LaCollision reacted to Marc Stridgen in Commerce: bug when upgrading/downgrading a Package
Ive split this into its own topic
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.

Commerce Feedback: Voiced but Unheard
Commerce is in need of some dire improvements considering it is a life-support system for many communities.
Recurring recommendations have been made for years but left unheard. While we understand that Commerce and especially payment method integration requires a lot of development, I think we can all agree on its necessity and the importance of a good customer experience.

LaCollision reacted to Matt in PHP timeout every 3 hours
I'd assume the DOM structure of the incoming email is bad. It's hard to say specifically without looking at a sample incoming email.
-
LaCollision reacted to Jim M in PHP timeout every 3 hours
This kind of falls in a grey area as the incoming emails for support module is kind of in an "as-is" state due to deprecation. However, I have tagged a developer to this to evaluate if there are any recommendations here.

I would suggest checking your cron logs. If it's a task, it will likely be showing there. Also, ensure you are running the latest release

LaCollision got a reaction from Clover13 in Commerce: withdrawals with Stripe
Hi Invision,
Withdrawals with PayPal are definitely an issue in Invision right now.
For them to work, it is indeed necessary that the Payouts are activated on our PayPal account.
However, these Payouts are only offered by PayPal in a handful of countries – for example not in France.
And PayPal's sales and technical support is absolutely disastrous; it is nearly impossible to reach them or get a response.
We are therefore forced to make manual payments, and it is a real hassle.
Also, would it be possible to integrate Stripe's Payouts solution?
https://stripe.com/connect/payouts
Their implementation seems much simpler to me than PayPal's.
And since Stripe is already integrated into Invision, I think it wouldn't be a huge job!
What do you think?
Thank you!

Hello,
When I tried to upgrade my site to the latest version, it told me:
The license key is not valid. Please contact account assistance.
While the next renewal time is on March 29, 2023.
Also my another suite, the same problem.

Probably related: Commerce pages create a “GeoIP Error”.
[httpResponseText] => Unauthorized
[X-Cache] => Error from cloudfront
[content] => License Key Invalid

LaCollision reacted to Sonya* in Force Guests to Pay First then create an invoice
This is not about guests, but about how IPS is designed.
See the page: _https://irosacea.org/subscriptions/ When you click on one of the Subscribe now buttons, you will be redirected to the Checkout page. The URL of the Checkout page contains the invoice number in its URL, e. g. _https://irosacea.org/checkout/XXX/ and this invoice (XXX) is already created before you even start to fill out the Checkout form.
So it is not that users submit invoices without filling in the information. They will not be able to proceed without filling out the information. This is the IPS that creates the invoice as soon the page is just shown to the user. It is just too early.
If a user is just curious about what happens after clicking on Subscribe now, the invoice is already generated for being curious. Theoretically, the bots can generate invoices as well. Just by crawling all URLs on the site.

As mentioned by @opentype, we issued a patch for this. You can find it by going to ACP -> Support.

LaCollision reacted to Marco Junior in Notifications by push for commerce support section
The title of the suggestion says it all.
I've been an IPS customer for some time, I use the system in 2 companies with totally different segmentations.
I can say that the IPS support system is extremely useful, so much so that I chose to use it on my private game server.
It turns out that players of any type of game can't stand having to constantly view emails.
So it would be very helpful if you could insert the push notification system to the support system too, once a response from the Administration is sent, once the ticket status is changed make the player be notified via (push) it would be extremely useful not just for the gaming community but in general.
PS:
If this suggestion is approved please release this to customers (self hosted).
I see that most of the new features were introduced to customers who pay hosting on IPS, however it would not be a good investment for my business model to pay a large amount of money every month to have this type of feature.
I see new features being introduced to the system just for these customers and it has me quite disheartened.

LaCollision got a reaction from SeNioR- in IPS 4.6.10: « M4A » audio file missing in \IPS\File
Hi Marc,
Thank you!
Oh, and I forgot, it also needs to be added in the ips.ui.uploader.js javascript:
line 14:
var iconMap: … 'm4a': 'file-audio-o', … line 915:
if( [ 'mp3', 'ogg', 'wav', 'm4a' ].indexOf( file.name.substr( ( ~-file.name.lastIndexOf(".") >>> 0 ) + 2 ).toLowerCase() ) !== -1 ){ isAudio = true; }

LaCollision reacted to KT Walrus in download invoices improvement
I found this 3rd party cloud service for converting HTML to PDF:
https://www.paperplane.app
Maybe someone can implement a Commerce plug-in for generating invoice PDFs (from a template) using this 3rd party API? Looks like this service costs $25/month at a minimum.
I have attached the PDF created from this page. Obviously, the theme used here needs some tweaking (and maybe some page breaks), but this would probably work great for invoice PDFs.

I also found this Google documentation on running headless Chrome:

LaCollision reacted to KT Walrus in download invoices improvement
The best way to generate server-side PDFs is to use headless Chrome to convert HTML to PDF running in a docker container.
I suggest that IPS implement and deploy an API for HTML to PDF conversion like the Spam Service and update Commerce to use this API to generate and store PDFs of invoices for download/email attachment.
Here is a link to a docker container that could be used to implement such a server-side HTML to PDF generator:
https://hub.docker.com/r/selenium/standalone-chrome
There already may be other 3rd party web services available that Commerce could use, but I think it would be better for IPS to host the HTML to PDF service and make that service available to Commerce and app/plugin developers through an HTMLtoPDF class.
