1. Hi, great mod! Quick question: are you going to add a search for the content of the PM itself? Seems like that feature is missing :(.

    Thanks again!

The author of the mod is no longer +Active, and as such, no longer has access to the download topics here.
(someone correct me if I am wrong...)

It also appears from his profile that no longer checks these forums.
Your best bet would be to PM him.

  2. So then your topic should read "link truncating" not link "wrapping" :P

    I like this suggestion.

Enable link truncating? ( )Yes ( )No

Number of characters to keep?	Left [__] and Right [__]

Then it could add the numbers together along with 3 for a threshold point and then use those numbers for parsing.

I used the word "wrap" on my original topic that was linked to, my screenshot demonstrates why. My bad.
And yes, this should be a setting. I dont see why it wouldnt be, really. :/

  3. I was specifically watching for your ticket, and looking through the listing for a ticket related to the bug report. ;) You happened to "get lucky" on that one so to speak.

I mentioned that when I said one was technical and one was general - The general one was still resolved in an hour.
(I just checked, actually it was 64 minutes. Same difference.)

Webhosts tend to have 1-2 hour reply times as well, so I consider that IPS has a very good reply time. I dont think there is a need to have "priority" tickets more than what IPS already has internally, based on things I have seen here.

luckyfor you, have a sales tickets sitting for over an hour now without aresponse. no biggie really, was just a simple question.

My general questions still get answered in an hour.
  4. After having opened 2 tickets today at around the same time, I had one of them fully resolved before the other even got a first reply.

However, one of them was a technical bug in the software that is being patched by IPS, the other was a general inquiry.
(For the record, both were answered in under an hour)

From watching the IP.Nexus demo's that were posted years ago, it leads me to believe that IPS must have "some sort" of severity system in place based on what is in Nexus.
You and I might normally set everything to "Low" priority, but from personal experience, most people think that everything is urgent. The current system is fair - everyone gets a turn in line.

And a 1 hour response time, regardless, is impressive.

From ticket numbers that got posted to the tracker today, it seems that IPS gets about 7 tickets every 10 minutes. I think they do a great job keeping up with things and helping their users.

  5. Same problem with my member sometime have lo version sometime not. And Lo version are very not beautiful. I suggest real version for mobile application.

The point of the low-fi version is to be low fi.... no graphics or fancy scripts. You can always change to the FULL version. The problem is, changing from the FULL to the LOW takes ages to load it if it loads the wrong one by mistake.

  6. The question/answer feature for new registrations turns out to be much more effective than the random GD and reCaptcha on my board. However, when a guest is posting the only protection is still either disable guest posting or use the random GD code which is very vulnerable to OCR bots.

Could you add the question/answer system to guest posting too?

    +1 agreed. Good idea.

  7. I believe that part of the concerns stem from this statement:

To me, that says those who are Perpetual License holders and are +Active Customers qualify for this new service. At least, that's how it comes across to me.

I think that is what most people are coming from, and that is why alot of people seem to think IPS is trying to get people on to the new license format. Because technically, perpetual users do have an active support license.

  8. For updates - not new additional features that arent standard to IPB.

You are missing the key stress that matt has made several times. This is not a feature, it is a service.
The argument many are making is that, if they are +Active and can use the resources site, why can they not use a service that is offered.

  9. I don't like that. Yes I'm a little biased since I have a Lifetime license, but I think that the Lifetime license shouldn't be excluded because the terms of it are the same as a standard license except that it's "forever" instead of limited to 6 month windows.

With Perpetual, the license holder should be allowed to get it when they are in +Active status (ie, paid $30/year).

I know that IPS wants to convert those into standard licenses, but I think that's a bit shameful to try to reword or reclassify things just to do it.

I agree there, I twittered that as soon as I read the news. I agree that as long as they are +active they should have it. :/

(then again, im NOT a perpetual user anymore. so who am I to gripe)
