Hi, is there a way by default to avoid this (see below) when pasting a Twitter address? And instead simply have it like this https://twitter.com/invisionps without having to click "Paste as link instead" at the bottom of the text editor? (Most people on my forum don't realise that option exists and get angry when they see someone's timeline embedded instead of a simple link).

I know I'm repeating myself here, but partly due to the uncertainty of how 4.6 works, and partly because not knowing if those wishing for the custom title to remain would be happy with having to hover over the new icons. So, this is basically a question. I would be okay with users having to hover over the new rank icons to see the titles, would that be okay for others? And if so, why IPS has to remove something that shouldn't alter their 4.6 design? As it is up to 4.5 inclusive, you set one criterion (namely post count but in 4.6 could be others) and give certain members the ability to change a default title that you have there anyway (some change it and others leave it as is). Why can't it be the same in 4.6? (Assuming it works within the whole new ranks system as planned)

I think it's a shame, particularly because such a thing could very well be compatible with the new system, even if you had to hover over the new badges to see the title.

I agree. On my site for example the only perk "ranks" give you is the ability to edit your title after x posts, which without doubt users prefer to any "achievement" I could determine for them (unless it was cash or something like that).

Glad to know. That's exactly how I have the fonts set on my site for the same reasons you mentioned.

So, the only way to "unlink" a member from a type of subscription he bought at some earlier stage is to create a new subscription for him/her? (From the ACP?) I don't understand why this changed from 4.4 to 4.5, because until I upgraded last week I never had this problem.

I may open a ticket but maybe it's just a settings thing. Last week I upgraded from 4.4 to 4.5. I don't have any form of recurring subscription (and all payment methods bar crypto are manual), so it's always been the case that users have been able to pay within the period the invoice is pending, or when expired they've always been able to buy another subscription whether for the same type/duration or another one. I didn't change any subscriptions settings but now users face a brand new problem. If they were on a subscription plan. Then when their subscription expires, they can only renew that subscription plan. Is that how it's meant to work? It can't seriously be. Their subscription expired, so they should be able to buy the same type/duration or any other. This is what they find: In my Subscription plans I have this setting on: Should I have the upgrade/downgrade setting on? or is that only to change while your subscription is active? (Somehow that's what I've always believed and always had it off).

@ahc I'm afraid that IPS tech support says that's the intended behaviour for the 4 series. At least when it comes to Status Updates, as they are not deemed content items. So, not sure if that explains or not your case, as maybe Gallery items do count as content. My recollection regarding Status Updates on 4.3 and 4.4 tends to differ, as I'm almost certain some members triggered the promotion with Status Updates prior to last week when we upgraded to the very latest version. But tech support are adamant that it has never been the case during the 4 series. Maybe my installation had a problem before (because even PMs triggered the promotion and I found that far from great), and now it works as intended. So, sorry I cannot be of more help. Being your case about a different app than mine, I won't assume IPS reply applies to your case too necessarily. With a bit more time I'll test my own gallery and let you know what happens there. Hi, did this get fixed for you? I've upgraded to 4.5.4.2 last week and now I'm noticing this is happening to me. Prior to that the rule worked fine, whether with content that increases your post count or not. PS, Just to be clear. It does work if someone within the target group posts on the forum (irrespective of post count increase or not). However, that same member was able to achieve the promotion by posting status updates before the upgrade. The rule targets members of two primary groups with a post count bigger than 99, and a post every 7 days adds a secondary group to them. Another rule removes it after 7 days if they have not posted.

Well, I updated my forum to 4.5.4.2 but I did not update this app, and the one that was already installed for 4.4 keeps working without problem.

Hi @Nathan Explosion, I've just tested this, it looks like it works only in the default theme. My own default theme is basically the IPS default plus a few tweaks in colours, etc, but no substantial differences. Is this the expected behaviour?

So, anybody has come up with a plugin to warn outdated browsers by any chance? I know it's a big problem with Internet Explorer, but if you have the Safari version for Yosemite (which I have on one computer I don't want to upgrade, so I still have access to Final Cut Pro 7), it also will present problems to a lesser degree (Reactions showing a big grey dot instead). And I imagine that like that, many different older browsers will present problems. I've upgraded my forum to 4.5 a day ago, and it would be nice to have a good way to ask members to update or switch their browsers.

Thanks for that. Yes, it's odd, but you gave me an idea, and that's selecting at least one subforum. In that case, it works correctly. The problem is when I don't have Forums selected at all as an app to be used with this plugin. I will test it a bit further tomorrow, but for the time being I'll use that workaround. I can select a forum where I never upload photos, so that leaves the rest of the forum without the watermark, which is what I want.

Hi @DawPi, I've installed the latest version of this plugin, and even when I don't have "Forums" selected, it ads the watermark to the forum posts anyway. I tried deselecting all forums too (apart from not having the Forums option enabled) but still the same, it ads the watermark anyway. I've only been using this plugin for Pages and Classifieds without problem until now. Cheers.

Over 2500 by now to be exact. :) Well, it's review forum (reviews of certain services), set up well before IPS released their own reviews, so it works with a third party app. So, once a service provider receives an x number of reviews gets their own folder (subforum) with contact details, etc. If they advertise on our site, those reviews are accessible to everyone, even guests. For the rest of reviews, they can be accessed by paying a cheap subscription (or posting x number of reviews over a period of time). On one hand I admit that the idea is crazy from a logistical point of view and I know it puzzles IPS tech support every time they need to deal with an issue. On the other hand it has contributed to the commercial success of the site, and its survival as well. So, one day I may restructure and simplify the whole thing, but it's easier said than done. From the admin practical side of things, IPB 3's interface was much more helpful to deal with that amount of subforums. From a performance pov though, IPS 4 has been much better, light years better. In reality my site is not too different to this one when it comes to speed these days. The only problem was introduced by 4.4, as any forum created or edited after that upgrade can't be found using the Ajax search in the ACP. They can be found any other ways though. As I'm not creating/editing forums everyday, it's just a small annoyance. Not sure if IPS hardcoded a limit from 4.4 onwards, but as I said I get around the problem. But you don't need to have 1000s of subforums, imagine you have 80 or so, then including rather than excluding becomes a pain too. While for whoever has just from 6 to 8 subforums for example, including or excluding becomes practically the same. So, that's why I think that excluding is much better than including as a default. That third party app I screenshot above (which is not for streams but for something else) has the capability of switching between including or excluding, so it gives you the best of both worlds. But if only one is possible for IPS, I repeat that excluding would be much more helpful in general terms.

I found this suggestions area. I'm not sure if existed before but I've just noticed it. I simply quote myself from a previous thread, as I've been requesting these things since the beginning of IPS 4. To the above, I add the request of tickable boxes (or any way to select multiple topics) to move them at once following a search. At present you can't move topics delivered by a search. You need to open the topic and move it. Last, it would be very handy to have Pages (and other apps) widgets that show items in a random order (I understand this is possible but at present it takes a big toll on performance, or so I've been told). Let's say you have a directory, and nobody would want to pay for being at the bottom of the list all the time if his/her name starts with "Z". The first three things I suggest above were present in IPB 3 but despite some talks on the forums, they've never been reintegrated. Cheers.
