  1. Perhaps a feature that alerts users to new posts if they have been in quick reply or full editor. Basically when the user goes to post, an AJAX or similar popup could say: "New posts have been made since you have last viewed this topic. View New | Continue Post" Where View New would redirect them to the topic, saving their post in the quick reply, or opening a new window/tab for the topic. If they select Continue Post, it should update the topic by posting their post, but redirect them to the 'New Posts' that were made before they posted, but have yet to see.
  2. I'd love to see this put back in via hook, so it would be configurable. Anyone interested in making one?
  3. I highly miss the Forum Led By: text on the forum indexes. It was really helpful for the type of site I run, and I'd love to see it return. So, are there plans of it making a comeback? Thanks! Nowe.
  4. Simply add: User-agent: Yandex Disallow: / To the robots.txt file. Should keep the little bugger away.
  5. I'd like to see a better Member's page, I loved the 2.3.x one, and the block style of that list.
  6. Thanks b, just thought I might bring this to all's attention if you didn't mind
  7. Its not the problem with the upgrade itself...its the problem at what comes after... I installed and upgraded to 3.0.1 today, and when it was complete I went back to the forum index but....It was messed up. All of the links text that had to deal with other modules/apps isn't appearing, and its not the minify javascript option either. bfarber and Brandon D- yeah I know, I'm a tad bit persistent, forgive me for that  Yeah, just wanted to let you all know what might (possibly just me though..) happen. Anyone else? Not that I care, IPS=
  8. I think that they have fixed this in 3.0.1...look at board stats here.
  9. I suppose that would be the business like thing to do...
  10. Well, in that case, you're here why? I know that IPS doesn't have to allow access to the forums. And by community, yes community as these forums have non-registered or licensed users, even though it IS a company forum, its still a community of users. If I where Charles, I probably would have already locked the topic, but I suppose he's sitting back in his chair laughing at the stupidity of the entire situation...
  11. Ah alas, I figured you would have to Charles, that's alright...
  12. I have a feeling that most of those on the forums are team-leads, or something similar. The higher-ups that can deal with end-users and the general community, rather then the back-stage techies and support staff that have their fingertips bandaged from the amount of typing they do... I would go farther into this but I think this is all I truly want to say at the moment (dont care if Charles removes this either:)
  13. Do you have anything productive to add to the community?
  14. As Charles said, you're the one not responding to your own tickets, so how can IPS deal with that, when they get no feedback from you, who is having the issues in the first place?
  15. I'm an RPer, what'd you expect? Besides, the software works. Sure it has bugs, but you can post right?
  16. My participation in this thread shows that I'm board and I like defending friends and allies? Is that not enough of a reason? :ermm:
  17. You're paid to check up on the payees, I get it  Either way, Bobage, even without a refund, you're entitled to convert and leave at any time.
  18. Says a lot about you as well I might add.
  19. +1'd @Brandon. Sure, they might be getting paid to do it, and sure, you might have had problems with them. But they are still people, they don't really have to be 'nice' about the way in which they deal with their customers. Of course however, they want customers (unlike vB apparently) and they want their customers to stay. They don't get paid to listen to our comments or concerns regarding the software that they produce, nor do they get paid to release codes that make the new IP board in some ways like the old one. They do so because they care, and they care because we do as well. I'm not an IPS cheerleader, I'm an IPS supporter, and I love it. Edward V
  20. And why is that bobage? You can't just post something like that and not explain it, especially in this kind of thread.
  21. Well said, and I completely agree. While I might not be a business owner myself, I rely upon all of the support that IPS provides even fore the smallest of customers. I looked around before deciding on a forum software to use. I used the Better Business Bureau to look at all of the software for forums that you have to buy. IPB Certainly caught my eye with their A+ rating and excellent customer reviews, and was the natural choice after that. I'm glad I've sought community hosting (going to get a license and move to their website hosting I think) with them, their service is excellent, and I have never had a complaint. Kudos IPS, Edward V
  22. I'm more worried about rogue mods  ...
  23. I lol'd. Also, is there a way to turn off the 'Delete' feature from the trashcan? If not, I believe it should be included, since if I'm ever going to empty the thing, it's all going, not just one or two posts/topics...
  24. I prefered the IPB 2.3.x version of the restrictions, it made more sense and was better organized in my personal opinion. The new one is still a tad bit confusing.
