  1. Greetings, At least twice now, all the clubs on my forum (and there are quite a few) have been updated with the same exact "Last Activity" timestamp. This makes sorting the clubs by Latest Activity worthless. As the admin, I am not doing anything that would cause this, nor is anyone else. I saw another thread where someone stated this was happening as well, back in September: Here's a screenshot from my forum, showing a page full of clubs that all have the exact same update time and date: Would certainly like to know why this is happening, I assume it's a bug of some sort, especially as it's happened to at least one other member here. Thank you!
  2. Greetings! I moved my forum from self-hosted to Invision's cloud-based service this past summer. I had ElasticSearch setup on my forum, and I was running a local instance so it was relatively straightforward. Now that I'm on Invision's servers, I need to set this up again. I can continue to run ES (or OpenSearch) on one of my own dedicated servers, but I want to make sure that only my forum can reach the ElasticSearch server, so I need to setup some sort of authentication. Does anyone here have experience doing that? I'd be glad to pay someone for their time to help get ElasticSearch or OpenSearch running securely on my forum. Right now, searching is sometimes extraordinarily slow (I have five million+ posts), and often they will time out. And of course this affects many pages that use the search, such as the activity feeds. So it's really critical that I get this up and running again. Thanks in advance for any help!
  3. Greetings, With my self-hosted forum, I was able to modify the member_group inside conf_global.php to set the initial member group for newly registered members. I had this set to a group called "New Members". I lost this ability when I moved my forum to Invision's cloud-hosting service. Now all members are immediately going into the Members group. The "New Members" group requires that the first three posts be approved by a moderator (using the "Remove content moderation" setting in the group). This was done to identify spammers who might otherwise get past manual validation of user accounts. After 'x' number of posts, the member would then be moved into the "Members" group. I'd like to know the best way to get back to this setup. It seems I need to rename the "Members" group to "New Members", and then move existing members into another group I can call "Members" (and this is the group the "New Members" would ultimately be promoted to). I assume the forum is looking at the ID of the "Members" group to assign to new members, and that renaming it is fine? I see that bulk moving members from one group to another forces the search index to be rebuilt, which is definitely not ideal (as that takes a long time on my forum with five million+ posts). I'd also need to make sure the permissions are all setup properly for that new group. Then rename the old "Members" group to "New Members" and move all the members in the old "New Members" group into this new group (which would cause the search engine to start rebuilding again). And setup the group promotion in the "New Members" group as I had it setup before. Do I have this right? Sure would be nice if we could simply specify what the default member group is from within the ACP. Thank you, ..Al
  4. It's definitely not that. I reset the toolbar configuration, then started adding icons again to the toolbar. After adding a few items, here's the large toolbar in the ACP: Here it is on the front-end: This happens in the Invision theme as well, so it's not unique to the custom theme used for the forum. It's fine until I get to a certain width as I reduce the width of the browser window. Here it is right before it adds the additional toolbar line: At this point I hadn't yet edited the Medium or Small toolbars. And this is with the browser window wide enough that everything can fit on one line:
  5. Correct, it's forcing a new line for some reason after the "Fill Color" icon and I don't know why. If I take out both the Font and Size drop-downs, then it doesn't do this. Looks pretty ugly and is obviously a waste of vertical space as well. ..Al
  6. I'm seeing an odd issue with the editor in 4.7.5. All my icons were reset with the latest upgrade (which is annoying), so I had to repopulate them. Unfortunately, it seems the editor prematurely wraps the icons wherever the Font or Size links appear. For instance, This is rather ugly, and a waste of vertical space in the editor, so I'd like to fix this if possible. It happens in all three modes (large/medium/small). Any insight as to how to fix this would be appreciated. One additional data point, if my browser window is wide enough to display all the icons, they don't wrap. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thank you, ..Al
  7. I have updated to the new version and was able to generate and install the API key without issues. Map seems to be working now, but I haven't really played with it very much except to verify the map comes up and the pins are displaying in their appropriate locations. 🙂 Now to see if I go over the free 3,000 credits per day! ..Al
  8. I do see those same options for the $5 tier. I don't recall seeing that Image Hosting option before, but it's been a while since I've looked at these. All three options are enabled for my forum, so now I'm curious how long they've been doing this and how many files I have hosted on their servers.
  9. Thank you for the additional information, I appreciate it. I was paying $5/month for Tapatalk, and at the time when I first started paying this fee, I thought it was to remove ads, but it seems you need to pay $10 now for that (not sure if that was the case earlier). I don't see any file storage settings, though, do you have a link on Tapatalk's site where this is mentioned? Here's all I see: Also, I laughed at the, "please submit a support ticket, we'll answer your inquiry ASAP." Not in my experience!! Given the various security issues Tapatalk has had over time, plus this business about having to pay them even more to use your own server storage instead of having attachments uploaded to Tapatalk, and I'm very unlikely to re-enable this app on my forum (and I need to cancel my subscription!) ..Al
  10. This is interesting, so what you're saying is anyone who uploads files using the Tapatalk application ends up saving those files on Tapatalk's servers instead of your forum's server? That's pretty terrible, and that alone will prevent me from reinstalling Taptalk. I was running it on my self-hosted forum, but I moved it to Invision's cloud servers recently and hadn't yet re-enabled it, even though members have been asking for it back. Did you ever find a solution to this?
  11. I'm very interested in this! Is it still in development?
  12. I am also unable to install the old Member Map application. When I attempt to do so, I just get a blank screen in the ACP. I do have the newer application running fine, so I'd definitely like to remove this if I can. I found this thread as I'm looking to install ElasticSearch (or OpenSearch) on my cloud-based Invision forum, so I'm trying to clean things up a bit before I do that. @CanalWorld - were you ultimately able to remove the old Member Map app? If so, how did you go about doing it? Thank you!
  13. Thank you, I'll definitely check this out once it's updated (and I need to update my forum to 4.7.x as well, and I see the update includes that support). I especially like the bit where it'll hide quotes for users you have ignored. My members have been complaining about this for a while. ..Al
  14. I'll just need to make sure everything is updated to 4.7.2 before I make the transition myself.
  15. Unfortunately, not really an option for those of us running in the Invision cloud (which I am now doing). ..Al
  16. Thanks for the answer. Sure would be nice if I knew in advance what wouldn't work when upgrading to 4.7.2, versus upgrading, having half my apps/plugins broken, and then waiting for them to be fixed. Especially since some of them are somewhat critical to my community (and most of those are custom apps/plugins I paid to have written).
  17. Is this message only visible after you've upgraded to 4.7.2? ..Al
  18. Guess I was smoking crack thinking I saw a setting for that. There are three things that would be nice to control: A global setting to turn this on or off for the entire forum. A setting that lets the admin choose how many lines to display before truncating. Right now I think it truncates a bit too soon, and obviously that is a personal preference, but on my forum I'd allow the quote box to be a bit larger. A per-user setting that allows members to decide if they want this feature enabled or disabled. I've already had people ask me how they can turn this off. Thank you!
  19. My forum was recently upgraded from 4.4 to 4.7, and one of the new features is that long, quoted posts are not shown in their entirety. Very welcome improvement! However, I have no idea where this setting is in the ACP, but I could have sworn I saw it at some point (and it is enabled on my forum). After searching and then looking through various settings pages in the ACP, I cannot find it for the life of me. Can someone please point it out to me? Thanks!
  20. Thanks for the response, Fosters, I'll take a look at Task Manager. ..Al
  21. I'm now running a 4.7 board using Invision's Cloud service. Previously, I was running a self-hosted version of 4.4.x. I was able to change the initial member group by modifying conf_global.php in the forum root directory. Is there any way to select the initial group now, or will all members be dumped into the Members group by default (which on my forum is ID 3)? Previously I was dumping people into a "New Members" group, where the first three posts for members in that group needed to be approved. Members would then automatically be moved into the "Members" group after 'x' number of posts. Also, if I change any Group Promotions rules, will it automatically run against the entire membership base to apply the updated rules? Thank you!
  22. Greetings, @Fosters! I just updated my forum from 4.4.x to 4.7, and I see this hasn't yet been updated for 4.7, so I cannot install it. Do you have any plans to update this for 4.7, or should I look elsewhere? Thank you, ..Al
  23. Just a followup to this -- Invision disassociated the two apps for me, so I was able to install Community Map and import the data from Member Map. Turns out I purchased this last September but was never able to use it since I was still running 4.4.x. Everything looks great, and thank you for your assistance!
