Thank you for your message. I have added one of my colleagues on to our conversation, and we can continue there to see if what you have sent is the cause

Apparently so. Please check your inbox, I've just sent you a message.
And I agree, I was already in the process of doing this when you posted your response.

It may be worth speaking to each other here to see if you have anything in common with regards 3rd party items. All I can say for sure is that the software itself doesnt do this

This same thing happened to me few weeks ago...I was checking the server load, it was 0 0 0. So, I login to my site, I saw the message "Licence Key Invalid" Apparently, my site went down for 2 hours already.
After I clicked the message, it led me into ACP, I didn't fix anything, the message was gone, and my site went normal.
Do I need to worry about 3rd party app? 🤕

    Hello,
I just got notified by someone on my site's Discord server that my site was down, they were waiting for it to come back online, and wanted to know when it was coming back. I told them that there was no planned downtime. So I go onto the site, and find "Licence Key Invalid", and that there was a problem with my licence key and I needed to check it. It also told me that my community was offline and I noticed all my plugins and applications were completely disabled as well. The nearest I can tell that it went down was sometime between 12:40 and 12:43 BST, today.
Problem with that: My licence key is valid. I'm not sure why it said that it wasn't. I also don't appreciate it completely disabling my website (Turning it offline) when I am a VALID licence key holder. I also don't like how it completely messes up settings either; such as the custom directories in the upload settings. For example I have my gallery images pointing to a specific place, that this changes and sets back to default after I reconfirm my licence key.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or anything, or if it's intentional. But this is very annoying and not the first time this has happened. Especially not getting any form of notification about it from the site itself. I will not be very happy if this is intentional as this is affecting legitimate people and the consequences seem severe as well.

As long as you are self-hosted that's an option. You can download the folders and check for specific code like licenseKey() or to see if there's code that switches the offline setting.

If you're unsure of what to search, or how, it's also possible to hire a 3rd party developer to review the code of all your apps. A list of developers available for hire can be found here: https://invisioncommunity.com/third-party/providers/

I would want this as a site-wide feature (for user content). A 5 MB PNG screenshot would usually just be 100 KB as JPG.

Fun fact; apparently if you block someone from sending you messages, they can actually still do it in conversations that are still open. Did anyone else know about this?
The whole system at this point is a joke on my site. Invision bark on about "Community Moderation" and giving tools to stop toxicity, and then we have this flaccid feature that does effectively nothing. As a member of staff now, @breatheheavy can you ask someone to take a look into this, please? Surely your community is still facing the problems that we all are.

Yep, can confirm. I'm getting something similar. Tried to update through the ACP; and now I just get:
Site is locked because "Upgrade in process". Nothing apparent in error logs.

As mentioned, the upgrade simply needed to be run from /admin/upgrade there. This has now been completed for you

Sorry, its really not clear what you are doing here. You stated you reuploaded files and things were working, so its unclear why you have reverted again. However stated you then uploaded new files and its not working. What sets of files are being uploaded at what points here?
@Tripp★ your topic was split off here

Tripp★ reacted to PoC2 in How do I remove the "Upgrade to Cloud" message in AdminCP? End of Independent Hosting?
    Hello,
Just updated to 4.6.12 and immediately noticed a bright green message at the top of every AdminCP page that says in bright green:

For me, moving to Invision Community's "cloud" is not an upgrade, unless Invision wishes to re-imburse me thousands of dollars for my server and RAID, has massive file storage and complete server customisation options. 🤔
If that is not the case, could someone be kind enough to tell me how to remove this distracting advert across the top of all my admin pages. I don't mind it being dismissible (like the site upgrade notifications) but currently it's burned into the top of every page.
Is this a sign that Invision plans to eventually end independent hosting? If so, a sad day and I will of course need to make my own plans to migrate. 🙁
    Thanks.
Update: I see a related thread started just a few hours ago:

Except it doesn't. Posts is only for forums. It does not block any other Community application, such as Blogs, Pages, Calendar, etc. Having the option to block/ignore whole and outright an entire account is crucial. If we aren't going to see this in 4.5, I'll be looking for a 3rd party solution.

Tripp★ reacted to AlexWright in Ignore / Block
So, the Ignore feature is extremely lacking in all of what should probably be essential functionality. Currently, by default, you can only ignore someone's: Forum Posts, Messages, Signatures, and Mentions. While that's great and all, it's an extremely simplistic view of an Ignore/Block function. All major platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc) have a way to Block and/or Ignore a user account. This hides all of that user's comments and contents and/or blocks them from viewing your content and profile. This is a major oversight in functionality that's missing in the IPS software. Not to mention that the Ignore function misses almost all of the other IPS default applications (Pages, Blogs, Gallery, Downloads, Calendar, Statuses, etc). The entire Ignore function feels like it was just slapped on to solve a singular issue (Forums) and never touched again. What an Ignore / Block function should be able to do:
Ignore all or some of a user's content. Block a user from contacting you (Blocking messages and mentions). Blocking a user from your profile and content. Most users prefer Ease of Use with this. If you're blocking someone, you (usually) have a good reason to. The current ignore feature on IPS is basically bare-bones and doesn't really do a great job at what it does. It can definitely be better, and hopefully this can start that.

There is no great way of sharing the news? Maybe not, but there is an absolute disastrous way of doing it, and naturally, that's the option Invision went for. You can't defend that.
I am not annoyed about the price increase - the writing has been on the wall for that for a long time, it's been a long time coming, I think most of us see that. Although I think that 55% increase more is a bit much in one go, but that's my problem and I will have to deal with it. Unexpected price increases with no advanced warning or even notice what-so-ever has just gone and dissolved a good chunk of confidence I have in IPS as a company.
This is what I'm really annoyed about. This came out of the blue! There was no prior announcement (Before the fact) and only came after the fact after people started noticing which is an absolutely appalling way to deal with it.
ANY form of notice after a good period of time say - 6 months (One renewal period) before the fact would have been a much better way of dealing with it. It would have given people a chance to be prepared for what was coming, to make arrangements thusly.
Also the email calling this "Not bad news" - you're having a laugh, aren't you? You're right; it's not bad. It's terrible. Also not a fan of posting my problems publically, as my site is NSFW. I'm not a fan of that - at all. If most of your support tickets are "How to do X", or "How do I set X up" then you should make it clear that those questions could be asked in whatever forum you have set up. But quite often my problems, for example, are actual problems, not me asking how to do X.
There was a better way of sharing the news, and as usual you picked the worst option imaginable. Your "Good-Feels Corporate Speak" doesn't change any of that. I will be seriously considering my future with IPS software, I'm not happy with being reliant on Invision Software for my site, and haven't been for a long time, this is yet another nail in the coffin for me.

    Reasonable enough.
However; can we have the ability to edit our reviews? I noticed that once they're posted, you can't edit them. Say, in a hypothetical situation I leave a scathing review because it didn't work, there's no support despite it being advertised and so on. It's professional - not childish or insulting and only stating facts. The developer comes back reads the review and makes the corrections, and releases an update that fixes everything. I have tested the new version and it works - I'm happy. The developer still has a rather negative review that can't be changed.
Also some kind of version counter. So it says what version the review was for, or something? That is so if my review can be read by some else and they see it was for version 1.0.0 (for example) and see that in 1.0.1 the issues were addressed and therefore my review is clearly out of date.
I did some reviews already; however I'm regretting in doing so because either the content wasn't good enough, or it's outdated; or other information has come to light. But I can't edit them, which is putting me off from writing reviews all together.
