My 16 year old niece was about to use a page on my site a year ago... and then again a few weeks ago. Each time should would go to the responsive web page, look at it, get somewhat excited about the idea and then instantly look up at me and ask "Do you have a web app?" ..... She hasn't posted once. 😒

I used Sendgrid based on the recommendation of the IPS staff and because support is built into IPS. Unfortunately the price of Sendgrid is 10x that of Amazon's SES simple email service.
I just switched over to Amazon SES and am stuck using the SMTP route rather than via the API because there isn't native support via IPS like there is for Sendgrid.
I'd like to ask for or vote for IPS adding support for Amazon SES, just like it supports Sendgrid.

Just in case anyone is actually following this topic, it appears (haven't seen the code yet though) that the new group formatting feature built in for 4.4 is just doing what this plugin did years ago. There is a variable on the IPS\Member object for group formatting - it's always been there - I think all IPS did was flip the bit from "false" to "true". That just nulls out a portion of what this plugin does so if you still want formatting nearly everywhere, this plugin will remain valid.

I realise this isn't exactly what you're talking about, but I currently use Kevin Carwile's Rules application to redirect sign-ins to group-specific splash pages with customised feed blocks and information.
This is good to know since, well, the vast, vast majority of servers and setups are PHP/mySQL. 🙂

You should visit Customization > Themes in the AdminCP, click the dropdown next to your theme and go to Manage Resources. Upload the font here, and then take the replacement tag (which generates the URL) and use that in your custom.css.
Your solution is fine and will work, but the above method will benefit from using our storage handling system properly. i.e. if you move your theme resources to S3 for performance reasons, your font would be moved as well, and the CSS file would automatically update to reflect the new URL.

I've seen posts from members, myself included, asking for more patreon-like features like this for clubs.  I was kinda hoping they'd be added before 5.  Our club usage has decreased rapidly because our artists would prefer setting different sub levels instead of having to average out a one level deal for the content they want to provide to supporters, and being able to do this directly on our website instead of having to have a separate off-site account is our end goal with clubs for now.  😞

We need here bounce handling, that automatically unsubscribe "dead" E-mails from newsletter. So that we do not need to send over 300 000 mails for each newsletter. I am sure that at least a quarter of them do not exist any more. We have used custom phplist integration till November (excellent bounce handling + free), then we upgraded and loose the integration. Now we test 3rd party Newsletter apps right now. But unfortunately none of them support bouncing

Oooh, do I get brownie points for that?
2a. I suppose that's more the request being asked for. Some users would like to be able to modify certain front page blocks pertaining to content feeds (like the New Posts, new images block) to only see certain areas, or to users they follow. I'd be ok with it being an admin set layout where users can modify the content.
2b. This would be useful. Gives users the ability to make their profile unique. This might be a better suggestion overall.
Another admin thing occurred to me as well: email templates. These are difficult to modify currently for those with little experience. Would be nice to have easy to edit color settings.

This will allow you to display names in quotes and mentions as 'Guest' instead of the original name of the account at the time the quote/mention was made. Note that it doesn't make any changes to the saved content in the database at all - the changes are performed at display time.

Additionally, this is what I'm missing in the downloads app:
more choices how to display special files selections in the thumbnails preview slider bars
Please let us have additional, new, flexible preview bars) on the downloads index page.
Currently there are only unchangeable "featured files" / "newest files" / "popular files" preview bars, but this doesn't suit my requirements. I require

    # manually preselected files (editor's choice)
    # top paid files, top free files
    # special offers
    # sponsored downloads
in the files details page, currently there is only the "screenshots bar" with the thumbnails images, but I think it should be more of a sensational shop with a BIG PRIMARY IMAGE or a banner. nowadays, users want to see EYE-CATCHING COVER IMAGES. For IPS, marketplace files functionality (text) might be the most requested information, but for other products (f.e. music or video downloads) users decide about purchases also by looking at images or video! Therefore, the layout looks pretty lost, lame, unspectacular.
members (file authors) want their own / personal members downloads shops. Have a look at the classifieds app and the "user store concept". This should be realized for downloads, too, and connected to the user profiles pages. My file authors wish to have big profile banners for their downloads (with their commercial logos), introduction texts to their own shops and more
an integrated reviews rating bar like in "downloads plus"
    # the downloads plus app looks great, but for my requirements (I have special code for missing EU tax features and this restricts me to install third party apps, so a native solution is required)
an option where to store files per file.
I want to transfer small files to Amazon S3, but bigger files (f.e. 1GB video files) should be stored locally to avoid high cloud transfer costs. I experience that my users download their files multiple times again and again and this becomes more and more expensive
    # maybe insert a restriction how often a single file can be downloaded
make files versioning a choice per file or per default settings
    # if an author only changes any images or only adjusts spelling errors in his downloads, all followers are notified about file changes, BUT THERE IS NO FILE CHANGE!
    # stop notifying members if the files (in the proper sense -> the downloads, not the download descriptions) aren't changed
more visual elements and effects onmouseover
    # this could also be a plugin, but a modern look should have a minimal stylish default behavior
the categories box in the sidebar on the downloads main index page is a total waste of space (below the details info)
    # please make it at least concealable by default or by user choice or let us reposition it
downloads require a downloads shopping cart for purchasing multiple file downloads at once
    # if members want to buy a lot of files, it's very annoying to checkout for every single file
in the european union, you have to inform your customer that there is no refund for downloads possible. We may NOT have this information in our terms and conditions. It MUST BE DISPLAYED directly above the "buy now" button. Therefore we urgently require special and flexible check and text boxes. If there isn't such an information box, every purchaser can directly refund their purchased downloads and PayPal will refund without any further discussion. More info HERE.
have colored marketing badges for the preview thumbnails
    # new, hot, recommended, reduced price, limited offer...
      free, but password-protected downloads
    # let us add a secondary security level, like password protected forums
add commission levels per member group
    # one commission setting for all members isn't very good, I require to award members by status and hence adjust commission values individually
      a files wishlist
    # that reminds me of interesting files I might purchase one day...
integration of a points system (preferred "members shop", @TheJackal84 ), where users can/must pay for file downloads with points (even free downloads, option enabled per file by download author).
    # below the real currency price, there should be shown a points price (virtual currency).
as an alternative I could also imagine:
    # earn downloads credits with quality contents in the forums to be able to download "free files". this way members have to engage better to get free premium files.
    # or handle free downloads as "granted if you have a good reputation quota aso"
the "download now" or "buy now" button requires more attention
    # some of my users just don't see it directly Dear IPS Team, you publish blog articles about monetizing our communities, so please help us to really make powerselling use of the downloads app. I think the current status is still very basic. The downloads app is really missing a lot love and isn't optimized for powerselling at all. Thank you.

    Hi,
Will it be possible to add this for guest submissions? If not we will just restrict the option for registered members.
Add something like this to the form to become GDPR compliant by requesting consent?
Add & mark a check box as a required field and label it with something like "I consent to having Compu-Global-Hyper-Mega-Net collect my details via this form". Now the form will only submit when consent is given.

    Thanks

    I know I'm a pain ..   ??‍♂️  but, can I make a request ?
Could you add an option to redirect to an specific url, instead of opening the IPS contact form? I'm interested, but I need to use my own forms.
On my websites, when users click on "contact me", they open a page in IPs that loads a Zoho Form or a Jotform.
This form is like a step by step process or a survey, where I guide them through a series of questions/answers. For example, the 1st question is "why do you want to contact me." .. possible answers: "I want to have my account deleted", "You have pictures that I want you to remove", "I need help setting up a professional profile", "I have a business proposal" etc.
Depending on the 1st question/answer, I give them specific instructions until I ask for their names, email . This way I get specific problems that I can address more efficiently.

I hope that lazy load will be also implemented for YouTube embeds in 4.4.
This topic is a live illustration why this is important.

It would be awesome to load just thumbnail instead of player and to load player only when thumbnail clicked. This significantly improves performance on pages with embedded videos.

    Adjust mobile design:
Then create the progressive web app (PWA) with common requirements:

My community is begging for an app, and I already lost ~60% of member traffic to Facebook and WhatsApp. Why? Not because my content isn't good enough anymore, but my members use my contents, and afterwards, go on with live messaging/meetings (which is an elemental part in my industry) via Facebook and WhatsApp and I lose control. I can do nothing against it. My competitors don't have contents, but they have active Facebook and WhatsApp groups. The FB/WA messaging functions are way better, and my users require an app icon to remember my site as well as push notifications to their mobiles. Not having an app is blocking my success factors extremely. I'm already considering buying an app development for my WordPress pages (which seems to be cheaper as many developers already did it for the WP platform...), but that would be the point to lose the power an IPS app would have. I'd prefer an IPS app, but I don't have ages to wait for one. We need to speed up any arrangement.
I'd be willing to pay, too!!!

Already present. You can "View Subscribers" for each newsletter. You can also "Manage Issues" for each newsletter, which shows distribution total. Please read the documentation that is provided with the modification; this is included.
This has been requested before, but I'm not going to be doing this any time in the near future. It's going to make an already complicated mod a lot more complex, and I don't have the availability right now to support all the issues that will come along with it. I'd rather not build something I can't support properly.
I like this suggestion. I'll add it to my list.
Again, please read the documentation. Some of these issues are explained and documented. Many of these others are due to the way that different email clients render your template. Not all clients support all HTML properties. This is just something you'll have to play with via trial and error. I don't provide support for the templates themselves; there are just too many variables at work. I suggest you start with this link: https://www.campaignmonitor.com/css/. This is from Campaign Monitor, and they provide a good guide for what is commonly supported.
Not at this time. If you integrated with SendGrid or SparkPost, they take care of that for you.
    Thanks. I'll take a look.

    Good idea.
I think the "member inactivity" (=last visit or real last visit) should get more attention
    f.e.
only award reaction points if member's last visit isn't older than x days only award response posts points if member's last visit isn't older than x days only award weekly/monthly/yearly points if…. only award bank interest if ... There are many cases where it would make sense, if we could exclude inactive members from receiving points, if they are offline for a longer time. If my members would know, that they won't receive anymore points after day x, they would login more often and it would drive up the community engagement.
Similar to the "inactivity rule" it would also be great to do the same with f.e. "bulk email opt-ins", so we as admins can choose to not award members, that are currently not subscribed for bulk email. That would help the email marketing a lot.

It's a good idea to restrict the link parser somehow, so it won't generate unlimited links. This should be configurable.
    Why?
Google shouldn't crawl my pages and detect a linking overdose. An option would be useful to restrict links per post, links per author, and links per page.
If you have too many keywords linked, and many keywords are used by the poster, this sometimes results in in a huge amount of links per page.
It would be nice to see the custom link CATEGORIES come back, to better organize links if you really have a lot of them.
In my case for example, I'd like to have 20 categories (for the thematic and synonyms), and each keyword/keyphrase is linking to the same link

Hi, is it possible to have only one keyword linked per post? Because if I have a reply like "so, to do this thing, you have to change the thing and update the thing".
In that example, all instances of the word "thing" would be linked.
I don't mind if it happens in another reply in the same topic, but to have it in the same post confuses users.

Invitation - Allow club leaders to send invitations to external (non-community) users.  My club leader has an extremely active membership that exists on another platform, but he doesn't have a way of sending email invitations to them via my site and directly inviting them to join his new club.
Join - This is probably the #1 pain point and I don't know why I didn't bring it up before.  External (non-community) users don't understand they need to register on my site and join the club.  It consistently causes a lot of confusion to new users.  I'm envisioning a streamlined join process that both registers on my site and joins the club in a single process.
Club Marketing - This is consistently requested by my Club Leader to be able to send out bulk mail to the members within his club, as email is the preferred way of communicating with his group.

I also want to reiterate existing pain points of clubs, especially:
Node Control - I don't have full access to all category settings, which continues to be a problem.  This means I can't toggle "albums only" for gallery, which means users are spraying their pics all over the category and not organizing into albums.  Default Follow - Users don't auto-follow the club when they join, which means they don't get club updates even though that's the sole reason why they joined.  I had to send out a lengthy tutorial that explained how to follow the club AND how to adjust their notification settings, although I'm resigned to the fact that most of those users will never be able to figure out those settings.
