I have this too... It's very confusing as it makes it look like, for instance, that my bookmarks are theirs, when they're not. I see this on my test forum and I've consequently not installed the app on my real forum for this reason May I add to the feature requests, please? - Could we have categories in private bookmarks as well as in public ones? - Could bookmarks be made editable - so that one can edit a title or change category, and change a bookmark to private or public? If I should decide to use the public option, I can foresee my members making a bookmark public when they meant it to be private, or vice versa.

Might this app be of use? Except it's "not currently available for purchase." You might want to check the support topic, as there currently seems to be a bug with it if it's set to ignore topics with replies. It's identical to a similar hook that used to exist for IPB 3, I think called Forum Pruner.

As a newbie to Pages, I’m probably being a bit dumb... I have a few issues and queries, please: How do you get an entry to show a link to the actual article on the site the RSS feed comes from, same as it does when importing RSS/Atom feeds into a forum?? How do you get it to show the date of the article, not the date Pages grabbed it, also the same as it does when importing RSS/Atom feeds into a forum? Which template is one supposed to use? List or Like Articles? In either case, why do images that show as thumbnails in the article list also show as thumbnails in the record article, as well as showing the full image? Where and how does one set how images show? If used as a List, what’s the difference to importing RSS into a forum? It looks identical to me, but with a thumbnail copy of the full image and minus a link to the actual article. Can one remove the author/user/member name? I’d only have one, so it doesn't need to show on each page (record). It’s not pulling in new items, it only shows items from the date I created the feed. Is there a way to auto delete old items? With the amount of feeds I’d have, it would easily go into 1000s (if it were to add new feed items). What am I missing or what might I have done wrong?

MGM v.1.0.5 My menu group wasn’t empty in the ACP... The widget for the Second Menu now works in the front end, and I can now see what you meant when you said “ the error was caused by the selected menu group being empty,” as you have to choose the menu group in the widget itself (obviously), which I couldn’t previously do as it didn’t show me any options. In ACP, I have a “Second Menu”, set to Hook/Widget in Manage Group, and I now changed to Block from Bar (just in case I had the wrong setting). It contains 1 menu item (for testing purposes). I now have the following problems in ACP: - Show Preview doesn’t work, it shows Hook/Widget and nothing else - Clicking Edit for menu item = blank page - Clicking New Menu item = blank page Errors are as follows: - No system errors - No errors in error_log in forum root - Error /admin/error_log with widget only: PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '?' in /home/mydomain/public_html/forum/applications/cjmg/sources/Form/Form.php on line 16 I forgot to not set “Second Menu” to show on all apps; so I edited it to show only on “Forums”. All of the above, when editing in ACP (no preview, blank pages), also happens on my main menu. So, unfortunately, the app is now partly broken in ACP, due to the errors above. I’m at a bit of a loss what to do now. I’m afraid I don’t have time to have to keep restoring from a backup or to uninstall and re-install v.1.0.3 and redo the main menu from scratch... This is still only on my test forum, I daren’t try the upgrade on my live forum... PS - I’ve just seen a new setting, in Themes > Edit, there’s a new tab for MGM down and sub arrows, to pick a fa icon! :-) This wasn’t mentioned anywhere as something new in either v1.0.4 or v.1.0.5? I haven’t tried it yet though.

MGM V.1.0.4 Well, that was a bit of a disaster, I’m afraid... The good news is that the MGM errors are gone. The bad news is that the widget blanked the forum. I tested the widget: it was blank, with just one word: “Error”, and it had no close button. When I closed the sidebar block manager, the forum went blank with an empty white page. Clearing caches didn’t help. If I disabled the app, the forum came back (albeit with the primary menu). Luckily, this was on my test forum.

If I disable Advanced Online Indicator, the errors go away. I first tried disabling some other plugins or apps that I thought might maybe conflict, but the errors continued. I then tried disabling ALL plugins and apps, except for Advanced Online Indicator. The error log continues to have these errors. I didn't notice yesterday that there are 2 errors, with the figure in red being different: The top one only appears once, at the top, whilst the 2nd one appears several times below it, but it only seems to appear when disabling other plugins or apps. Otherwise, it's the second one that appears and there are now 1000s of them.

I installed this plugin a week ago, on 23 August, and I’ve just noticed that the error_log in the root of my forum directory is daily filled with lots of the following lines: As the date and time of when these errors started - 23 August at 12.03 - coincides with the date and time of my installing this plugin, I was wondering if it’s this plugin causing these errors?

MGM Sorry, I’ve got another possible problem... I’ve got Themes > Edit> Custom > “Javascript include location” set to “Just before /body tag”. However, despite this setting, GMetrix is giving me a poor F rating for “Defer parsing of JavaScript”. When I try to investigate why, I see in the source code that there’s this HTML immediately above the closing body tag and below all the javascript: <div class="cjmg_container"></div> Might there be a way to fix this please?

Any news on this please? My system logs are still being filled with these errors. Also, the widget doesn't work, in that it doesn't show anywhere in the sidebar manager. I'm guessing that's because it's related to the system errors?

So, if my webhosts allow a max of 500 emails per hour, I would enter "450 - every hour" in "Max email sent per time" (with PHP mail), and I don't need to worry about any of the other settings? (I say "450" as an example, to allow for non-forum emails). I only need it for Bulk emails, as my forum's not big and busy enough to send out anywhere near more than 500 emails per hour.

Am I right in thinking that the "Max email sent per time" is only for "when the SMTP Service is available", as it has the little red star indicating so? IOW, it won't work when the "Mail delivery method" is set to PHP?

I can’t send a link to my tests, I’m afraid, as it’s on my test forum. Also, I didn’t necessarily “submit” my test posts, so there wouldn’t be a post to see. I’ve only used the plugin on 2 or 3 posts on my live forum, and I’ll send you a link to them via PM. So far, I’m the only user who’s used the plugin. It’s a small (and quiet) support forum for a niche subject... and I tend to post more links than anyone else. I hope you won’t mind, but I’m going to disagree on the use of BR vs paragraph for linebreaks. IPS is the only forum I go to that uses only paragraph breaks. Other forums I go to don’t. And, although not the same as a forum but maybe a bit similar to Pages, the JCE editor I use on a Joomla CMS site (based on TinyMCE) offers BR linebreaks too. Anyway, it’s off-topic and the subject was hashed to death when v.4 first came out - it was one of several reasons why I didn’t upgrade from v.3 till very recently. I could go on forever about it, so it’s best I don’t . I only mentioned it in case it had some bearing.

Favicons seem to have sorted themselves out and now always show. It was only in those first couple of times I used the plugin that they went a bit squiffy. I’ve been testing some more, with links to various sites. It seems erratic in whether it produces an embedded link or not; sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. So it doesn’t just apply to the domain in the posts I mentioned earlier. It also won’t always embed any of the links I’ve used before (when pasting them into a new post), it just shows them as underlined URLs. Also, if I paste an URL that I’ve copied from a text file, it doesn’t always embed. On another occasion the phone rang whilst I was still in editing mode, and 2 out 3 links appeared after a long while, about 2-3 minutes. I’m on a fibre connection which, whilst not the fastest fibre available, is still fast; so that shouldn’t be the problem. A separate nuisance, which is an IPS thing, is that a link isn’t clickable unless you hit a space or hit Enter after it. So, if you’ve typed out your post in a text editor first and then paste it into a post, none of the links are clickable. It’s annoying for people who type their posts out in a text editor first. In case it bears any relation, I have the editor Return Key set to “go to next line” (as an aside, I also find it annoying that it doesn’t use br tags to break lines but uses p tags!).

I just bought this earlier today, and love the idea of it Does it work if one adds several links in a post? I added 4 in one post, but only the first one was embedded; they were each directly below quoted text, in case that was what was affecting it? The other links were to domains I know work with the plugin, eg: I'd added a link (just the one) in a different post to a different page on the same domain and it worked fine. Also, sometimes the favicon shows just the bottom half of it. This is in links to the same domain, so it's not as if they don't have a favicon.

Where are member/group permissions for the "Top Hits" widget, as the only option I see is for how many links to show? Where might I find member group permissions for viewing hidden links? I'm the only person with permission to add/delete/etc links. Everybody can view links - does that mean they can also view hidden links, since I can't find where to allow/disallow member groups from seeing hidden links? I've just come from IPB 3.3.4 where everything was easier to find in the ACP. IPB 4 has either removed a ton of stuff or hidden some stuff in places you don't know exist until you happen to go to a particular page and click on something or a barely visible button might appear at the top. Eg, in IPB 3, member groups had tons of permissions/options, including "Can view hidden content" (or similar); IPB 4 doesn't or, if it does, then I've no idea where they've hidden it. All I know is that a hidden link shows to everybody (member or guest) in the "Top Hits" widget and in the "Random Links" block. I'm not trying to be difficult or confusing, I genuinely don't know the answers to this... It doesn't matter for now as I've deleted the hidden links, but it would be helpful to know for a next time I might need to hide (not delete) a link.

I can't see what's confusing about my posts: A link that I had hidden (or deleted) in Links Directory still shows in the Links Directory blocks and widgets, after having been deleted/hidden, when it should not be showing. Please look at my earlier post again... My reference to Links Directory was v.4.1.1b, not to IP.Board which was 3.3.4. If your reference was to IP.Board 4.1.1 and not Links Directory 4.1.1, it might've helped to say it was for IP.Board and not Links Directory. Also, your reply to my initial query about upgrading made it sound like it was OK to upgrade from my older versions of IP.Board and Links Directory. Anyway, never mind, I'll fully delete the links I'd hidden and I'll make a note to myself of what they were and why I'd hidden them, as I'd only intended to temporarily hide them.

I believe I already had the minimum version to upgrade from? I've already deleted the deleted links, so they no longer show anywhere. But, until I permanently deleted them (via the Mod CP), they showed in the Random links block on the Links index. It’s now hidden links that show in the “Top Hits” widget when they shouldn’t show. What is UTL?

“Deleted link”: just that, a link that’s been deleted... or a hidden link Random block: as set on “Index View” in LD settings. Top Hits, like I said, on widget.

I've just about finished setting up and doing my directory, having recently upgraded from v.4 on IPB 3.3.4 The blocks are showing hidden and deleted links to all member groups.... as are the widgets that don't have any options/permissions, like the one for "Top Hits"... Is this a bug, or some kind of IPB or upgrade blip?

Super, thanks, Esther I used to use this app on IPB 3.3.4 and have recently , albeit belatedly (!), upgraded to 4.3.4. Whilst IPB 4 has tons of options for creating activity streams (which is great), I can't exclude a particular forum (stuffed with RSS feed imports, set to no replies) from "All Activity", so that particular forum tends to swamp "All Activity". Also, my members will be more familiar with your app than with what might be considered by some not-so-forum-savvy people as a rather complicated IPS "Activity" in general. So I'm off to buy Social Streams now

Thanks, again. The media query override only seems to work on the list of forums, but not on the list of topics... but it then overlaps the topic stats. I don't know why IPS thought it a good idea to hide avatars on iPad when in landscape view; avatars can further aid in recognising who's who. It's not as if there isn't enough space, and they'd need to left align the topic stats. I guess we all have to put up with it, in that case. I must have a funky forum or browser dev tools... today, Firefox's responsive view showed it as it is, without avatars. Go figure, as they say.
