That can / will fundamentally change a conversation. When someone quotes, they are responding to a specific piece of content. If you make that content dynamic, it can make the person that replied look like a fool... Especially if the post doesn't show to have been edited. 

Have you cleared your browser cache after turning dev mode on? 

@TheWorldNewsMedia.org I'm not interested in this topic, or any debate.  Aiming your misguided tone toward me, however, is sorely misplaced. I don't drink the kool aid, and you assuming I do based on a contributor tag is short sighted and, frankly, insulting. 

I made it clear IPS could do better with mobile in my comment. They also haven't ignored it. They may not yet have an answer for the feature set your looking for, but they haven't ignored it. The point of my comment, quit with the whining about mobile and do what you need for your community first.

IPS has stated they aren't ignoring mobile, yet for some reason people like yourself keep belaboring on a topic focused on a specific mobile approach, PWA. 

Instead, would it not be more constructive to focus on the feature set you're looking for? Mobile, that's a broad topic... What about mobile are you wanting solved? Leave out the HOW, and focus on the specific WHAT you need solved.

The begging and condescending tone, toward IPS, used in these topics is getting quite old. IPS has weighed in briefly on this and still identifies limitations for PWA. And believe me, they read these topics. The core platform has a mobile theme, I use it daily without issue. 

Is there room for improvement with mobile, sure... But using a tone that comes off as condescending of IPS and demanding for a very specific solution, to a problem for which you may not have the complete picture, comes off as simply an insult, in my opinion, to IPS.

You want better mobile support for your community? Make it yourself... Create a modified mobile theme tailored toward your community. Take some ownership in solving the problem for yourself rather than for every client that all have differing needs. 

It also helps to do your research... IPS had a mobile app at one point in the 3.3.x days, it wasn't successful. I can't answer as to why, but there are still Staff posts and IPS Blog posts about it. I created a summary post some months ago with some of the more relevant information about it.

If you click on a forum, while in fluid view, don't update the fluid view filter causing you to lose all your previous forum selection settings. Can you instead redirect to that specific forum and jump out of fluid view?  Or just not update the fluid view filter?

Just because I want to see what topics are in say IPS Development Gateway right now doesn't mean I want to have to reset / reselect all of the forums I want to see in fluid view on a daily basis.

Sure, I can click forum view, then select the IPS Development Gateway, but that's not as intuitive.

Because creating a mobile app that will require untold amounts of support, for which IPS themselves have already tried and failed once, links earlier in this topic, doesn't really sound fun.

Thought I made that clear earlier when I explained the mobile app history with IPS. 

But my point stands... If it's so easy, spin up time to learn the dev side should be simple for anyone. Isn't their slogan something to the effect of "anyone can do it"? You qualify as anyone. 

If it's so easy... Why haven't you done it? The possibilities, and money to be earned, are limitless!

Most are only proficient in php, html, JavaScript, and css. Writing and supporting an app written in objective C and/or Swift is an entire different skill set, never mind the fact that most sites won't use a generic app, they require a white label app. 

A squad / roster system, with a way to track attendance to calendar events. 

Not really following the end goal of the points system. Is it reputation you're after? Or is this something they can trade in? 

A matchmaking type of system? 

There is a pages template system in the MP that mimics, to some extent, clanwars. 

To rule out steam, set your steam custom profile field to type Text, don't worry you won't lose data. That way it's no longer using a custom field type and would bypass all my code. 

Just make sure to set the field type back so steam will function correctly moving forward. 

So I understand your argument, piracy will always exist, so let's make it easier for them? Did I interpret that right? 

Why?  IPS software isn't publicly available unless you've purchased a license.  The source code would still have to be behind a client login.

Google translate, or Chrome translation, may be your friend in this case.

Likely your web host has those ports blocked. You'll need to ask them. If you're IPS hosted, this app doesn't work on their servers.
