liquidfractal reacted to rebraf for a file, Email Drip Campaigns
Introducing email drip campaigns!
Drip campaigns are a defined series of emails that are sent automatically to members. For instance, you may want to welcome new users who register on your community, and then send a follow up email a month later to make sure they're getting the most from your site. Or you may wish to send a user a series of marketing related emails when they purchase a specific product on your site. The use-cases are endless, and email drip campaigns are a powerful and versatile tool in any marketer's toolbox.
Until now you would have had to do this manually, maintaining lists of email addresses and remembering dates that you've contacted them. Not anymore! Now you can put your users on "set it and forget it" email campaigns with just a few clicks.
How does it work?
In the AdminCP under the "Members" tab, a new area is available named "Drip Campaigns". You create one or more campaigns in this area, and then one or more steps for each campaign. It's perfectly fine to create just one step if you wish, such as an introductory email to new users. Or, alternatively, you can create multiple steps - as many as you want.
When you create a campaign you define whether the campaign be automatically or manually assigned? Currently you can automatically assign campaigns by:
New user registration User is moved to a new (primary) group User purchases a product or subscription from your site User makes their first post User creates their first blog User creates their first album User creates their first club After creating the campaign you will then create one or more steps in the campaign. When creating steps you can configure:
The title and body of the step. You can use a WYSIWYG editor, or a code editor for finer control. Whether the notification to the user should be sent via email or personal conversation. If using email, whether to use the email wrapper or not If using personal conversation, the conversation starter account You can use bulk-mail style tags for a more personalized touch How long since the last step (or since the campaign was assigned to the user for the first step) before the contact should be sent, including immediately. And then that's it!
If the campaign is set to be assigned automatically, you don't have to do anything further.
If the campaign is not set automatically, or you wish to manually assign it, you can do this from one of two manners:
When viewing a member account in the AdminCP, you can see which campaigns the member has been assigned to, the current progress, the date the next step will process, and the ability to cancel, resume or restart any campaigns. You can also assign new campaigns when viewing an individual member. Alternatively, you can mass-assign members to any specific campaign. A member search form will be presented allowing you to define which members to assign, and all members that match your filter selections (the same selections available when sending a bulk mail) will be assigned. I'll be looking out for feedback as to new ideas and auto-assignment requests as well, so leave me your feedback.

liquidfractal reacted to All Astronauts for a file, Super Search and Stream Results
More Precise Search Result Snippets Customize Gallery stream results Truncate Stream descriptions Searchlight navigable highlighted search terms on the content items themselves
3.0.0 - Welcome Searchlight! Upgraded for Invision Community 4.5
As promised, I've folded Searchlight into SSSR. I also took the time to upgrade it to what I always wanted it to have - navigable search marks on the page itself! I also spent some time to re-engineer how Searchlight works. Now, Searchlight only fires off when you navigate from a linked search result on the search results page. On the clicked-through content item, the Searchlight highlighted search terms can now be navigated - either by hovering over the mark itself revealing previous and next clickable bits, or a browser edge navigator. All mark and browser edge navigation controllers work together and the browser edge navigator also indicates how many marks exist on the page and which mark you are currently navigated to. Those 'active' marks can be formatted separately from all the other marks on the page as well. There's still room for improvement here and down the line I could see adding in a bottom of the page display showing each term, counts of each term, and even the possibility of navigating between the actual search results themselves.
Check out the screen shot for more details.
2.0.0 - The 4.5 update: Invision Community 4.5 now natively truncates search and stream results. Hooray for us, boo for my plugin (Note: this was desperately needed natively anyways, not a big deal). There still remain a few hitches so for 4.5 I've renamed the plugin to Super Search and Stream Results and it now provides the following enhancements to the 4.5 search and stream experience.
1) The new native 4.5 truncation routine clips all search and stream results to the first 600 characters of the content item. For streams this is nothing, for search results this is a problem. If you expect your search results to show highlighted 'hits' on your search term/s in the returned snippet, unless that search term is within the first 600 characters of the content item you are out of luck!
SSSR for 4.4.10 and earlier not only truncated the search/stream results for a speed but I went out of my way to ensure at least something highlightable was returned in the content item for search results. For 4.5 this is, as you can see, still needed. SSSR skips common English stop words (Elastic Search list, to skip common things like 'a', 'the', and so on) and looks for the first instance of a search term in the content item, grabs some text forward and back, and pushes that out to search results, ensuring you will, usually, have something highlighted in each result returned. Works spectacularly for quoted search terms; see the screen shots for the rest.
2) When users make custom Streams, all of their choices for content appear in the description underneath the stream name. That can be a rather large amount of text. SSSR provides an option to truncate all that down with whatever remains available under a 'read more' click. See screenshot.
3) Gallery stream results can be quite heavy, often times loading in 15 or more images per Gallery item. That's a lot of weight for a page. SSSR let's you truncate that all down to whatever level you are comfortable with.
4) When users are on the advanced search / search results page, they probably do not need to be told in the page title that they can 'Search the community'. SSSR provides an option to kill that and replace it instead with the terms searched for with the same appearance as the page title.
Make sure you toggle the searchlight feature ON in settings! Searchlight will not highlight search results in pageheaders - that means content titles. This is intentional. And really, not needed. Searchlight should work most places in most apps but Gallery has been specifically exceptioned OUT due to the post-pageload image popup modal. I might come back to that later.

A chat application for Invision Community, integrated directly into your community!
This is not an external embedded chat feature.
Grapply Chat integrates directly into your community and its members, complete with administrative tools and theming capabilities!
What is it?
Grapply Chat gives your community the option to chat with each other from anywhere within your forums!
Most of the existing chat applications for IPS (that I'm aware of) work using a widget or something similar, and generally center around a chat room or something of the likes. This application is specifically for Member to Member chat conversations. It also displays ANYWHERE on your forums, not as a widget but instead as an overlay to all pages.
Chat with anyone in the community from anywhere. Block / Unblock members from chatting with you. Enable or disable Grapply Chat for specific member groups. View client chat logs from within ACP and download them as CSV, TXT and JSON. The ability to enable/disable Grapply Chat or just chat notifications for your account. The ability to manage your chat blocks from within Account Settings. A full list of online members. A search functionality to search members to chat with. Fully customizable themes using the Grapply Theme Generator so you can rest assured that Grapply Chat will line up with your IPS theme. What's to come?
Member specific permissions. The ability to report a member and include a log of their chat. Customizable chat bots. Configure an external server to alleviate some of the stress that this application may put on your forum database. The ability to send images and other media including oEmbed content from within chat. Support for parsing emojis. Group messages. More to come! Other useful information
Grapply Chat is still in its early beta phase, these features may not perform with the stability you will expect, but future iterations will improve on them. This application may have an undesired performance hit on your forums due to the amount of requests required for it to operate. To alleviate this, you can try to raise the Client Refresh Rate in ACP to help with this. In the future, there will be an option to use a secondary server dedicated to chat processing to help alleviate this. This application is not yet optimized for mobile, and as such will not display on mobile devices. Feedback
I would greatly appreciate feedback while this application is in its beta phase. This is how I will tailor it to fit your needs. Please leave any feedback in the forum topic for this application, or feel free to send me a PM.

liquidfractal reacted to opentype for a file, Pages SuperBlocks
Create the community frontpage you always wanted just with drag&drop! This plugin & template set let’s you create a beautiful frontpage in the style of magazine or newspaper websites. You can display content from all your IPS apps: Core (Clubs, Calendar), Forums, Pages, Gallery (separate Download), Downloads, Blogs. That’s 9 block types in total! But there is more: You choose the look of each block from 6 different layouts! Mix and match however you like! Feature a single article, show your recent clubs, albums, blog entries … It’s totally up to you. And instead of the dull stock block listings, SuperBlocks are appealing and engaging by showing images and teaser texts from the items of your feeds.
Pages application You should be familiar with setting up Pages blocks How does it work:
The SuperBlocks plugin provides templates for regular Pages custom feed blocks. So you get the full power of Pages custom blocks with all their settings and filters. And you use the blocks like any Pages block. You just assign a SuperBlocks template at the end to create a more stylish look for the block.
The SuperBlocks templates can be used in the main content area of any community page, which supports drag&drop slots. It doesn’t work in the sidebar and is not meant for pages with multiple content columns (e.g. a 3-column Pages page). You can create entire Page Builder pages with SuperBlocks or place individual blocks anywhere on your site. SuperBlocks in the main content area work with or without a sidebar next to them.
The layouts are chosen through the number of items you pick (or have) in your feed block. A value of “1” creates one big featured entry. “2” puts two entries next to each other with the first highlighed. “3“ puts three entries in a row. “4” features the first entry and shows the other three entries as a list. “5” uses a two by three grid. “6” features one entry, shows images for two more entries and shows the rest as text only in another row. Higher values than six will be ignored. On mobile the number of entries is reduced to save bandwidth and screen space.
SuperBlocks are of course responsive and by default the templates will try to balance the use of hi-res and low-res images. You can fine-tune this in the plugin settings in accordance with your app image settings and the pages you are creating using SuperBlocks. The templates with more entries are also automatically reduced to fewer entries on mobile devices.
Pages block templates in 6 different styles for each of the following feed types: Pages: Record Feed Forum: Topic Feed Post Feed Calendar: Upcoming Events Clubs: Club Feed Download: Files Feed Blog: Entry Feed Gallery (separate Download): Image Feed Album Feed A settings plugin with these features Show block titles on desktop Show block titles on tablets Show block titles on phones Key color Secondary color Badge overlay color Image settings per app to influence quality and page loading
