If you use a pages block you can use it in the template directly.

I mean is there a purpose? All you're doing is opening up those emails to re-register on your site again in the future.

Currently there is no way to add custom widget containers at this time other than in pages and by using the Pages "templates" you would apply the widget containers to the page and done. This means it doesn't work outside of the Pages app.

There is no way to do that. Only admins and global mods will be able to edit it.

Because I do have commerce and I allow guests to see but not download and even my standard members group doesn't have the option to download, you must be an Initiate or basically a member with 10 or more posts to download and this is what you see on my site when it shouldn't even have the download button at all: I mean it errors correctly but the fact that the button shows at all is misleading.

I totally agree. I'm not arguing. I'm just asking for examples. Whatever you want. I posted examples of ways I USE Pages because that's my custom version. I totally agree its underrated and also that it can be simpler. I'm not sure I agree with a line by line list method but I totally can see it as being a valid way to provide content without repetition. I was only asking for examples because hopefully people like @Jordan Invision can come in here see the awesome blocks and see if they can be included ASAP!

I'm sorry. What social network that we are supposedly fighting against provides ANYTHING more than this? They don't even provide this much. They provide a Terms of Service and a Privacy Policy and to them that's good enough. Why are we making more work for ourselves? Then ask for fixes for the ACTUAL problems. Not the fake problems that people are creating through their 2020 conspiracy minds. The problem isn't that people need to "check themselves" the problem is the onboarding in your opinion. Forcing people to CHECK AN EXTRA BOX when they find the "are you human" box annoying ISN'T THE ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM!!!!!! NONE OF THIS HAS TO DO WITH THIS THREAD! Make a new thread! Suggest something different! LITERALLY! (and I don't say that lightly) This thread is to add a check box to a members post that says "I'm being nice in this post". NONE of what you have added or are trying to add are even being considered because it has NOTHING to do with this suggestion. Adding suggestions to already existing suggestions is the worst. It never works out and in the end you never accomplish anything. If you want your suggestion heard create a new topic. Its the primary way that IPS can keep track of multiple suggestions and issues. At this point you're piling unrelated suggestions into a topic that at this point, is likely not even on the IPS radar anymore.

It would force me to click that box to tell you that I disagree with you kindly, which I am doing, so while you think I'm just throwing something in the toilet, what is really happening is I'm providing pointed and proven information as to why this sort of item probably is ineffective and well... pointless. I think of all of us I can say that number one is bullfaeces. Just like there are no “gateway drugs”. When you get into trouble the only way to straighten you out are consequences. And because I can use it, the consequence that scares my daughter the most about what she did was the mental hospital she had to spend time in. Prior to this no matter how much I told her or tried to direct her onto more positive paths including the fact that she would not like a mental hospital didn’t prevent her from doing what she did. The check mark is an admins version of an “are you sure?” Popup. And guess what? If they are sure! They are sure! For your next point. Community is built off of staff behavior and actions. Nothing more. If people get away with being toxic garbage bags then other people believe they can also be toxic garbage bags. If you can express yourself in an adult way and have an adult debate then that will be your community. Your next point is very blah. Sort of goes back to point one of consequences. I’ll bring up a recent example of a person that was stalking and harassing another member of my site. I banned them a while back. They recently reregistered with a new name but all the behaviors were the same, down to the stalkery stuff they said to my other member before. I was still hesitant to do anything until I had legitimate proof it was the same person working around a ban. I banned the new account and moved on with my life. Im going to put this out there but.... none/few of us are therapists or psychiatrists. Whether or not you believe that is IPSs job or not it isn’t your job as an administrator. I can affirm you of that much. I hate to be harsh but the mental well being of your end user isn’t your responsibility and if you make it your responsibility you become liable in so many really bad ways like teachers. Ill finish off with I hope you can trust me on this. Unless you want to be legally liable for your end users well being (which is super sketchy legally) don’t go down that road.

Ewww. I can see this if you are on social media and want a personal account and a brand but on a forum? No. The linked mod provided people in my community to have multiple account for characters prior to my character manager AND allowed for staff members to all be able to post as a staff account instead of individual accounts. This is important for some communities as they would prefer that end users not know who posted the moderator action. I may be amicable to a Brand account or similar sort of shared or separate account that allowed individuals can post using as long as their is a primary owner of said brand account and it’s logging tied into the new anonymous feature that is coming so you always know the actual account that performed an action. issues then become permissions and a mess so... my 2 cents

Out of the box, I can agree but there are SO MANY ways you can use pages it becomes a task determining what are the best defaults. Saying "it looks like garbage fix it" really doesn't help. Especially when the default fields for a new record are literally just title and content. While you can use a record image record images aren't required and that becomes a general back and forth battle. Do I believe there need to be more default blocks that integrate some of the DEFAULT things that IPS allows for? Yes. Yes I do. Do I believe that saying "just do better" helps? No, no I don't. I would recommend, at minimum adding some examples of blocks (from wordpress that is so easy) and request that similar blocks be implemented. You're asking for a visual update without providing any visual evidence.

I mean most big networks use the moderated feature. Its called shadow banning. Its common practice for reddit and many other platforms that don't want to outright remove the person but want to lessen their impact. That's basically what the content moderation feature allows for. The only thing you do from here is remove the "moderated" formatting and then the only way the person knows that they haven't had their post approved would be to log out and look at the thread.

You need to go to the client area and log out. This site uses SSO from the client area part of the site.

So that is just a version of that view. Its barely wide enough for it to think its horizontal. This can be changed to the above one that I mentioned as being default with a ten second template change and no issues with upgrades. I do agree some of the horizontal versus sidebar templates do need a review though.

I mean all of my templates survive upgrades but I choose to do most of it in CSS because the data will never change so the most "updated" things you normally need to do is through CSS but only if you've completely customized it. The above are using other IPS blocks that I just made minor customizations of DATA for myself.
