derpunker got a reaction from SJ77 in Not remembering logins since 4.7..11 Upgrade
Absolutely my opinion!
Luckily I'm a developer and was able to change the IPS code in a way that the login for the users was working again.
Without knowing the IPS code in parts I would have been lost last night.
I would never use an alpha or beta version on a productive website, but I should be able to rely on a stable version. The cookies are basic functionality and they should be tested well in all possible configurations.

When IPS releases a version, I expect it to be tested and to work like the previous one.
I am not a paying beta tester. 😉

For me, beta is beta and stable is stable. Not every forum owner is a programmer. So IPS developers should keep this in mind.

Hello,
Clicking

Seems to work.
I still see the cookie bar briefly appearing on every page load as reported here.

The cookies seems to be available but handled wrongly during the first load of the page.
Close all browser instances Open browser in normal mode (not incognito) Navigate to the IPS site => not logged in Click on any link inside the IPS side so that the side reloads => logged in Reproducible in localhost environment with all customizations disabled.
Enabling the DEV-Mode changes the behavior and the login is working as expected.
System cache cleared, but no change.
Latest IPS 4.7.11 is installed.

Is this check really wanted?
Instead of "==" contains would work too.
With this implementation, there is no chance to customize the guest banner with additional text.

It introduced some other issues so I had to put it back but I found turning off the guest popup terms fixes the issue albeit as a temporary measure.

derpunker got a reaction from SeNioR- in MemberExportPersonalInformation -> getData(..) delivers wrong data
Dear IPS support,
the PII function delivers wrong data. It's dependent on the logged in user.
Please fix it.

Thanks. I've improved this. (isset( $json['results'] instead of in_array).
Wow, this isn't something I've even considered would be an issue. I've removed the return type on all void methods.
Did you click the "Restart sync process" first?
Also be aware that deleting the markers would put them in the deletion queue, if that is enabled. Go to your moderator CP and have a look at the "Deleted Content" page. From there you can permanently delete the markers. The default suite setting is for content to be "soft deleted" for 30 days.

derpunker got a reaction from Li3D in Report system - 3 options with text "complete"
Dear IPS support,
for some reason, all options in the reporting system have the same text.
Resourcekey is: menu_report_status_3
Please have a look.
Hint: All custom plugins were disabled.

derpunker got a reaction from SeNioR- in Topic of a guest/deleted user as creator cannot be closed
Dear IPS Support,
there seems to be an issue with topics created by a guest. (guest = deleted user)
Latest IPS version is installed.
Administrator/Moderator is not restricted.
Topics where the creator is available can be closed.
Please have a look.

It’s a known issue that is set to be fixed in the next release.

Just a quick note to let you know this has been resolved in the latest 4.7.4 release, which went out a short time ago. If you are still experiencing this issue after upgrading to that release, please let us know.

The color inside the marker cluster should use the site's default text color. which in your case is light gray due to the black background. I'm fixing this now 🙂
Looks like your site has an issue fetching the javascript files needed for the day/night. It may temporarily fix itself if you disable the feature in the settings.
I'm fixing this now by fetching this file from a 3rd party CDN instead.
You should see a button on top of the settings page, like this
It should be visible even though the API field is empty. No need to fill that out anyway, and that too will be converted from Member Map.
This is technically true. But it would only cause an error if someone were to manually manipulate the URL to fetch a marker that doesn't exist. Fixing this now.

I submitted the 4.6 version on Friday, so I guess it's still in the approval queue. I have no idea how long it'll take, but I assume they have lots of new releases to deal with now.

That is definitely something I'm going to look into. Should be an easy fix.
It will come as part of the 4.6 update, which unfortunately isn't backwards compatible with 4.5.
Given that I just installed 4.6 for the first time this evening it might take a few days. Looks like it's not too much involved in getting it updated. I'll first do a compatibility update, then I'll add new features later on.

derpunker got a reaction from Joel R in Community support wanted: Firefox users can help
Hi community,
Me and other Firefox users of my IPS community observed a problem with the current Firefox version (83).
I'm discussing this topic since a few day with the IPS support team, but we have not yet found a solution.
The problem concerns the position where Firefox is scrolling to, when you have a link with a specific comment (anchor) of a topic.
There is a precondition I have already found out.
The problem occurs only, if there are two or more huge quotes or spoilers in the topic The browser window should not be maximized (maybe only relevant for 4K displays) Chrome, Edge, Safari, Opera is working fine (no need for testing) It would be great, if you could help me out and tell me which post you see or what happen when you click on the link below.
Step 1: Open the topic without a query paramter
https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/459814-community-support-wanted-firefox-users-can-help/
Step2: Click the link with the query parameter
https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/459814-community-support-wanted-firefox-users-can-help/?do=findComment&comment=2839934
(The links leads to a post in this topic)
I already have several videos where you can see the problem on my environment. I can share them, if there is a need.
I hope for your support and best thanks in advance. 🙂
