  1. File Name: Synchronize Wordpacks for IPB 3.0 RC1 (v 1.0.0) File Submitter: RedEnzian File Submitted: 23 May 2009 File Category: Hooks and Plugins Title: Synchronize Wordpacks for IPB 3.0 RC1 Resource Type: Hook Version: 1.0.0 (10000) Compatibility: IP.Board 3 RC1+ ONLY This hook is for RC1 only!! (hope RC2 will synchronize the wordpacks automaticaly) What does it make? This hook synchronizes the installed wordpacks with the original "IPB en_US wordpack" which gets delivered with IPB. Since IPB currently don't synchronize additional wordpacks when a new APP gets installed (e.g. install the Tracker or Shoutbox and try to translate them), this hook checks all words in the original pack and adds them to the additional packs. How does it work? Install the hook and go to your Look & Feel -> Language Section in ACP. It will check the wordpacks by itself when loading the page. Please make sure you have not deleted the original Wordpack. After synchronize you should disable the Hook in the Hooksadministration since the hook will be called everytime you enter the Manage Language Page (which could be a little bit anoying). When you install a new APP and you need to resynchronize again, activate the hook and follow the above description. I've a problem, where could i reach you? Send me an PM on forums.invisionpower.com or an eMail to the provided mail address in the hooksdetails. Click here to download this file
  2. This is a known Bug which will be fixed in RC2
  3. Go to your Look & Feel Section in ACP -> Manage Languages -> Select your Language and open the "public_email_content" pack. Find: personal_convo_new_reply (on page 2 at my forum)personal_convo_new_convo (on page 3 at my forum) copy the text from the left side into the right textarea and remove the <#TEXT#> part. Save it. Attention: RC1 has a problem when saving wordpacks with placeholders like "<#FROM#>" in it. Wait for RC2 to make the changes. This is the only way i know, how you can get rid of sending the entire message by email.
  4. RC1 has more bugs because more people are testing it. Beta was encoded and no upgrade script was available, now people start to look into the code, write mods, trying to import/export things, upgrade Live boards and so on. I hope they will release a RC2, so we can test further and help making the Final as good as possible. @aurorawx: perhabs he speaks about Vista ;)
  5. have you switched on IN_DEV mode? than you have to create some extra folders. Looks the same, when i activated IN_DEV without the manual ;) http://resources.invisionpower.com/index.php?appcomponent=cms&module=articles&article=7639 http://resources.invisionpower.com/index.php?appcomponent=cms&module=articles&article=7510
  6. it will show up when you have edited your profile and entered data into the field.
  7. you can display them by selecting the Profile Group in the edit or add menu Contact Methods will be shown on the right side in the usersprofile Profile Informations will be shown on the left side in the usersprofile Old 2.3.x Profile fields are stored in the group "previous Fields" when upgrading the board, so that they dont get lost. Simple edit them and give them one of the above groups.
  8. As far as i know, this is a MySQL Database Issue. MySQL has defaulted the minimum Searchword length in FullText Search to 4 chars for all versions. You can change this, if you have got access to your mysql configuration file. Look at this article and select the version of your MySQL Server on the left side: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/fulltext-fine-tuning.html
  9. Hello again, ive started to write a Plugin so that international Boardadministrators who needs to translate the Terms, Logininfo, Reginfo and Boardguidelines into every installed language. read more on http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=blog&module=display&section=blog&blogid=442& its not finished, but i hope i have a testversion available soon and i hope also to add more things to translate into it in the future.
  10. the story of how Invision was founded and IPB is created will fill many pages :) Matt should make a Blog entry about the story :D after finishing IPB 3.0, Nexus and IPD ;) As far as i could remeber Matt started working on IPB alone after leaving the Ikonboard Project. Charles and Matt founded Invision Power and Matt started working on IPB (dont remeber the date but it must be back in 2002 or somewhere there i loved the look of IPB 0.9 ;) ) Since 2.0 there are more and more Developers involved (bFarber, Rikki (Skin), Matt, and so on) Thats the short story edit: to slow...
  11. yes we can (hm .. is there a copyright on that line? :) ) but then the ACP is not fully translateable and Boards with an international Administrator or Moderator crew have a problem since the phrases are still only available in one language. Also (Rigo already said it) the Board Guidelines, the Registration Benefits, the Boardguidelinesheaderstring, the Helpfiles and the Login Information text should be translateable to suite the requirements of an international board.
