  1. Would it be better to have a Class Thread, similar to Cloud Discussion? I'm asking because certain topics are exclusive to that group and when mixed with Classic, it seems like there's a hierarchy where Cloud is given more attention and Classic is neglected. Even from a business perspective, I understand that coding is faster in Cloud.

There are a lot of topics covering this but the above post from Matt will give details. We will be further integrating with external services, as Matt mentioned, to further fill this gap.

The topic link seems to be removed as it is no longer available. Maybe the link is wrong?

If you purchased an application that has a renewal cost, you would need to have the renewal paid to download it again.

You can renew it by visiting:

    https://invisioncommunity.com/clients/purchases/

You don’t have to purchase the entire app again, but the subscription does need to be current to access it again. (If it was already installed, you could have kept using it.  But if it’s downloaded again… it must be active.)

In the past when we had to install it ourselves via our websites I made makeup copies of the applications I have gotten for such a reason. Is this way of doing things not even an option anymore?

  4. Hello, I have an application I have gotten and wanted to re-download it as I did some work on my website. When I go to the application to download I can't do so as it just says renew first before I can redownload it even an older version.. I thought the buyer was allowed to download the resource I bought. I just wanted to understand if I'm understanding it correctly or not.

This was discussed in a different topic.

Unless the resource is an application or plugin, it would not be supported in marketplace. The suggestion was to attach the file to a forum post.

Even with all of this how does the maker get pay if not via the marketplace? That really never answer per the issue as well. the information is great but never address in the link details.

Overkill, probably, but this would solve the situation:

    1. Create an application, with a single admin module
    2. Add the zip file as a resource in the application
    3. The admin module could then display instructions on what to do, along with a link to the zip file to allow it to then be downloaded and manually installed by the user

    POC

(NE) Zip file example 1.0.0.tar 32 kB · 0 downloads

    plus dev folder

    neappzipfile.zip 11.86 kB · 0 downloads

I get it, still how does the maker of said stuff get funded if they want to sell such an item? Should really something like this be remove from the marketplace as a resource if the maker wants to get pay by it and sell their goods? IPB not doing this does remove the options for such things and limits already that could expand on things then improveing them. Maybe a Marketplace area for this as if it was free and just posted on the forums then I guess that what form but is not the point of the Marketplace to see what others can offer others of the same software to improve via a resource.

I have to wait for @shahed to reply to get more feedback as he is the POC.

In its original version it was permanently displayed in the ACP. IPB made it dismissible for a period of time before it appears again.

Feel free to suggest a change in the Feedback forum.  The staff won’t be able to give you much more of a response outside of that. With that said, this is a horse that has been beaten to death previously. As a result, I would not expect much in terms of additional change.

The dead horse part I didn't know was not keeping up with things. Just saw it after the update.

    Hi @ZakRhyno,

There is no way to permanently disable the notification you receive in your AdminCP at this time.

We want to inform our clients of the latest technologies we are adopting for you to take full advantage of. In addition, not all of our clients visit the Invision Community forum for news, updates and other products we offer.

You are definitely not paying for ads. But it would be wrong from a business standpoint to not inform you of features that can benefit so many communities and mitigate the endless server maintenance many people don't want to deal with. It gives you the time to concentrate on what matters, your community.

As the answer was mark for me and I didn't mark it this the answer to my question not the other one someone force on my thread to answer, if somoene would kindly change it to this one. As I have no way of doing so. Thanks @Gary you were very helpfully in giving an answer to my question than a like to better explain things.

    Nope, by design.

So by design this is force on us and we can't say to no to not sure it to us forever even when we paid for the product? I didn't pay for ads. @Marc Stridgen You like the comment, but could you expand on this concern?

Oh BTW, not the soultion as I didn't mark it and it was force marked. I was more looking for a reply from IPB.

Absolutely! In fact, this weekend I am dealing with 4.7 stuff on our dev instance and expect to get through validating this and the Xmas Lights plugins work.

The year is 2022 and I am having this issue right after buyind IPB in the Cloud version hosted by IPS.

Trying to install Animate theme right after buying from IPS Focus for version 4.7.0.

Sometimes it can be the Version of the theme. Sometimes reinstall helps to. Check your error logs in the Admin area to see what else you can find. They have yet to even push out the error codes like they did and by the looks of never will anymore. Thus when you have issues you always have to figure out what the heck it saying and post a thread each and every time. Bad mo jo jo jo, for them.
