  1. no matter what I  try I get this

Please select the applications you wish to upgrade.
    Default Applications
      core.png IP.Board 3.4.7 Up To Date
    IPS Applications
appIcon.png Gallery 5.0.5 Up To Date
appIcon.png Nexus 1.5.9 Up To Date
appIcon.png Blog 2.6.3 Up To Date
appIcon.png Downloads 2.5.4 Up To Date
appIcon.png Chat Cannot upgrade. Not installed
appIcon.png Content 2.3.6 Up To Date
appIcon.png Calendar 3.3.4 Up To Date
  2. You are correct, for v3.4 it must be accessed in another way, but we are in IPS Community Suite 4.0 subforums...

yup but where the Create New isn't showing its either not logged in as admin or its 3.47 and lower.

or a file upload error but I think that would cause more issues.

  3. Sounds obvious (sorry) but you *are* running the upgrader not the installer yes ? :)

    Visit /admin/upgrade not admin/install

upload the 403 files and try to run upgrader (same thing happens if I hit install.php also)

yes, and as i said I also saw same thing using installer. after upgrader failed I restored uploaded again and ran the installer to see just in case.

    same error

  4. this is odd.

    all third party hooks/mods uninstalled.

upload the 403 files and try to run upgrader (same thing happens if I hit install.php also) and I get to the database section and it tells me I can't do it due to existing community being installed.

if I were to assign different prefix I could but that doesn't help.

this is on test board (luckily) so I can try anything to see why its happening.

any thoughts while I restore it and d/l a fresh copy of 403 ?

  5. I am way behind in updating and not used to v4 formats, was there a v4 version of this added yet and I missed it in market?

am going to hold off updating until I see if this one is updated.

  6. should show in mod control panel, unapproved content, tutorials section if its not something you are used to looking for.

edit: didn't see Adriano answered, sorry.

File Name: CSPAN with Embed Code media tag

    File Submitter: Dmacleo

    File Submitted: 17 Sep 2014

    File Category: Integration

    Supported Versions: IP.Board 3.4.x

CSPAN with Embed Code media tag

To install first download and extract the file.
In ACP go to Look and Feel, Post Content, Manage Media Tag.
then at bottom of screen in the Import New Media Tags click the Browse Button.
Browse to the extracted file you fownloaded and choose the mediatag.xml file and then click Import.
After imported go to Look and Feel, Template Tools and recache all skins.

    IMPORTANT!!

This media tag will ONLY work with CSPAN videos that allow embedding.

You can tell if the video is ok by the word embed on lower left of player as shown in screenshot embed 1.

    IMPORTANT!!

You CANNOT use the actual page url for this tag, you MUST get the url used in the embed code. This was only way I could get it to always work.
This is actually easy to get, there are 2 ways to do it.

The first and easiest way is to click the breakout button [BOX WITH ARROW] on player as shown in screenshot breakout 1. This opens a new page and the url of that page will be correct. Just paste that url into post.

The second way is to click the embed to copy the NEW code, paste that into a text file an then copy the video url from the embed code (do NOT copy the single ' on each end) as shown in screenshot URL 1. You then paste that url into post.

An example of a url to paste is this:
    http://www.c-span.org/video/standalone/?321518-1/house-democrats-news-conference-benghazi-committee
this url was driven off this page:
    http://www.c-span.org/video/?321518-1/house-democrats-news-conference-benghazi-committee

File Name: Google Docs Media Tag

    File Submitter: Dmacleo

    File Submitted: 14 Sep 2014

    File Category: Integration

    Supported Versions: IP.Board 3.4.x

To embed google docs into a post using media tag.
    tested with documents and spreadsheets.
tested in IPB 3.4.6 with all patche applied, no idea if it will work on older versions or not.

you may need to adjust the iframe dimensions to suit your needs.

To install first download and extract the file.

In ACP go to Look and Feel, Post Content, Manage Media Tag.

then at bottom of screen in the Import New Media Tags click the Browse Button.

Browse to the extracted file you fownloaded and choose the mediatag.xml file and then click Import.

After imported go to Look and Feel, Template Tools and recache all skins.

to use this the google doc item (doc/spreadsheet/etc) needs to have been published to web, you then use the link that the share link generates.
if the document owner has not published the document to web the embed will not work.

  10. huh never seen that happen, you modify the skin?

the excessive border space on right side compared to left side is why I wonder about skin edit.

have run this on many skins (until yesterday I had 11 installed) and not seen that issue so not sure.

  11. well with presales it allows people who are not members a manner to post and at same time it prevents the tons of spam they used to get.

and it also allows them to check each post to make sure no false/misleading info is given out to a prospective customer.

actually I am not sure on the 10 for clients, been so long since I bought it I may be wrong, there MAY be no restrictions for license holders when they first get access.

edit: often you will see something posted that is wrong, approved, and the next reply is staff explaining why its wrong. this then allows the person who made the mistake to learn as well as get correct info to the requester.
