  2. Hi @Kevin Carwile, Quick question: I'm considering purchasing this plugin, but was wondering if it plays nice with articles in Collabs? Any known issues? I assume they function all right together, but since as you say an album workflow is linked with its article, what happens for example to a linked album if its article is moved out of a Collab (or deleted)?

  4. HI @TAMAN, Bought the Advanced Footer - looks great so far! A few things for right now: A Save & Reload button would be great to speed things up when flipping between tweaking options and looking at the results on your site. How does one create the wavy line separating rows? Is it possible to insert a custom PHP block I've already created? If so, how would one do that? Thanks! This looks really great!

  6. Yeah, this just gives you the list of Member cards, so you'd still have to find the Member you want. Not sure why it doesn't work on your site though; I don't use the Members list a lot, but I've had this URL in place for ages.

  8. @Charles I can't remember anything about the 3.x functionality, but I'm not sure what you mean by "filtering and sorting." If I click a Member's name on my site, it takes me to his.her profile, with the Activity tab selected. But this tab displays all activity without any filter ability. If I go to my Members list off Advanced Search and click Find Content on a Member's card, again it displays all activity, and on this screen you can filter by content type in the lefthand menu, but you can't set any date range. It seems as if the only way to achieve what this thread is referring to is by creating a custom Activity Stream, but this isn't readily apparent and perhaps this could be made more accessible to admins and moderators? Moreover, I've found some visible glitches with custom Activity Streams (tickets submitted).
  9. Quick question: if one is creating Collabs that are private and only for the Administrator, is it safe to assume that you don't have to put the Admin in an ownership role for the Collab since s/he already owns everything?
  10. Well @Kevin Carwile, I finally decided to purchase the full Collabs version. Even though I might use Groups for something different on my site, there's no getting around the quality of your work (even if I will be pestering you with questions in the coming weeks ). I've tried your Rules app, and I know your work is rock solid, so I'm happy to support you.
  11. Thanks again Kevin. I have a couple more questions, but will ask them later. For now, thank you for your patience with all the questions! EDIT: ok maybe one more question! - I am trying to have a member in a certain group create a database category with the ability to post articles to it. The test member can create the category, but that's all I can seem to do - create categories in the collab without the ability to add an article. Are these permissions controlled in the Group settings of the AdminCP? Because those categories don't show up anywhere in Pages. Everything else makes sense to me - I think I'm still figuring out how Pages/Databases work with your app.
  12. @Kevin Carwile a question about implementing Pages in Collab categories: is it at all possible to allow category owners (who are not an admin) to create their own pages and create/add blocks? If this isn't possible, is it a foreseeable addition in the future? Thanks!
  13. This isn't quite true. To name one important difference: The Clubs function in 4.2 does not allow association of Pages or Databases with created Clubs - Collabs allow you to use all the IPS suite's functions. There's also no way of knowing when (or even if) that ability will be implemented in Clubs. MOreover, I believe I read it's also integrated with @Kevin Carwile's Rules application. Does that sound right Kevin? That's what I know anyway...I'll leave it to others more familiar with the software to describe more differences.
  14. Thanks Kevin. My final question would be (and sorry if it's already been answered in the many pages here): is it possible right now to move existing blogs, pages, databases etc. into created collabs? I think that's the one thing keeping me from buying this right now.
  15. @Kevin Carwile Thanks Kevin. I'm totally into the new Groups function that will be coming with 4.2, but I say I am mightily impressed with your app and can easily see that it's much more granular than 4.2 in its current state at least. You seem to have answered my nagging question re: whether or not you would continue updating this with 4.2 and beyond with a yes, which brings me that much closer to purchasing your app...you do excellent work! One question however: do you see any conflict if, theoretically, one were to use your app alongside Groups?

One observation while testing things out: If you run a Graded quiz with a question featuring an image, and the user clicks it to bring it up in the lightbox, if they click "Full Size" at the bottom left, it counts as a window switch and the user fails the quiz. I'm guessing, though, that this is part of the IPS architecture which your app is integrated with so not sure if you can do anything about it. Just thought I'd point it out though.

Oh no, I actually mean the red REQUIRED text that is beside the question (and answer) when someone is taking the quiz, as in the screenshot below: I don't know if that is part of the IPB core or not, but it would look nicer if at least the REQUIRED text could be removed from beside the question, since it's redundant, especially with the This field is required. at the bottom. Is that possible?
  18. I was copying a category, not a quiz; there were no quizzes at all when I copied the category, so I was copying an empty category with a category icon. And ok, I selected both Study and Graded boxes when I created the category because I wanted to create both. But NOW I'm clearer on the visual difference between the two. I read about the Explanation field but got caught up in reading about something else. Just wasn't paying full attention, apologies I think I was looking for something more than just a textfield for the question title for all quiz questions, and looked at Explanation, and mistook that for a place where you could offer more information about the one-line question. So that leads me to think: maybe you should make the Question title field editable by WYSIWYG instead of only a textfield? For example, if I want to enter a question like: "Who wrote the Phenomenology of Spirit (1809)?", right now I am unable to italicize the book title (which is the standard way to render book titles). So my mistake was looking at the Explanation field to offer more information on the question, when yes, it is obviously for the Study Quiz answer explanation. But I think having more than a textfield at some point would make for more robust question titles . I also think it would help if you could get rid of the REQUIRED text by the question (if possible?), as it doesn't look appealing. Sorry if it sounds like I'm being really critical...I'm not; I wouldn't spend this much time looking at details if I didn't love it so much!

Ok, so here is what I have: the Philosophy category was my first category, and here is a screenshot of the Question screen: So now here is my Music category screen (the category I created by copying Philosophy) and the Question screen seems to have the WYSIWYG field: Hope this helps! Oh, and I definitely selected WYSIWYG in Settings.

  21. Adriano, this is looking really, really cool! Thank you for creating such a great app! I'll have more to say later, as I'm still immersed in creating my first quiz. One minor bug I've found however: If you create category A, give it an icon, set it up etc., then make a copy of it (category B) using the copy function and set that one up, deleting the old icon (from A) and putting in the one you want for B...when you return to category A, it will no longer have an icon (actually if will be there, but will be broken and show 0b in size). Not a big deal - you can upload category A's icon again and all is well. Just thought I'd let you know. About the only other thing I have to say at this point is that a little straightforward documentation might be nice, e.g., how to create a link to the Quizzes page from the Menu Manager (I figured it out, but there wasn't any documentation on that and maybe some people might be left scratching their heads). Keep up the great work! As the owner of a teaching/research/tutoring site I'm already looking forward to updates EDIT: I don't know if this has to do with the Copy function I used to duplicate my first category, but the WYSIWYG field seems to have disappeared completely from my category A! It is still on my category B, but I enabled the WYSIWYG field in Settings but for some reason there is no way to enter descriptive text in my first category. Will try deleting and re-creating it.
  22. Well shut my mouth! I thought it was only for forums posts. I see it's for Gallery items but not Category or Album names, but still it's a great feature to have!

  24. I'm sensing a pattern in recent posts, and that pattern is: IPS Search could definitely use a major upgrade.
