Joy Rex got a reaction from sobrenome in 4.5: Two feature additions
There is an addon that does this:

Quote Collapse
We will finish with another popular feature request; the ability for long quotes to be collapsed, reducing the amount of scrolling one has to do.
Quite simply, Invision Community collapses long quotes with an option to expand them to read the entire quote.
Well, that will eliminate one plugin I have - great!

Joy Rex reacted to Yamamura in 4.5: Introducing our updated default theme
Like this?
Very "improved"...
OMG 😱 "elements having room to breathe" © Rikki 🤣😭
It should look like this:

This is great to see, by chance is this going to come with FontAwesome 5 upgrade?

Joy Rex got a reaction from Wolfie in 4.5: New Post-Installation Onboarding
I think this could be useful to seasoned admins as well as newbies, as it may show a feature despite running a forum for years, you may not know about.
Is this something you can toggle on even if you are upgrading to 4.5, or is this only triggered for new installations?

Joy Rex reacted to Dean_ in 4.5: Zapier Brings Integration with Over 2,000 Web Apps
So even more money to spend?
Why isn't such a feature inbuilt with having automated tasks, if someone can make an app like rules automated why can't you? I don't understand why this needs to be outsourced, I get for things like mailchimp and the like but other inbuilt actions.
Absolutely no benefit to the average user/community. I wish you'd take on more ideas to what people are asking for and expanding on it. We had a previous discussion on this on a topic about not seeing features that people have been asking for years with the usual outcome of 'we can't see it being popular', yet we see new features/addons like this?
Sorry for being negative, but feedback is feedback. (Sorry if I've completely missed the point in this app)

Joy Rex got a reaction from Matt in 4.5: ACP Dark Mode
So without any dark mode support on the official default theme, sunglasses sales will go through the roof (for our end users) - we should offer them for sale via Commerce 🤣
-
Joy Rex reacted to KT Walrus in 4.5: ACP Dark Mode
Simply allow us as admins to set an attribute on each installed theme that designates the modes the theme supports, either light, dark, or both. Next, have the ACP Themes section support setting a default theme for light mode users and a default theme for dark mode users. Admins can then choose a third party theme for users in dark mode and the default IPS theme for users in light mode. IPS could even provide a separate dark default theme to be used by those of us that don't use third party themes.
Finally, when a theme is loaded, it should be very simple to have a JS check for current mode and load the appropriate theme (as set in the theme attributes - light/dark/both).
I think this would be pretty easy to implement and not put any burden for third party themes since the dark mode theme would be a separate theme from the light mode theme. No big changes required to the existing IPS theming system either.

Joy Rex reacted to 13. in 4.5: ACP Dark Mode
What a strange excuse. It's the problem of the users of these third-party themes. Why we're who use the official theme should suffer because of them?

Joy Rex reacted to Matt in 4.5: Notification Improvements
We updated the ACP to match the front end, but your point is valid, we can add a "remove all email notifications" link.

What would be awesome during password selection to reach out and use https://haveibeenpwned.com/API/v3 as information apart of the password strength-o-meter.

Joy Rex got a reaction from LiquidFractal in 4.5: Club Pages
This is a great enhancement to Clubs - good to see the feature getting more love.

Joy Rex reacted to Sonya* in 4.5: Club Pages
Love it.
If it would be possible to set the permission of WHO can edit the page, it would perfect, so that not only owners but also leaders have the permission.

They already said that this won’t come in points or releases like that. Wait it for IPS5.

Joy Rex reacted to TDBF in 4.5: Your new admin control panel
As someone once said... 'If it ain't broke, don't try fix it'.
This just seems like change for change sake, and certainly wasn't one of the things which was on my mind when it came to improvements that could have been made to the suite overall.
This is not meant as a criticism, more an observation. 🙂

Joy Rex reacted to ASTRAPI in 4.5: Your new admin control panel
The redesign looks great but please make it darker !

Joy Rex reacted to AndyF in 4.4: New Email Features
That does make sense in that it ensures if the reader is interested they return to the community get the "whole content" 🙂
Are you suggesting (just a thought) an additional setting: Something like "limit to x characters" , it probably would work with sane values applied.

Joy Rex got a reaction from Numbered in 4.4: Animated GIFs
I think a "play on hover/tap*" feature for GIFs would be great from a UX perspective, but also from a performance perspective - no endlessly looping GIFs slowing down browsers or mobile devices.
*for mobile since there is no hover
In fact, here's how: https://www.hongkiat.com/blog/on-click-animated-gif/
