  1. Did you try ordering the applications in ACP. When I did, the order of my tabs changed with it. Just drag 'n drop in ACP Elanor
  2. Is it possible to create a function where members can cancel their own account, but leave it up to board administrators whether that should be with our without members posts? If posts should be kept, there might be an option that posts will be transfered to moderation queue so moderators can verify if no personal information is within the posts, or maybe even an automatic merge of the former account to a "collection" account, named by board administrator, so no posts will be lost (topics not destroyed) but in the sametime former members will not be named in board anymore. Also the possibility to "maintain" the cancelled account for a limited amount of time (configurable by board admin) in which users can reconsider and reactivate (when cancelling account, board can send a email with e reactivation link, that is valid for the time that administrator has configured) after which the account is permanently deleted. At this point (correct me if I'm wrong) the only way to remove an account is by requesting it to be removed by board administrator. Due to law in several country's there should be an option for the user to have these kind of possibilities. Hope I explained it correctly, please ask if question isn't clear.

  4. Allthough there's the helpfiles we can alter, it would be nice if the board holds a FAQ feature. In there admins can add whatever FAQ they want, regardless whether its about forum or there surrounding websites and features. My users come with so many questions that if I was to put them into helpfiles, the list would be so enormous that it would be unattractive to use. Besides that, the Helpfiles do not show in language bits so I would have to create helpfiles for all languages on my board, making the list twice or three times as large. It could be done in a forum layout I suppose, but it would be nice if there could be a way of just listing the questions (categorized) making it easy to find the right question, clicking on it and getting the answer. If someone allready created anything like it, I would be very interested in finding out how you created it (using IPB off course) Elanor
  5. At this point, when completing registration, new board users are automatically placed in usergroup Members. There is no setting to make variations in that like based on date of birth or location, where that could come in handy when you want to create a multi language board, but don't want to show the forums in other languages, or when you want specific rights to be given to people of specific ages like a teens area, an erotic area etc. It would be great if such a feature was available in a future release (preferably 3.0.4, since 3.0.3 is allready released)
  6. Simple, perhaps stupid question: How will this update affect plugin blocks created in CCS on 3.0.2? Will they still work or will I have to create the blocks again in order to keep it working? Since plugins are created from source of board..that might be changed by this update... Thanks for explanation Elanor
  7. At this point, profile fields are not listed in translation menu. I guess that's because board admins can alter and add as much as they like. In the front end of the board however, this means that people choose a language, but when entering a profile, everything is in english (and there are many people in this world that do not speak english well enough to understand everything). Off course Board Admins can translate these fields into the native language of their board, but then English people using the english language will be confronted with that native language. Translating therefor is only an option if you translate a board in your native language and only use one language throughout the entire board. There is an option to add new profile fields, but that means new columns in database will be created, because one part uses english profile fields to enter data and the other users de fields of other languages. This makes it difficult to query data, cause same type data is spread in the database over various columns. Then there is the possibility of altering the profile fields zo contents will be in both languages. That's an option for boards with few languages, but with more than 2 languages, profile field names will contain so much text that filling in a profile is not appealing to new users. It would be nice if this important part of forums (after all it all starts with registration and creating a profile) would be in the translation bits. It can start out with the primary profile fields, with the contents in english, that come with the installation. When translating through ACP it at least minimizes the need for entering custom profile fields with same data as the ones in english. That would allready be a big help for many I guess. But above that it would be great if a feature was created that offered "instant" translation options when adding a custom profile field, like when you create a new custom profile field, you do so in default language, but after creating, you'll be offered a screen saying: "You've added a custom profile field. We've located # other languages on your board, please fill in the language bits for each language" offering a list of boardlanguages, with empty strings for each profile field entry, (like in translation part of ACP). In that case adding a field means you add it in all available languages. Don't know if thats possible, but I guess it would be a wonderfull solution for all foreign customers with a multi-language board. If this feature should be created, I'll do my part by translating the default profile fields in my native language, dutch. Perhaps others, reading this topic, can give their opinion about this suggestion, maybe even improve the suggestion with other, more usefull ideas. Elanor
  8. Hi there After playing around with 3.0.2 for a couple of weeks I've found some things that seem strange to me and might be improved: When specific functions are prohibited for specific groups (like guests) it might be better if that function did not show up in forum menu. At this point, guests, who can only access a few boards on my forum, but no blogs, tracker or gallery, still see all these items in menu. Clicking these menu items offcourse will do them no good, but why showing them? The same goes for ACP, when I enable some ACP functions to staff, the should not see the whole range of possibilities, only those for which they have permissions. Elanor
