  1. Please ask that question in one of the Support forums. Thank you.
  2. Like the previous question, this is not Feedback. You need to use the peer to peer forums for questions like that. Thank you.
  3. You said: "and IP.Chat does not appear in my ACP so that I can install it or change the settings". Did you perhaps rename your Admin directory and, if so, do you now see a *new* ./admin directory? If that's the case, move the files in new ./admin directory to your *renamed* Admin directory, then check and see if it's listed as an installable application.
  4. Hello. Yes, this section is reserved for Feedback. If you're a Customer, you must login to the Forum using the *same* email address and password that you used when you purchased the software. Doing so will give you full access to the other sections. If you created your Forum account before purchase, then simply logout and log back in to synchronize your permissions. If you continue to have a problem, just send a regular Email to: accounts@invisionpower.com and they will be able to straighten out any issues. Thank you.
  5. Hello. Per the pinned rules, questions of this nature must be asked in the appropriate Forum, or via a Support ticket filed in your Client Area. Thank you for your cooperation.
  6. Doesn't sound like you do, but if you have a WHM/cPanel server then 5.2.11 is an option in EasyApache.
  7. I moved this, since it wasn't about IP.Content, and +1 for the ideas. Thank you.
  8. Hello. In order to download that skin package, you must have an active Support contract (be a member of +Active Customers). But yes, they are still in Beta. Since this isn't exactly Feedback, I'll lock this topic rather than move it to the correct forum, so you can see the answer. Thank you.
  9. Here ya go. ;) Hello, Please note that Invision Power Board is a commercial product and as such, you must purchase a license to use the software permanently and/or obtain technical assistance. You may find more benefits to purchasing a license here. If you are an existing customer, please log into your client center and follow the instructions for upgrading your IPS forums account, found at the bottom of the first page you see. We look forward to helping you!
  10. Yes, the forums_search_delta was dropped, and the two other ones created, in umm.... one of the point releases. Don't remember which one, off the top of my my head. If you're running v3.0.5, I know the following will work since it's what I do on my dedi. Remove all instances of forums_search_delta and replace with the two new ones in your config files and cron jobs. Replace /xxxxx with /your-user-account-name, if applicable, otherwise remove that part of the path. Here is a typical cron pair, taken from an install of mine: */15 * * * * /usr/local/sphinx/xxxxx/bin/indexer --config /usr/local/sphinx/xxxxx/etc/sphinx.conf core_search_delta forums_search_posts_delta forums_search_topics_delta members_search_delta downloads_search_delta gallery_search_delta calendar_search_delta blog_search_delta --rotate > /dev/null 2>&1 0 3 * * * /usr/local/sphinx/xxxxx/bin/indexer --config /usr/local/sphinx/xxxxx/etc/sphinx.conf --all --rotate > /dev/null 2>&1 NOTE: The above jobs are for an install with all core applications: Board, Blog, Downloads, and Gallery. REMOVE any that are not applicable to your install (e.g. blog_search_delta, downloads_search_delta, gallery_search_delta). Hope that helps.
  11. Since I see you've now posted this in the Peer to Peer section, I'll close this one rather than move it. And as was said, yes, please open a ticket with Support, and flag it as Critical if your Forum is down. Thank you.
  12. No, that error was something else and was board-wide. It's fixed now.
  13. You will need to post in the appropriate peer to peer support forums for this sort of inquiry, please. This section is for Feedback. To gain access to the peer to peer forum, you must have an active support contract with us. If you have any questions I recommend you contact our accounts assistance department for help. Thank you!
  14. Per the rules pinned above: IP.Board Feedback Do you need technical support? You can obtain support via the client area, or you can try to obtain peer-to-peer support at IPS Resources. Did you find a bug in IP.Board? If you believe you've found a bug please post it to the bug tracker. As said in another post, you must have an active Support contract to access the Peer to Peer sections. If you do have an active license, please contact account assistance. Thank you!

  17. Another very nice skin, Aspire. Thank you!
  18. And for expediency's sake, PM one of the Staff members as well. Charles and Mark both replied here, so either of them will do.
  19. Thanks for adding that, I've never used PLESK. I'll add one more: Direct Admin. The suffix port is 2222 by default, so: http(s)://chosen-prefix.myhostingcompany.com:2222 would get you to the DA control panel.
  20. What you quoted in italics is the nameserver's name. You probably have another one set to ns4876.myhostingcompany.com as well. This is used for DNS resolution. The actual *server* name has to be something else. But, like the nameserver, it can be related to the overall Domain you want to run the server on, if that's what you want. You said "When I want a new server secured and configured", so I'm assuming you've leased a new dedicated server and are transferring existing site(s) to it? If so... server.mydomain.com is valid and commonly used. But you can use *almost* any prefix you want, i.e server, host, bling, blah, dazzle, etc. There's at least one restriction on the prefix that I can't quite remember off the top of my head, and *I THINK* involves using a number as the first digit. Just let the tech know what prefix you want to use for the server name itself, and you should be good to go there. Some extra info you may find useful: If your new server is using WHM/cPanel in a default configuration, you'll access WHM using http(s)://chosen-prefix.myhostingcompany.com:2086(2087), cPanel with http(s)://www.myhostingcompany.com:2082(2083), and your site visitors will likely use http(s)://www.myhostingcompany.com/ to view your website or Forum. If you decide to continue using the same nameservers as before, you often CAN do this though not always. You may want to define new ones in any case. It will take a couple days to propagate all the site moves anyway, so now would be the time to do it if you want to. DNS lookups which now use ns4875.myhostingcompany.com and ns4876.myhostingcompany.com, will start using your new nameservers after the change has propagated. Hope that helped.
  21. I should also add: if you HAVE bought the software and cannot login here, even with the right information, please send an email to Support or Sales.
  22. You don't appear to be a Customer, since your group is "Members" rather than "+Active Customers". IP Board is paid software. Have you purchased it? If not, do so, and then you will have access to the full Forum as well as Technical Support. If you have purchased it, you need to login here with the SAME email address and password that you used when you bought it.
  23. Yeah, that's true. I wish there were a way to change the messages being displayed about bots doing things like that. Something along the lines of "Google is being told to bugger off". ;)
  24. OK, now I understand what you're asking about. That section is for the creation of an Authentication Key, which is used INSTEAD of a manually entered password in an SSH client. On my server, I have Password Authentication turned off, and use Auth Keys exclusively. For that, you can generate an Auth Key inside cPanel, or with Pageant (which is included with the Putty SSH Client package). If you want to connect using Password Authentication (and *most* Hosts use this method) instead of an Auth Key, you don't need to worry about it. Just get an SSH program and enter the host/user/password details. I recommend Putty ( http://putty.org, which leads you to http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html ). It's free and works perfectly. Get the correct release version package for your Operating System. If you're using Windows, here's the direct link: http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty-0.60-installer.exe That should get you started.
  25. If you're on Shared or Reseller Hosting, you would need to ask your Host whether or not you have SSH access. If you don't, many hosts will enable it if you ask their Support to do so. (One of mine does, and did for me).
