guidelines (which is why I haven't yet been able to mark it as 4.5 compatible).
An official '4.5' version is still coming though.
As usual, if you have any issues you're still more than welcome to submit a support ticket on my site for assistance.
