So, to me, this is absolutely bonkers.

IPS' team has noticed that their plugin community is a fraction of what it used to be, thinks this is because everyone has switched to bespoke work (You sure it's not the other way around? People using bespoke work /because/ the plugin community has a fraction of the size it did back when there was a free version and before IPS was trying to be everything for every person by default?).

So they /murder/ pre-made plugins. No, we're not going to see thriving new marketplaces. Excited devs will start some, none of these will be as active as the current one, most if not all of these efforts will peter out quickly. Not having the marketplace in the panel, not having them vetted by IPS, not having people browse over them prior to purchasing IPS (and plan out a setup with plugins), not having their plugins listed on IPS' websites are all small cuts that together, cut deep. IPS' website was never a limiter on other marketplaces (they've always existed for themes and some plugins), but free advertisement to those who did have those. You're merely taking away an option and your stamp of approval.

And you do this brilliant move in the middle of a version, announcing it to your costumers roughly a month up-front.

Definitely not obvious you're springing it this way to ensure customers don't either, mass-hug a former major version to keep their plugins, or start planning migrations away from IPS between the time of announcement and release.

Now, months after it happened, I google 'Invisionpower plugins marketplace' and find nothing on the first page.

Sincerely, as someone who was a fan once of IPS, you people suck.

As expected yet another dev has abandoned it altogether. It is only becoming more and more effort, numerous different dev sites to sign up to, costlier to develop custom replacements, increased passing the buck chances.
    😞

This issue has been resolved in the latest 4.7.11.1 release. Please upgrade your site to resolve this, and let us know if you have any further issues

"Free" is a very misleading term when it comes to social media platforms.  Users of social media voluntarily become the product in exchange for being able to use the "free" things that social media companies make available to them.
I would rather pay Invision for the continued evolution of IPBoard, and pay extra for premium features that go above and beyond what the basic platform provides, than have Invision incorporate Facebook-esque marketing algorithms into the software and monetize my community's members for Invision's gain.

This is correct, and will also only affect PHP 8, as it's the update to 8.0.17 that is causing the issues. We're trying to work around it at present
The only thing I can really say there is we would need to see it in that state to advise. My suspicion is that zlib hasnt been properly disabled to be honest. Its too coincidental that it's the same symptoms at exactly the same time as everyone else

If you are running a on cpanel then this update only came out on the 23rd and will have been automatically done in the background.
The update is to easyapache and part of the cpanel updates

I'm not sure its theme related because ACP was inaccessible for me.

If you are running WHM on your server, see here:
There seems to have been an automatic update that happened. Try disabling zlib.output_compression in your PHP configuration, or contact your host and ask them to disable it if you are unable to.

I very much suspect there has been an update on WHM that has broken things. Ive seen the same on a server I have here for testing, and several others have had the same issue

Are you forcing gzip encoing on your server anywhere? If so, please remove that and test again. This will be either server setup, or could even be cookies, so try clearing those on your device

In this case it was something broken in the datastore. You can delete everything in the datastore folder, other than the index file.

I have cleared the datastore there, which has resolved the issue with the site not being online there. Please let us know if you see any further problems

Just a suggestion for feature improvements to save potential bandwidth costs 🙂
S3 Outgoing bandwidth costs money and we host video uploads as well. So I had given public access via a policy and set a Referer condition to limit bandwidth leaching.
This works for own uploads but not for forum uploads as IPB explicitly grants public LIST access.
    Policy on the bucket
    { "Version": "2012-10-17", "Statement": [ { "Sid": "PublicReadGetObject", "Effect": "Allow", "Principal": "*", "Action": "s3:GetObject", "Resource": "arn:aws:s3:::MyBucketName/*", "Condition": { "StringLike": { "aws:Referer": [ "https://www.domain.com/*", "https://domain.com/*" ] } } } ] } Permissions set by IPB

F the PHP is also lit!
Do you guys ever consider sharing your feature roadmap and bouncing it off the clients in a private forum/blog/whatever?  Seems like there's a lot of interest in what's on the horizon, and clients being in the dark about it waiting for the surprise.  How does IPS determine relative value of a feature as it relates to their clients' needs without establishing that feedback loop (PS the comments here aren't a good feedback loop)
