This is absolutely no longer the recommended approach with HTTP/2 becoming mainstream, just FYI. Naturally there's always a balance, but I would recommend reading up some more on best ways to handle CSS/Javascript with HTTP/2 to learn more.

To anybody who comes across this IPS article, I strongly encourage you to try "Love Our Lurkers" week as outlined in the DigitalMarketer blog: https://www.digitalmarketer.com/blog/activate-community-members/
Suzi Nelson is now Community Strategist at Facebook.
I recently conducted the "Love Our Lurkers" week in my Invision community in October.  I saw some amazing results as measured by the Statistics module in the ACP:
25% more community activity (includes activity like reactions) 40% more posts (specific to forum discussion) 140% more members who visited More importantly, I got real and sustained activity across the board from all levels of membership:
Activation of inactive members - I had inactive members pop out of the woodwork, and they’re now some of the biggest posters on a daily basis. Activation of new members - One of the nice side effects is that new members got a 5 day blast, and because they didn’t know any better, I’m seeing a sustained increase of activity from the very beginning of their membership. Higher activity of existing members - I’ve been lucky to have some strong members who regularly check-in and post, but they’ve stepped up their activity both during and after the Lurker week. Higher check-ins from lurkers - One of the most interesting insights is that, in addition to getting active participation from prior lurkers, I had many more members login

    Aha! Enjoyed your post @Joel R !
I actually knew all 5 but re number 2, which I remember being discussed a while ago and I think it was Matt who couldn't believe nobody knew about it; I couldn't recall for the life of me what the icons meant! And I've already forgotten!
5: The sliding profile cover image I discovered quite by accident thanks to using an iPad, and I really like it. Awesome in its own uselessness, it's actually kind of therapeutic, repeatedly tapping it. Go try it now!
I'd love to see your community Joel, always been interested to see how you have it set up and make use of facilities. 😊

In a perfect IPS world there shouldn't be "secret" tips. They should be known by all. It is really great to have many features but if the users are not aware of them something is wrong with the UI.
There should be an inbuilt interactive help/tipp system that explains all features and functions.
Nevertheless, thanks for this article, I highly appreciate it.

I use Pages too for 2 others database ("contest" & "deals" with different design). I think your Pages is very extraordinary and members need it for more. That's why I'm happy to use your ips package on my site and if I say that it's because before I'm newbie  with  Pages but you can do many without to be a professional in coding html (I just learn many messages on your community, your help guides, download package on marketplace just for understand how work something and after I just try, try, try, try and again try different thing for to do it). 😉
    (sorry for my bad english).

Nice done, it looks like you could do this even in 4 minutes . Please more examples of pages usage and include more ready to use templates like @opentype is offering.
On my site the pages app is a large part of my community, use it for reviews, as a link directory, for model sedcards, article magazine, quote database by @opentype .

Ramsesx got a reaction from bfarber in How to successfully convert your platform and breathe new life into your community
After 10 months of testing, customizing, learning all the new stuff (settings etc.), some days ago I converted my lovely vBulletin 3.x forum to IPS 4.3. (11 years old, 450.000 posts)
I was really scared during the whole conversion process and every single difference from the norm resulted in small panic attacks.
IPS Staff @Daniel F 's support during this time was a real life saver, he has given so much above and beyond his duty. He is a real, big asset IPS has to offer,
Well, so far my members are loving it. There were no real complaints, except one user was asking if he still can change the topic view to have the newest posts first like it was possible in vB. Another user complained about missing profile comments and post attachments. Hopefully IPS staff can recover this data soon. Maybe I did something wrong in the conversing process. One user complained about the search function. I explained to him how it works.
To help the members getting a good experience I created some video tutorials about new functions. Right now the overall activity on site is still some quiet but I hope I can revive my forum to new spheres soon.  Some more work have to be done like moving forum parts into pages and smaller changes here and there.
But for now I am really satisfied with the situation at the whole. Running my community in the last years was really boring, it didn't makes fun and I let things go down.
The new IPS forum changed things a lot. Now I LOVE IT to browse my forum and enjoy it so much how it works, how it feels and how it looks. It is an absolute fantastic new experience I can't describe in words. The same feeling was there when I started with forums on vB 3.5.  No, not the same, now it is way better. My new Invision forum is so cool I could play with 24 hours without a break.
So many features and so lovely implemented, thank you Invision Team for this great job.
The only bad experience was with the plugins and applications, maybe 30% contain more or less bugs. This gave me a lot of headaches and sometimes too much anger.
But hey,  I want to close with a positive feeling. IPS is the leader and I love it.

Sorry guys, while 4.3.3 has the GDPR improvements, it also contains numerous bug fixes and so we need to carry it through our normal release schedule. We avoid late-week releases because we are not open for general support on the weekends. Tuesday is our target release date.
    Have a good weekend!
