First of all, this is great. Really great.
Secondly, I think you are getting closer and closer to having all the ingredients for making a very nice ITSM tool for support purposes 🙂

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.

Jimi Wikman reacted to Sonya* in Stock Replies: ACP Permissions for moderators
I would like my moderators to create and manage stock replies. Since stock replies can be created in ACP only, I have given them an ACP access for the area:

This is how they now see the area in ACP if there are no replies. Moderators cannot create new replies.

If there are replies created by administrator, they can only see the list, no editing.
Do I miss any other permission here, or does it work as designed? The permission is called “Manage Stock replies”, but there is nothing my moderators can manage here. 🤨

    Hello friends.
Is it possible to eliminate options from the country drop down field to only have one country listed? I am looking at only offering my membership to a specific country and if I can modify this it would eliminate confusion on sign ups. I’m thinking there may be code somewhere to change this.

    thanks

Please allow to upload font files (woff2, woff, otf, ttf...) in Media as there is currently no way to upload custom font files. These are not unsafe.

Hello wonderful staff. In my excitement for V5 I am wondering if you could provide us with the ideal images sizes for any sections that will allow us to add them as topic covers, course covers, etc…. I would love to be able to create templates for all the different image sizes that would be best for V5. I will be using Canva to create a master template and could even possibly share the templates with others. If you have a list of the image areas and ideal sizes that would be great.
    thanks

Jimi Wikman reacted to WebCMS in Stemming and Synonyms in search
Obviously, IC does not use full-text search but also lacks the basic stemming, synonyms, plurals in search.
If we search for the word "consist" and there also exist words like consists, consistent, consistently, etc. these additional words are not matched in the search which does an exact word match search only making the search far from accurate.
As you are aware, stemming works by using the derived variations of the word's root in the search.
    Searched word: manage
    Root: manag
Stems: manage, manager, managers, manages, management, managerial, managing...
Now we can use these root words with wild cards in search logic for a knock-out search. Plurals are covered by stemming (wildcard on root).

Jimi Wikman reacted to Jim_K in Add a feature to follow a category
Right now, users can follow "normal" forums for new topics. However, they can't follow "category" forums -- i.e. follow all posts in the category's subforums.

We'd like an easy way to do that. Maybe we could add a Follow button to the Category.

We'd probably expect to manage these on the Manage Followed Content page.

    About Categories
In our Invision Community, we have a lot of smaller forums that are categorized via a parent forum configured with Type = Category, as shown below.  Unlike "Discussions" and "Questions" forum types, there's no way to Follow a Category.

I am mapping out the CSS classes in Figma and I notice a lot of repetition and very small hue changes and I would suggest a small overhaul to reduce the variables a bit, or use a standard hue base instead?

This is not all the colors, but you can see the repetitions I think 🙂

Jimi Wikman reacted to teraßyte in Upgrading to PHP 8 gives some strange errors...
That's a problem with a plugin/widget and the PHP code itself needs to be updated. It's not a problem with the template.

You need to contact the author of the plugin for an updated version. In case the developer is not available anymore your next best option would be to hire a different developer to fix/update the plugin for you: https://invisioncommunity.com/third-party/providers/
If you're not sure which plugin it is send me a PM and I can help you find it.

The code inside the block must be missing something. Previous PHP version silently failed or threw warnings/noticed, but PHP8 is much more strict.
Based on your log you have some wrong code inside a block called jwsestandard3colblock. IPS won't be able to help since it's either a custom block you made or some modification you installed. They'll move the topic in a different forum most likely, but if you post the block's code it's possible to have a look and see where the issue is.

    Here's the culprit:
    {{if $record->customFieldDisplayByKey('post-type', raw) == "video"}} Change it to:
    {{if $record->customFieldDisplayByKey('post-type', 'raw') == "video"}}

Jimi Wikman reacted to Giray in Change the owner
I realize that one cannot change the 'owner' of a thread in the Forum and yet... it would be very helpful if when a dev sells or cedes his/her app to another dev that there be a change of the owner of the app and the support thread. Not changing this is unfair to the dev and to the clients. Clients waste time chasing after the wrong dev and devs do not feel good about the mistaken identity - both the old dev who keeps getting pestered and the new dev who might not be getting the love they deserve for the upkeep of the app, theme or plugin. Maybe you could write a back end script just for IPS to change just files and support threads? It would make the marketplace look more professional to know that it reflects the now and not the then.
    Thoughts?
    Thx.
