LiquidFractal got a reaction from MediaDiGi in Drip Campaigns Support
Update: I did hear back from rebraf via PM - as his license has currently expired he is unable to reply to the support message.  He says he will continue support for Email Drip Campaigns through 4.x but will have to evaluate the situation as 5.x approaches, depending on Invision's plans and the subsequent changes which may need to be made.
    So stay tuned, I guess.

This is worrying...I spent a bit of time convincing myself to splash the cash on Email Drip Campaigns and have come to rely on it as it's a very important part of any business workflow.
I'd like to hear from @rebraf about the future of this app....?  Will development and updates continue into IPS 5?

This is one of the major reasons we are having to migrate away from invision community after using them since the early 2000's.
We will not be renewing any licences for the foreseeable future.
The new plugin developer restrictions and rules are stopping developers offering new products like in the past.
The steep increase in renewal costs and lack of new apps and plugins are to name another two reasons.
This section used to be buzzing but it's like a graveyard now - Highest Rated Submitters
That in itself should tell a story.
Maybe one day if things could return to the good old days, we will return and renew a licence or two plus all of the plugins and app licences.
Hopefully invision community will have it's Ouroboros moment and have a rebirth, as it has been our number one choice for a CMS as said, since the early 2000s.

LiquidFractal reacted to Square Wheels in New year’s resolution: Make the Marketplace great again
This makes me sad.  I remember visiting the Marketplace to see the new and exciting offerings.  Now those are rare.
I use several mods to make my site what I want.  Regardless of the "community" direction IPS is taking for its high-paying corporate customers, I still use the software almost exclusively as a forum.

I’m not judging in any way, just listing some observations about the developer/Marketplace situation in the recent years.
4.5 tightened the rules drastically. Result: several developers left for good. price increases. Developments needs a self-hosted installation and possibly a demo website. It’s now 850 + 300 annually. Someone starting out as developer really needs some killer products to earn that back and then generate profits. Cloud testing of resources would make it even more expensive (+1,788 annually).  Shift/changes to cloud. The lower tiers don’t have the ability to install third-party products. This decreases the reach and makes running independent third-party shops less useful/profitable.  Signatures turned off. No possibility for passive advertisement through community posts.  Limited compatibility field. Sales can only be created for one version, limiting the income.  I have no magical solutions to offer, but are improvements for this something we could put on the table for 2023?
Currently, I am not very optimistic. We only have a handful of active developers left with continued announcements of departures. If it is still working well for some (?), it’s probably because of a large set of files and existing customers with renewals. But I can’t see how new developers would want to get involved in the current situation, replacing the ones who left or even growing the marketplace.
I understand the costs and downsides for IPS. Paying for code reviews, chargeback fees and of course all the support issues with third-party resources. But then again: Looking at the broader field of online software: all the big players strive with and in part because of a flourishing third-party marketplace. So, improvement could easily be a “win-win-win” situation for IPS, developers and IPS customers.

(I would have some suggestions myself but I don’t want to push the topic in a specific direction, so I am leaving it at the problem statement for now.)

LiquidFractal reacted to Marshall Slemp in Introducing Courses
Courses is a new, lightweight learning platform designed to help you provide a new learning experience for your members.
Courses are perfect for requiring your community to read and understand documentation and to deliver training and lessons to your community.

Let's take a look at how it works!
Instructor led courses are comprised of separate modules, each containing lessons. New courses are created and managed through the AdminCP under Community. Each course has the option to be assigned one or more instructors. Instructors play a crucial role in developing the course content via the frontend, and they are available to assist members throughout their learning journey in the course.
Courses can be set to be optional, or required meaning members must complete this course before progressing to others. Furthermore, courses tie into Achievement Rules, so you have the ability to grant points and/or badges to a member once they finish a course.
Courses can be free or paid, and comprise of one or more modules, each of which contain multiple sessions and an optional quiz.
    Modules and Lessons
Courses wouldn't be much without some lessons! Lessons are grouped into modules, that can have an optional quiz. Quizzes are a great way to verify members' learning progression and understanding.
You have the option to configure modules to be completed sequentially. This pairs nicely with quizzes as you would need to complete the current module before moving on to the next one, ensuring a structured and progressive learning experience!

The lessons themselves are the main content of Courses. Lessons are comprised of the material that students will engage with during their learning journey. Lessons can be designated as optional, so they can be skipped. This is handy when you want to provide organised supplemental information that is not essential.

    Managing Enrollments
As an administrator or instructor, you may need to manage course enrolments from time to time. This can involve enrolling a member on their behalf, withdrawing a member from a course, or deleting an enrollment altogether. There are two ways for managing those enrolled in courses, either through the administrative control panel or the course roster on the frontend.
To access the course roster via the frontend - just click on 'View All Members' when on the course homepage.

    Course Manager
Managing a course is handled via the frontend. Individuals such as instructors, admins, and other authorized members can create and edit modules, lessons and quizzes for a course. You manage quizzes and lessons from within the module view.

I hope that you have enjoyed this overview of Courses. This is just the beginning, we're already considering various possibilities such as integrating with Live Topics, incorporating discussion sections within a lesson, and enhancing the required courses feature so stay tuned!
The features discussed in this announcement are not available for Invision Community Classic. Click here to learn more about switching to our platform to get this and other benefits.

LiquidFractal reacted to chopin in WAMP Installation Issue after upgrade to PHP 8
Ok just figured it out this morning (last night was difficult because there were all kinds of problems with my WAMP setup as it was 2 years old!). PHP had to be upgraded in order to get my 4.x test install working properly, but I was not noticing that each time I went to click "INSTALL", it was giving me localhost//admin/install with 2 double slashes.  But that is what was giving me the headache, and I am sure this person's issue that I linked to had the same problem as me. Removing the double slash was the quick and easy fix.

That’s what I did except have to take a note of all clubs. You can go to ACP clubs :

and you’ll have all the features when you edit a club then compare with the query results for that club. Delete what’s not listed in the ACP and you’re done. 👍

I've fixed the problem! @Giray, this is what I did to solve the problem on my end:
Go to your Clubs listing on your website. When you mouse over each Club title, note down the number for each one, e.g., yoursite.com/clubs/33-my-test-club. In this example, 33 is this Club's club ID number. Do this for each of your existing Clubs (if possible - don't know how many Clubs you're using).  So you're going to make a list of the club IDs of your existing and active Clubs. Go into your server's Control Panel, load up phpMyAdmin and call up your Invision database Browse to the core_clubs_node_map table.  You'll see a list of Club features. There's a field named club_id. This is the only field you need to worry about; check each club_id number against the list you made before and if an entry has a club_id number which is not on your list, delete it because, as @Adriano Faria pointed out, they are no longer tied to an existing club and can be removed. That's it!  I found a fistful and deleted them.  I also just ran clubrebuild again and it ran successfully (with ICE enabled).
I glean from your posts that you aren't familiar with phpMyAdmin, but your tech people could do this easily enough I reckon.
    Hope this helps!

In your ACP, go to the club and click in each content type tab. There you will see the features the system recognizes, then you’ll have to run a query in your PHPMyAdmin to see which features you have in that table for that club. Most likely you’ll have more than shows in the ACP features tab and that’s where the error happens.

I posted this problem on Feb 8, that was just about two weeks ago, and still no word. Note that thanks to @Adriano Faria I just deleted over 100 pages of logs related to this error. Would love to know if, at the very least, @InvisionHQ knows of the error.
If it's not an ICE problem, I am truly sorry for raising it here. I hate pointing fingers, I'm just trying to find out where the problem is and I can't seem to get anyone to figure it out.
As a reminder, these are the various errors I'm still getting.
    - An out of range exception with no log but with this backtrace:
    #0 /home/mysite/public_html/system/Member/Club/Club.php(1370): IPS\Patterns\_ActiveRecord::load(1) #1 /home/mysite/public_html/init.php(935) : eval()'d code(226): IPS\Member\_Club->nodes() #2 /home/mysite/public_html/applications/core/tasks/clubrebuild.php(58): IPS\Member\clubsenhancements_hook_ceClub->nodes() #3 /home/mysite/public_html/system/Task/Task.php(375): IPS\core\tasks\_clubrebuild->IPS\core\tasks\{closure}() #4 /home/mysite/public_html/applications/core/tasks/clubrebuild.php(80): IPS\_Task->runUntilTimeout(Object(Closure)) #5 /home/mysite/public_html/system/Task/Task.php(274): IPS\core\tasks\_clubrebuild->execute() #6 /home/mysite/public_html/system/Task/Task.php(237): IPS\_Task->run() #7 /home/mysite/public_html/applications/core/interface/task/task.php(72): IPS\_Task->runAndLog() #8 {main} Also now, I've discovered that just one of my clubs has an error on top:
[[Template core/front/clubs/header is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]] Note that when I deactivate ICE it gets worse, I get:
    OutOfRangeException: (0) #0 /home/mysite/public_html/system/Member/Club/Club.php(1370): IPS\Patterns\_ActiveRecord::load(5) #1 /home/mysite/public_html/system/Member/Club/Club.php(1906): IPS\Member\_Club->nodes() #2 /home/mysite/public_html/system/Member/Club/Club.php(2046): IPS\Member\_Club->tabs() #3 /home/mysite/public_html/applications/core/modules/front/clubs/view.php(138): IPS\Member\_Club->firstTab() #4 /home/mysite/public_html/system/Dispatcher/Controller.php(118): IPS\core\modules\front\clubs\_view->manage() #5 /home/mysite/public_html/applications/core/modules/front/clubs/view.php(128): IPS\Dispatcher\_Controller->execute() #6 /home/mysite/public_html/system/Dispatcher/Dispatcher.php(153): IPS\core\modules\front\clubs\_view->execute() #7 /home/mysite/public_html/index.php(13): IPS\_Dispatcher->run() #8 {main} Look, I don't know if these are related (forgot to mention the constant CRON messages, but at this point all this is way above my pay grade. I can't figure it out. All I know is that all the errors keep mentioning clubs and 'clubsenhancement'.
Any help would be truly appreciated.

I give up. It still does it with ICE disabled 🥵 so I really don't know anymore. All I know is that even with it disabled, the cron error I just got was with clubrebuild.php and the core. So I really don't know if ICE is still at fault or something left over or in Clubs. I'll stop polluting this support thread and just wait for the next updates and see if the error goes away.
  19. Thanks
LiquidFractal got a reaction from Giray in Improved Clubs Enhancements
I'm wondering if this has to do with old Club content generated a while before this update or something?  I speculate because my test site is 4.7.7 with ICE 2.0.5 and I'm not getting these errors there...but there's only one relatively new club with just a bit of test content (if anything).  Don't have time to address it right now but thought I'd throw it out there.

I'm receiving exactly the same error with exactly the same line numbers (it's listed in the System Log as type uncaught_exception, but viewing the error includes OutOfRangeException::0).
The one difference in my backtrace is that the end of my line #0 reads load(0) instead of load(1).

When I updated I don't think I removed anything, although I'm not sure if the system disabled anything incompatible during this update cycle (it hasn't in the past AFAIK).

I seem to be getting an incessant error and cron failure since upgrading to IPS 4.7.7 (my club rebuild cron is stuck and says it has never run since the 4.7.7 upgrade). The current thinking is that it might be ICE. I’m pasting the backtrace of one of the errors that occurs every half hour or so. Thoughts?
