  1. @Marc Stridgen, if you had just added a little bit more information on the left of your screenshot, it would had saved me some time. The more detailed information you can provide the clearer it becomes for someone like me not knowing the ins and outs/layout of the forum admin section like you and others do. Still thanks for keeping up with me. 🙂 I did something with renewals for one client and that client has now a 6 month free ride. Which is ok since It took me ages to get this sorted out but it wasn't my intention. I still have no idea what I'm doing. All though it gets slowly a little bit more clearer now. 🙂 @Stuart Silvester Thank you for chimming in. 4.7 sounds really good! I'll see if I can find some time for the beta, currently feel like I'm running around like a headless chicken here... (lol) Again, thank you!
  2. Marc, can you please show me where to click on what dropdown? Do I create a new invoice to renew? Do I click "void account" to delete? I'm just lost, I searched for renew and get a renew page but no client info to send this to. But gee, the thought of people who couldn't re-sign up again and just thought "fork it" instead of opening a ticket with me... my wallet is crying. Oh ps: thank you for your patients with me. 🙂
  3. Isn't that counter productive? I mean people sign up, let their subscription lapse and then after a while they think, 'hey, I haven't been here for a while lets sign up again and see what's new'. Only to have no option to do so because for some very odd reason the sign-up button is hidden for them. So for everybody who's subscription expired I need to create a renewal or remove them or else they can never sign back up again??? Sorry sir, you sadly left our store and now we no longer can let you back in unless the manager creates a new doorway in for you? How does that make any sense? And how do I do this? How do I send these ex-customers who cannot see the sign-up button a renewal or how do I remove them?
  4. Ok deleted the 2 and created a new one now with only the addresses.
  5. Yippee! As for the customers I left you 2 notes under 'support requests'..
  6. (Cough) I'm deeply embarrashed by my speed in replying here... Could you please try accesing the site/ftp again? I just updated the access info, hopefully I got that right now as client No.#2 showed up with the same trouble making me fear there are more who cannot resubscibe again due to the sign-up button not showing up.
  7. Ok, thats clear now. :) Username: nkx
  8. Giant face palm, sorry I didn't include the clients name. I just wish I knew where to find the ticket, I've been to my admin, client area, manage purchases, my details... I just don't see it.
  9. I just followed the instructions at the admin center; If Invision Community Staff requires access to your community, please click here to create an administrator account. Things where a lot easier before... It is all so unclear to me. It feels like hurdle after hurdle are thrown up. In the past this would had been solved by now. Ok I just read the PM, it mentions a ticket, what ticket? And this guide. As staff this is apparently crystal clear for you, for me, I haven't got the slightest idea where to look for this "guide". I feel really stupid right now...
  10. Hi Marc, Any news after I send you login details yesterday? Cheers! :)
  11. But that's just it, this customer has no subscription running. :) He signed up in 2019 for 6 month's non-recurring then when that ran out he was demoted by the system back to the non-paying members group. There's nothing I can find that links him to be having an active subscription. I deleted the last invoice, thinking that might trigger the buttons to come back but that had effect.
  12. Hi Marc, Thanks for the help. I'm a bit confused with the offered solutions, lets go with the 'remove the subscription which will then allow for repurchase' part. How and where do I do that. What do I remove?
  13. Ok, I can confirm the trouble this client has. Any idea how I solve this? The subscription it self reads 'Your subscription has expired,' but that's it. Any idea how to get the sign up buttons back?
  14. Ahh ohh. I see. Nifty. :) Thank you!
  15. Hi thank you for chiming in. I had no Idea I could login as this user. Ok, I see the "sign in as (name)", but uhm, how do I get passed the password check?
  16. Hi all, I've got a weird head-scratching problem and I hope someone can help me figure this out. One of my ex-customers likes to sign up again for my forum. However according to this customer, and the screenshot send to me, are the subscription buttons not showing up. I checked this as far as I could on my side on Mac OS X, Opera, Firefox Safari and Chrome, and on the PC side win11 Opera, Firefox Safari and Chrome. And for me it all seems to work and these buttons do show up. I asked my ex-customer to remove any and all extensions or ad-ons including adblock and to try a different browser, but the subscription buttons still don't show up for the customer. I also checked if I maybe had this customer blocked or flagged on my side but everything looks normal as far as I can tell. Anyone any idea what at this customer (on windows) side could block my forums subscription buttons? Thanks in advance!
  17. I set the email Mail delivery method to PHP, tested it out with a new user using a new Gmail account that received a working verification link. Thinking that solved at least that part, I tried contacting sendgrid but their support was down. Then today someone signed up but my forum did not register that, though Paypal confirmed the user paid. So the user couldn't get in as there wasn't even a validation email. It's not even funny anymore and I'm getting a bit desperate.
  18. It's the same story as before, they refer me back to here. Haha, lol. /shakes head. If I had access to a test forum I could try things out without having to fear forking stuff up, but somewhere there is still a snippet of an older test forum active and I have no idea where. So that's a big no there.
  19. I know, that was your suggestion in August as well and they reffered me back to Invision. But I just asked. Will post the answer if I have one so next time, I have the answer somewhere stored.
  20. Thank you for the reply. I just wish I could remember that. Last time I move in RL and my site at the same time. :(
  21. That other customer was me I have to admit deeply ashamed. And I think I mailed you the solution. Do you happen to still have that reply of mine from around August 20-24? Hurrrr, maybe I need to recreate the sendgrid api key... I'm so completely lost again. :(
  22. I moved to a new host and emails send to people who wanted to sign up got a link they needed to click for verification that had an "url1128" appended on it. I fixed that. But then I moved to yet another host because the previous one couldn't handle this software and I'm now am facing the exact same problem and I just cannot for the life of me remember what the solution was. On top of that I deleted all email correspondence that could tell me how to fix this, so this is a lot like 'Obi-Wan you're my only hope' question. So this is what the link should look like: https://whateveryoursiteaddressis/index.php?app=core&module=system&controller=redirect&url=https://whateveryoursiteaddressis/index.php?app=core&module=system&controller=register&do=validate&somelongcode&mid=1206&key=somelongcode&email=1&type=registration_validate but this is the link people get at the moment: https://url1128.whateveryoursiteaddressis/index.php?app=core&module=system&controller=redirect&url=https://whateveryoursiteaddressis/index.php?app=core&module=system&controller=register&do=validate&somelongcode&mid=1206&key=somelongcode&email=1&type=registration_validate I'm using sendgrid btw. Anyone feeling a bit like a Jedi and help me out here?
  23. "Don’t worry, it’s not bad news". Going from $190.- a year to $280 a year is not bad news? Cutting email support while hiking up the price like this is not bad news? Cutting email support while having a terribly lacking documentation (since day 1) is not bad news? Keeping innovations away from those who self host then when that dust settles, hiking up the price is not bad news? I dread the day you do come with what you consider "bad news". Going to have think this over. Might going to cut this chord. Looking at your pricing structure I get the feeling you are in the process of driving those who self host away. I can be wrong but it would make sense to just have medium to large businesses as your clients.
  24. Thank you for your input Daniel. That won't work when I try to install a new testforum, and my greatest fear is if I try this and the current host settings still go awry at the next update I'm even further from home. Guess I'll have to move once again to another host one that allows more then wordpress installs... Thanks!
