We have some thoughts on this, but nothing in the roadmap at this time. Generally speaking, we want Commerce to be able to handle monetisation of your content across the suite.
Not at this time, but happy to hear your thoughts? Do you mean pre-made templates you can toggle between?

    This looks super promising!
A couple of suggestions if I might be so bold...
Integrate this into the warning system UI.  (Warn User, Flag As Spammer, Message, ALERT) Integrate this into the forums.  For example, being able to send an alert to those who participated in a topic.  (The use case might be to notify users of something important happening when they might not be following that thread OR if a thread is getting out of hand issuing a gentle nudge to get them back in line.) Allow sending anonymous messages that a member can reply to which would show in the alert section that any moderator could respond to.  (The use case might be part of the warning system of letting a member have a chance to respond to a warning, or giving a member a chance to ask questions with the moderator team.)

This is 100% on the "phase 2" list.

Something I always wanted, but doesn't sound like it will work as I'd prefer - it would help if this was an option during the moving topic process, make it an option to create an alert for the topic starter whilst on the pop up for that.

It would be interesting to see how this would work on a mobile device!
Everything always seems to be shown on a computer and never on a mobile phone when the majority of people will access most forums on a mobile these days

Good news: it already works for categories. 😀
Good ideas, I'll make a note.

The short version is that I built another platform called Ikonboard, got overwhelmed, sold it to someone who made promises and then broke those promises. This someone had also bought something Charles built. Charles and I decided it was time to move on so started "IBForums/Invision Power Services" together. From that time, I think only Rikki was involved in Ikonboard although most of the team have been with is for 10-15+ years.

@Matt it goes even further back for me as I still count the original Ikonboard days!  It was the failed experiment that lead to the one that actually worked!
In terms of memories… there are too many for me to pick just one:
@Charles picking me up from the airport near Appomattox explaining how Virginia was not a state but a commonwealth.  The panicked support tickets to reboot a server and @Lindy saving the day and talking me off the ledge when IPS still sold dedicated servers.  Meeting you and learning about the migration from Perl to PHP.  Working through the upgrade from IPB3 to IPB4 thinking the conversion would NEVER finish… and then when finally turning the board back online and members saying “oh wow!”

We're actually getting some insidious spammers lately.
They will post 3 or 4 times, acting like they know what the forums about, be relatively on topic, and sometimes saying something really weird but not 100% spambot.

They go dark, and a few weeks later they come back, and edit their old posts changing it to spam.

Most all spammers first post includes a link.  Anyway we can add that to the list to mark for approval?

    1) Good feedback.

    2) Probably, yeah.

    3) It's core functionality; right now it works with Forums and Pages.

    Good idea! 🙂
In my case, I would use it but only for chosen forums [not globally].
For forums like news, feedback, contacting the mods I find it useful. But for Chit-Chat-like forum it would be unnecessary. Thanksfully we can set in CSS where to display the badge and where to hide it. 🙂

We are trying to break away from large monolithic releases spaced 12-18 months apart which leaves long periods of time devoid of any significant new functionality.

In terms of demand for this feature, it's been requested a lot for our enterprise communities for quite some time.

This was implemented as a MetaData extension, meaning that you can utilise the feature in any of your apps 🙂

Nice video, nice feature! This is a really good start towards bringing Pages into the inevitable realms of being a proper Divi style page/site builder!
It would be really nice to extend this functionality to members who are Blog owners, enabling them to be able to add some much needed personalisation and individuality to their IPS Community Blogs.

I'd prefer to show it at the top and/or at the bottom of the page, right after the data-widgetarea="header" or before the data-widgetarea="footer". Please consider these options too.

We have a todo about that too. We did consider changing it for this release, but we're not sure we'll get time - but we do recognise that it's not perfect hidden away.

    Great scenario.
I'm not a fan of having newbies repeat questions over and over again, so let me flip the question back to you: how would YOU like to deliver the best and most informative topics from the community to new members?
Answer: articles or topic compilations that gather best-in-class resources from the community.  This is especially powerful for mature communities who have a wealth of community knowledge to share.
What if you pinned topics of the following resources:
"Answers to All the Questions You Should Ask about Self-Travel"
"10 of the Best Topics For New Travelers"
"The Definitive Guidebook on Self Organized Travel for Members, by Members"
"Planning Your First Trip? The Best Community Stories by Members"
"Read the World: the Best 2018 Travel Blogs on Jair's Community"
You don't have to answer the same new questions over and over again if you can compile the best topics and answers from the community for members. But imagine showing these resources to new members, how you'll be able to deflect most of the easy questions, and also inspire them by showcasing the very best content from the entire community!
