It seems you blocked everyone there. The * is a wildcard character. So essentially an "Anything here". So for example, if you added 10.1.*.100 it would block 10.1.10.100, and 10.1.5446521551.100, but would not block 5.1.5.1. In your case, you added *, so said to block anything where the IP matches anything

The best and recommended path would be to upgrade your license so you can start your community on the latest release. Which is not only more secure, modern, and stable in the sense of the software itself but likely going to be hard to find the insecure requirements to run PHP 5.6 and other corresponding server technology, which is out of support itself.
If you do go by finding it online, please note that is not legal, even if you have a license, as that is piracy. Not only is that illegal but pirated copies of software also have back doors, trojans, viruses, and the alike which will compromise your server, community, data, etc... causing more harm than good.
The only legal way to run the software would be if you had a backup of the files on your system. Otherwise, you need to upgrade your license and start your community on the latest release if you do not. If you have any questions on upgrading, please submit a contact request and we can help you.

So, to me, this is absolutely bonkers.

IPS' team has noticed that their plugin community is a fraction of what it used to be, thinks this is because everyone has switched to bespoke work (You sure it's not the other way around? People using bespoke work /because/ the plugin community has a fraction of the size it did back when there was a free version and before IPS was trying to be everything for every person by default?).

So they /murder/ pre-made plugins. No, we're not going to see thriving new marketplaces. Excited devs will start some, none of these will be as active as the current one, most if not all of these efforts will peter out quickly. Not having the marketplace in the panel, not having them vetted by IPS, not having people browse over them prior to purchasing IPS (and plan out a setup with plugins), not having their plugins listed on IPS' websites are all small cuts that together, cut deep. IPS' website was never a limiter on other marketplaces (they've always existed for themes and some plugins), but free advertisement to those who did have those. You're merely taking away an option and your stamp of approval.

And you do this brilliant move in the middle of a version, announcing it to your costumers roughly a month up-front.

Definitely not obvious you're springing it this way to ensure customers don't either, mass-hug a former major version to keep their plugins, or start planning migrations away from IPS between the time of announcement and release.

Now, months after it happened, I google 'Invisionpower plugins marketplace' and find nothing on the first page.

Sincerely, as someone who was a fan once of IPS, you people suck.

I am also stumped why the marketplace or at least a directory of available plugins and apps is no longer available. Not like the older days when it was easy to find a solution to certain things within minutes.

wish you luck in the future Martin!

I've been using IPB since 2006 with the MSSQL driver.   I was always attracted to the flexibility of the platform with minimal programming.
Recently tech support has become more difficult.  It's harder to find code examples and removing the marketplace killed a creativity source for me.   I had a stroke a few years ago, so my development skills are retarded, but still I believe this is one of the poorer organized forms in regards to technical documentation.
A wiki, kept up to date by your community, would really help in development IMHO.
    Good luck all!

This is not to provide feedback on the feedback (how meta!), but to provide some conceptual philosophy around communities vs social media for other Invision Community owners.
Social media, at its philosophical core, is meant to be 1-to-many.  Its a single user broadcasting his thoughts or feedback at large to the world ("look at this interesting thing I did today!").  It is most similar to Status Updates in IPS.
Forums are meant to be many-to-many. It's many users who publish their collective thoughts ("what do you think about X?"). When you enter the forums, there is an intrinsic understanding that you agree to the public discourse, whether you agree with the opinions or not. You voluntarily opted in to the community at large.
I view it like a workplace.  You may not like all of your coworkers, but you coexist because you have a unified and larger purpose.
Targeted ignores at one person should be applied only in areas where the publication of content is meant to be 1-to-many.  This means areas such as: personal messages, status updates, private albums, private blogs.
Targeted ignores in other areas, such as forums, don't make sense.  Just because you ignore a person doesn't mean that his contribution to the conversation - and the quotes and requotes and related conversation - will stop.  The conversation continues, and the contribution is part of the public discourse.
In a community, the philosophy of ignore should be held to the standard of the community level, not the single user level.  Does the user break the community standards that are universal to all members? This standard is in contrast to: do I personally like or want to tolerate this other person?
On a final note, I want to emphasize that i share these thoughts not because I'm trying to stop any feedback of Ignore.  There are some great suggestions in there! But I also think community managers need to not let technology be the go-to fix of human behavior all of them time.  Community management is ultimately people management more than tech management. Sometimes we need to talk - openly and bravely - about tolerating people we don't like in the pursuit and conversation of a larger goal.

While I understand there may be previous requests by different users, we are trying to ascertain the OP's request. If they are the same, we will merge this into that topic as one standing request. Please keep in mind while we read every suggestion, it does not mean they will be implemented in full or at all as they were requested.

My forum need a 'block' feature. It works well on Facebook, someone stalks me, they are blocked - never to be seen again.
Call it a Ban feature. Possible?

This update took a bit longer than I anticipated, as I forgot there's a lot of code that needed to be updated to meet the new marketplace policies before an update can be pushed through, but hopefully the new version should be added shortly.
The new version will work as a drop-in replacement for the current Account Deletion feature in IPS. All the logic for this will be re-routed to the Account Deactivation application, and a new button in the Security page will be added for standard account deactivation as well.
All legacy URL's to the old account deactivation pages will still function, however, just in-case you have these linked anywhere else within your community.
This release will just focus on bug fixes and updating to ensure compatibility. I'm planning to still add some feature updates in a future release, such as adding the ability to either restrict or require moderator approval before users with active warnings can request to have their accounts deleted.
This way users can't simply delete and re-register an account any time they get in trouble to mitigate any penalties they have received.
I might also add an option to simply add the users e-mail to the sites banlist if they request an account deletion with active penalties.

I'll be pushing an update this week to address this. I currently need to evaluate the best way to proceed with the application as well, with the implementation of IPS' own account deletion feature.
I believe this application still provides some valuable features missing from the core implementation, so I'll try to continue supporting it until that is no longer the case.

How do I turn this off? I already have a third party application that deals with account deactivation and deletion - which suits my needs far better than this and apparently the data download feature doesn't work either. (Error: Call to a member function getTimestamp() on int (0)) Or something of the like.

We've just pushed out a patch that should address these issues with appearing to be logged out on first visit.
Please apply it from AdminCP > System > Get Support  - In the 'Invision Community' box, you'll see an optional patch (if applicable to your community).

I do not think that we should be awarding points to private messages at all, so I'll discuss that with the team.
Regarding the follow/unfollow - that is true but you can only do that once per content item/node. It is a design choice as we did not want to start removing points when content was deleted as it may drop people back down ranks.
You can design the system to reward follow/react much less than posting, etc so anyone that wants to spend hours clicking buttons doesn't get a lot from it.

I have moved this to our feedback area, but its not something that is specifically an exploit. Its annoying, yes, however people like this would be very quickly exposed, and its really something that is a moderation issue.

Well that's depressing. It's unfortunate to see such longstanding issues persist.
I understand that addressing them might not be a priority in the current 4.X version, however, it's disheartening to learn that this matter has been lingering for quite some time without a resolution.
IPS Staff: It would be reassuring to know if there are any plans or considerations for addressing these concerns in future updates.
    Kind regards.

I started rebuilding achievements on a site with 5.8M items.  It's so far around 2% after about 5 min.
It will rebuild everything... or you could have it only award for content submitted since a specific date.
