Martin A. reacted to Stuart Silvester in 4.7.16 (This site) Pagination on forums with a sub-forum doesn't "work"
We have released a patch to address this issue. Please go to AdminCP > System > Support and apply the patch from the first/top left box. If you do not see an option to install the patch, you already have the latest release.

Martin A. got a reaction from SeNioR- in 4.7.16 (This site) Pagination on forums with a sub-forum doesn't "work"
If you go to this link, clicking page 1 in the pagination does not do anything at all. you can go to other pages, but it requires a full redirect, not a smooth content replace with javascript. Scroll down a bit before clicking, and notice how you'll end up on top of the page afterwards.
https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/forum/497-technical-problems/page/3/
This will only happen if the forum you view have a sub-forum. Works perfectly fine here

This file will be supported by me, from now on, on my board: https://www.sosinvision.com.br/index.php?/file/298-community-map/
You can redeem the marketplace purchase keys provided by IPS to keep getting updates and support for this application.
Thank you.

Unless this is a distributed application, not running in CiC, just make an executable file that you run with crontab at 5:00.

Martin A. reacted to Joel R in Buying new self hosted licence - how to choose few applications?
The new terms only begin once you opt in to the new terms.
There's a certain amount of hysteria that these changes are being applied retroactively.
If you don't accept or want the new terms and want to coast along on v4, then don't accept the new terms.
It's understandable that clients with your worldview will skip renewals, perhaps because of experiences in other forum ecosystems. It would make sense that you are cautious about continuing to invest in an active license if, for example, your forum developer doesn't release any new features after years of no activity. If you truly and authentically evaluate IPS on its own merits by looking at the Release Notes and the Company blog, however, you'll find a development and release cycle that is robust, monthly, and feature rich.
The terms by IPS seem more stringent in light of other ecosystems. I invite you to evaluate IPS on its own merits, instead of imposing the fears from other vendors.

Actually, several clients were invited to a private feedback group and have been giving us feedback for the past several months on how best to re-approach Invision Community Classic. Our goal was to make self-hosting viable for the future.

Martin A. reacted to Charles in Buying new self hosted licence - how to choose few applications?
We no longer sell Invision Community Classic with individual applications. This is in preparation for v5 where there will no longer be a separation for the "applications" like there is now. It will just be all bundled together and more tightly integrated.
Old pricing for full Invision Community Classic was $850 upfront and $300 per year.
New pricing is $499 upfront and $199 per year.
You can reach out to sales if you have questions about pricing or options.

Martin A. got a reaction from Gabriel Torres in Default coluns in core_members
'has_blog' and 'has_gallery' is from IPB 3. Was used as a way to check if a member had a blog or gallery before displaying links to manage them
<if test="hasblog:|:$author['has_blog'] AND IPSLib::appIsInstalled( 'blog' )"> <li><a href='{parse url="app=blog&module=display&section=blog&show_members_blogs={$author['member_id']}" base="public"}' title='{$this->lang->words['view_blog']}'>{parse replacement="blog_link"}</a></li> </if> <if test="hasgallery:|:$author['has_gallery'] AND IPSLib::appIsInstalled( 'gallery' )"> <li><a href='{parse url="app=gallery&module=user&section=user&user={$author['member_id']}" base="public"}' title='{$this->lang->words['view_gallery']}'>{parse replacement="gallery_link"}</a></li> </if> 'conv_password' and 'misc' is also IPB3. Looks like this was the password hash from whatever software you converted from.
/** * Joomla! */ private function joomla ( $username, $email, $password ) { if ( $this->parent->_memberData['conv_password'] == md5 ( $password . $this->parent->_memberData['misc'] ) ) { return true; } else { return false; } } All those google_* columns must be from a 3rd party

You can remove that from the template.
Replace the content of the template "viewMarker", in communitymap > front > markers, with the content of the attached file.
viewMarker.txt

There's no widget available for this app, but you can add it as an iframe.
You should be able to add this to a Pages block, select "Manual HTML".
<iframe src='{url="app=communitymap&module=communitymap&controller=showmap&do=embed" seoTemplate="communitymap"}' width='100%' height='300' frameborder='0' scrolling='no' marginheight='0' marginwidth='0'></iframe>

Martin A. got a reaction from G17 Media in Can’t post in your blog
The Courses app will not be available to self-hosted customers.
You can not purchase to the creator pro package in order to gain access to the courses app on your current self-hosted setup. You would then need to migrate your community over to the cloud.
Only customers that have one of their cloud packages can post comments in blog posts and news entries related to cloud-only features.

Martin A. reacted to Princess Celestia in Gracefully handle the Elasticsearch server being unavailable
In a community set up to use Elasticsearch, the Elasticsearch server becoming unavailable for any reason, even temporarily, causes Invision Community to begin throwing unhandled exceptions. It's most obvious on user profiles which turn into public-facing internal server errors when this happens.
This situation would make sense to handle more gracefully by detecting it and, at minimum, doing at least the following:
Show an alert to administrators that the Elasticsearch server is inaccessible, similar to the ones that appear when the Redis server or background tasks aren't working correctly. Gracefully degrade user profiles and other areas of the suite that depend on the search engine to display everything they can which doesn't require the search engine (profiles without activity feeds or with empty activity feeds, for example). -
Martin A. got a reaction from galenb in Tutorial for making a test install?
He means the /home/xxxxtest/test.xxxx.com/forums/datastore folder. This holds cached data which can mess things up. Emptying this does not cause permanent data loss.

Martin A. got a reaction from WiCKeDxgg in Is there a way to pull sales?
Depends on what kind of values you need to get. There's two pages related to Commerce income and purchases in the statistics tab in the ACP. You can export that data as a CSV file.
It that doesn't work for you it is possible to run some SQL queries to get your data if you have access to the database.

Martin A. got a reaction from Hisashi in [Suggestion] Storage method: FTP
Those highlighted are S3 compatible and can be used by Invision Community.
Mount it as a volume on your server and access it as if it was part of your file system, and use the "Custom URL" in the file storage setting to point it to the other server.

The button above the map is only for entering member locations. All other markers have to go through the "Browse Markers" link. You can also use the "+ Create" menu in the header, which is always available.
