Collin1000 reacted to teraßyte in Download: (T30) Group Format 2.0.0
Since the arcade mod is a paid&encoded mod I cannot really help with it.
About the change you need to use something like that:
IPSLib::makeNameFormatted( $name, $group );

Collin1000 got a reaction from Tomato in Download: (SN30) PM Viewer 1.5.0
The author of the mod is no longer +Active, and as such, no longer has access to the download topics here.
(someone correct me if I am wrong...)
It also appears from his profile that no longer checks these forums.
Your best bet would be to PM him. -
Collin1000 reacted to Mark in IPB 3.1.0 features
We do, as do most web designers. Not to mention, the SEO fanatics would have your head for saying that ;) -
Collin1000 reacted to Mat Barrie in IPB 3.1.0 features
Again, do not want. It's an ACP link. It's not just yourself and your admins that use it, it's every IP.Board admin in the world. And no, we don't want yet another setting for whether the ACP link should open in a new window or the current one - it's hard enough finding anything now amongst the thousands of settings. Use your hook.

You could put that notice in 150-point flashing red text on every other line of the page and some people still wouldn't read it. -

They have stuff we don't have and we have stuff they don't have. We're not out to replicate anything. We just listen to client feedback and add/change things with each version.

Search - we are working on search interface improvements for next version.
Mods area - you should be able to view it even if you're not a customer. Were you having issues?
wysiwyg editor - already exists just enabled it in your settings

Collin1000 reacted to bfarber in Positive results from the spam service
If 50 accounts showed up within an hour from "x.x.x.x" would you not consider that a red flag though?
I agree, going by IP address alone can cause problems. But that's not to say IP address shouldn't be factored in. -
Collin1000 reacted to Rikki in Please allow...
It's a MySQL restriction more than anything. By default, MySQL doesn't allow fulltext searching with less than 4 characters. This can be configured on the server, but then searches become horribly inefficient.

Collin1000 reacted to Wolfie in Suggestion: ACP option to disable IPB's automatic Link wrapping (showing more characters for the link)
Download and import this file into your settings area.
The you can go to Settings > Forums > Topics, Posts and Polls
And under "Making a Post", you'll find "Disable URL truncating?". Enjoy!
settingGroup_topics-posts-and-polls.xml

Collin1000 reacted to OverDriveAdamJ in Suggestion: ACP option to disable IPB's automatic Link wrapping (showing more characters for the link)
Please see
http://forums.invisionpower.com/topic/287067-link-wraping/page__pid__1840069__st__0
As the internet slowly moves to longer URLs, with better descriptions of the content, truncating the link's text should be an option in ACP (either enable/disable, or enable and x amount of characters, with your default of ~35 characters). It's easier to see what content your link is going to if it's longer than the truncating number, especially if it's all from a domain with a long name, and multiple links from the same website's directory within the same post.

Collin1000 reacted to mld11 in IPS 3.0.2 Bug Caused By Early Release
Still, it was nice of him to let others know about possible errors they may experience in their upgrade, whether it was meant to be directed at one person or many. -
Collin1000 reacted to Lewis P in Spam service
I see it this way:
-- Standard/Business holders are current license holders, and get it for free. ($50 a year total payment with Spam service)
-- Perpetual holders are still paying IPS for service, so get it discounted. ($50 a year total payment with Spam service)
-- Lifetime holders are not paying IPS anything, so have to pay the full amount. ($50 a year total payment with Spam service)
All comes out fair when you look at it. ;)

Collin1000 reacted to Wolfie in Where to get the key for the spam monitoring service?
Client Area, your purchases, click on the IP.Board Standard package and get the key there.

The lofi version can automatically be loaded by mapping user agents to a skin in the ACP. You can add additional user agents in the appropriate page under the System tab, then edit the lofi skin in the ACP to map those new user agents to it.

Collin1000 reacted to bfarber in Feature Request: Get active topics for
As Josh already pointed out in another thread, this functionality will be back with 3.0.2.
@Speed Racer - no need to ask (or tell) us to listen to our customers. We always listen. :) That doesn't mean we can always do what someone wants when they want it, but I assure you, we always listen.

Collin1000 reacted to Brett B in Feature Request
Ideally I think if at all possible the error messages displayed should be changed to reflect the fact that Performance Mode is enabled, not just that the user doesn't have permission.

Collin1000 reacted to bfarber in IPS Forums - Driver Error
Unfortunately, guys, despite the laborious and time-consuming testing we do locally, it's just not the same as testing on a box with hundreds (sometimes thousands) of users online and millions of posts. Basically, this is a real world situation. We need to do real world testing at times.
We'd rather do it here, on our own site, and get IPB3 working as good as we possibly can, than release IPB to you guys with slow functions and so forth. Just look at it this way - we're doing the testing here, where we can control, debug, monitor and fix it, to save you trouble down the road. :)

Collin1000 reacted to Neosoph in IPS makes me all warm and fuzzy inside
I've been around here for a very long time. I've been watching IPS evolve as a company for even longer.
I have to say I am very impressed with the way things have turned out over the years. You guys make occasional mistakes, but they are honest mistakes and you resolve them quickly. You don't take shortcuts and you have the good practice to be fair and polite to your customers no matter what. You have shown yourselves to be the kind of company I will stand behind.
Matt & Charles (and the rest of the contributing staff) you guys have made something really great here. I know sometimes managing a business can be demanding and stressful. I also know that it's alot easier to manage if you know what you are doing matters to others. Well, I'm telling you your software has made life easier for myself and many others, it matters to us!
No one knows what the future holds, but I can guarantee if you keep to your honest business practices customers like myself won't let anything happen to IPS. Not even if the whole world falls to this economic recession.
Sincerely,
Aaron

Collin1000 reacted to Wolfie in IP. Subscription Manager
Perhaps I am mistaken on this, but I was under the impression that IPS was originally going to just do away with the SM altogether until it became known that many sites make use of it. Regardless though, once it's released, it's supposed to become a community project, so it can/will get extra features/options added to it, making it well worth the wait because it will do more than before. -
Collin1000 reacted to Adriano Faria in SUGGESTION: Reputation System on 3.0.2
I think someone already asked for implement Reputation per forum and I agree.
But there's another problem: I've seen several users creating another account or giving several points to other users, second after second.
I think should have some kind of restriction to avoid User A from giving more than X points do User B in a predefined space of time. I know we can set maximun and minimun points per group, but this not solve the problem.
Tks.

Collin1000 reacted to Kilobright in [feature] Guest posting question/answer
The question/answer feature for new registrations turns out to be much more effective than the random GD and reCaptcha on my board. However, when a guest is posting the only protection is still either disable guest posting or use the random GD code which is very vulnerable to OCR bots.
Could you add the question/answer system to guest posting too?
