  1. You can set a usergroup to not display on the memberlist. Group Settings > Hide this group from member list? > Yes
  2. Lots of other people agree, from what I've seen. I'd be surprised if this wasn't re-introduced in 3.1, or maybe even a subsequent version of 3.0.x.
  3. IPB shouldn't even run on PHP 4. That'd definitely do it.

    favicon

    Don't upload favicon.ico and you'll be fine.
  5. If IPB prompted for FTP login credentials but didn't store them, this would make it much easier for the average user in my opinion. I'm sure many people would appreciate it.
  6. If you give them a link to your CPanel and your username and password for it, that should be sufficient. Edit: Beaten by 5 seconds <_<
  7. Since IPS manually approves all payments to prevent fraud, it can take up to 48 hours for the payment to be approved, especially since it's currently a weekend. It's quite likely that your payment will be cleared within a day or so, though.
  8. I'd say to just get a new host, since you'd end up scaling to tens or hundreds of databases as your forum grew, which would get really messy.
  9. Remove everything except the user-uploaded files (I think it will be /uploads, as well as /gallery and/or /blog if you have them). (I wouldn't be sure of the file names though). Also keep conf_global.php. (Make sure you back everything up first.) Then just upload the files for a clean 3.0.1 install, go to /admin/upgrade and follow the prompts. Also, if you're not comfortable doing this, IPS can do the upgrade for you. Submit a ticket about it.
  10. There's a reason I renewed my support.  IPS
  11. The way I was thinking was to specify users who could use the multimod in the same way you specify forums it's available in. The existing system can do almost the same thing, but this would give finer control (though again, it's not an urgent priority).
  12. I was thinking per multimod, not globally for all of them. That isn't essential though.
  13. Allow member groups (and maybe other things too) to be changed along with changing the topic. This was a feature that I used extensively when I was using ZetaBoards and going without it has made things a bit more complicated. To make sure that the above didn't get abused, allow admins to specify specific users or groups who can use the multi-moderation, instead of making it globally available to moderators. These would be really helpful to me. I don't know how many other admins would make use of these improvements, but it might be worth looking at.
  14. I'm not sure what you're on about with the disappearing posts: This topic went on for quite some time and got really vocal until it eventually started winding down and the author asked for it to be locked. If posts from unhappy customers are removed, then that topic should definitely be gone..
  15. Did you check the permission masks specifically (not just the group permissions)?
  16. This sounds like it'd be best handled by a ticket to IPS.
  17. They just added an option in 3.0.1 for users to choose which one to use.
  18. http://resources.invisionpower.com/index.php?appcomponent=cms&module=articles&article=7666 You will need to be identified as an active customer to view it, though. [That will revert the functionality to what it was in 2.x.)
  19. Dang, I must still be half-asleep. If I remember correctly, there was a mod for 2.3.x that did this. It's pretty likely that someone will make one for 3.0 as well.
  20. Quoted the wrong list item, sorry. Updated my post.
  21. Hold the scroll wheel and drag up about 6 inches. Release.
  22. Already exists. Edit Poll > Make Poll Only
  23. Out of the feedback I've received, about 95% of it has been positive. Everyone seems to love the new skin. Great job IPS. :)
  24. Just to point something out: Boards hosted on IPS shared servers have consistently been the fastest ones I've seen, so you're paying more but getting much better performance than you'd get elsewhere. You also get IPS's support, which is much better than you'll get from almost any other host.

    Board Notices

Yeah, this could have any number of potential uses on virtually any board. Definitely support the idea.
