AtariAge got a reaction from Kyle Bass in New Live Community Features!
I enabled this on my forum, but don't see the live features described above. Do I need to do anything else besides enable it in the ACP?
Thanks!

AtariAge reacted to Matt in New feature: disable your inbox
We do want to bring more updates to the messenger. This was just a little change to make handling alert replies easier.

Something I always wanted, but doesn't sound like it will work as I'd prefer - it would help if this was an option during the moving topic process, make it an option to create an alert for the topic starter whilst on the pop up for that.

The change author option is there for when moderators/team members leave and you want their alerts to persist.

By any chance would this be able to extend to the Contact Us page as well?

AtariAge reacted to Joel R in Web push notifications, native sharing & offline support
Some questions:
Will community owners be able to select the default push notification for new members, similar to default notifications? When users login and are prompted to accept notifications, I'd like to recommend that IPS adds a 'recommended' tag to the default selection. This will give communities the greatest chance of engagement (or no engagement, whatever floats your boat). -

That sounds encouraging, I will keep my eyes open for any related announcements.
Thank you.

AtariAge reacted to Matt in 4.5: Zapier Brings Integration with Over 2,000 Web Apps
Hi AA!
We have made the decision to only bring some advanced features to our Cloud and Enterprise communities, and Zapier is one of them. This means that Zapier will not be available for on-premises licenses.
I realise this contradicts my previous statements from last year. I strive for transparency and share what our current thinking is, which means that sometimes we change course in public.
We are planning some more advanced features which need to leverage the computing power of our cloud hosting network and would be almost impossible to implement outside of our hosting. Trying to produce software for the lowest common denominator is getting increasingly challenging as expected standards move on.
To be clear, we're not going to heavily restrict new features available to the on-premises license, and neither are we considering two separate versions of Invision Community. On this occasion, Zapier makes a better fit for our Cloud and Enterprise communities, and it's backed by our own hosting network.

We are actually in the process of revamping our cloud plans to be much more generous with data storage and are considering other metrics as the headline differentiator.

AtariAge reacted to Real Hal9000 in 4.5: Security Enhancements
Important changes. Have in mind though, that user actions is usually one of the common problem for a security issue.
From my personal experience, we had to implement a way not to let users be able to use extremely easy passwords which had their accounts be compromised. Most important, not let users use their own username as a password and also some easy passwords like sex, 12345, god, matt etc 🙂

AtariAge got a reaction from Elshara Silverheart in What's new in 4.4.5?
Yes, I would very much like to see this as well. I (and others on my forum) have many long-running conversations that are over 50 pages, and it would be fantastic to be able to search inside a conversation just as you can search from within a forum topic.

Is there any way to search inside of a conversation, for example if a conversation thread has 50 pages and you wish to find a specific message?
(Or is there an add-on that does this?)
Thanks.

AtariAge reacted to PoC2 in 4.4: Recurring PayPal Payments and more with Braintree and Commerce
Initially very interested. Then I did a bit of research and read some reviews of Braintree, so I may pass on this implementation.

I'm also hoping to hear some news on this front, as it was previously mentioned as being targeted for 4.3.

Um. We might be able to do something. We haven’t done anything with 3.x for a while. I can take a look.

Great, glad to see this is getting more attention!
Will there be an upgrade path for those of us using IP.Nexus to manage subscriptions when we upgrade our 3.4.x forum to 4.3? Which is something I plan on doing once 4.3 has been released.
Thanks,
..Al
