    Hello,
    Just confused.
Do you want to add a banner on the index page after specific forum?

Or do you want to add a banner on the page of specific forum?

@Fosters - I'm looking for this same thing - the ability to add blocks in the spots above and under forums/threads, in addition to the sidebar. Depending on cost, I may be willing to sponsor the initial development of this feature. Please let me know if this is something you'd consider.

Very cool, but is it possible in future versions to be able to insert the blocks below the list of forums in the categories as shown in the arrow in the figure below?

I apologize for continuing to be annoying, but I've been using this topic to report the difficulties I have in managing the community without this essential tool.
Our forum is a community of independent travelers, backpackers, hikers and thru-hikers.  Among our members is this couple from the post below, both have been in the community for over 10 years. They have traveled almost every trail in Brazil and not just the short trails, they have traveled the main long distance trails of the country, some of them more than once.
To publicize their topics and other participants we use our social networks that are very well shared and bring half of our traffic today. See in the image below what was the photo that the system chose for us to divulge the inspiring adventures of an elderly couple practicing long distance trails.

How can you post this post with this featured photo on social networks?
They have just arrived on the road and are doing this post, you and we are tied hands without being able to program it on our Facebook page. If someone shares this in your profile, this will be the photo that will be released.
What did I do before to solve this problem?
I entered the IPB TAGS editing system and manually placed the og: image tag.
What happened and why do not I do it?
Because I realized a lot of time later using this method, that the tag system created a bug causing multiple pages to repeat the meta tags.
I was advised by you not to use the tag system for this purpose anymore. To delete all the tags you had included, leaving only one tag on the main page.
From there to here I did not post the content of the Forum on our Facebook page, just the content of our blog.
This is a real account of a real problem that makes day-to-day management of content disclosure in social networks impractical. If there is no intention to include a resolution to this problem in the next versions, could not then create a plugin so that the page administrator could customize the featured image, just including it in the meta tags?

I honestly believe that this needs to be covered and start thinking in someway to be able to share posts more social networks friendly.

This feature has been missing a lot in our forum and I'm sure it's missing on every forum that uses social networks to spread content.
Our 2 main sources of traffic are Google and Facebook. Almost close to 50% / 50%. Google through SEO and Facebook through posting our highlights in our fanpage.
In Facebook we can not post the content of the forum in our fanpage because we can not choose the featured image of the post that in facebook is configured through the og: image tag.
All content posted on the fanpage is from our blog because Wordpress has the feature of choosing the featured image.
We install the modification that randomly chooses the image, but in 90% of cases the photos chosen by the system is not the best in the post and posting unattractive photos in social networks is total loss of time.
Without flashy photos the posts do not viralize and thus 90% of our content can not be effectively diluted.
The lack of this feature also decreases the chance of getting more traffic by sharing users, whether on Facebook or Twitter.
Users want to post the content created in the forum on their social networks and without this feature does not work if it is a still or random photo. Ideally the user and the admin would have this option.

Most of your users access the responsive version with IOS and will continue to access, even if they create a PWA. There's no reason to create a desktop-only version, right? The theme of responsive design would remain the same, the novelty would be the PWA. One thing don't need to replace the other. The difference is that users could have that option and the search engines too, which instead of indexing a page with 15s of load, would index to compatible mobile which loads in 5s or much less.

Anyway, we can not ignore that IOS is used by the minority of users and since 2009 has only fallen. It's almost 10 years since the fall. On the other hand the use of android only increases every year.

I agree, this is what I'm using. IPS seems to have a good amount of framework around Redis which seems to be the preferred caching method.

Install Redis and Cloudflare that will greatly improve. From the rest is to wait for version 4.4 that will solve the issue of images

That is a good sign.... it means you are actually pondering what we are asking for.. ;-)
I know it is a big job... but it would blow away ALL competition.
If you added a PWA, real-time private messaging, your platform would begin to leave all the others in the dust.

Well, you have options depending upon your comfort level.
The simplest solution for most of our clients is to create a PNG image twice the size of your logo (as @Joy Rex just alluded to) and upload that as your logo in the theme. You may or may not need to tinker with some size settings or CSS to ensure the logo displays at the height you want.
If you're comfortable with CSS and HTML (and our theme manager), you could upload separate regular and 2x sized images using the Manage Theme Resources tool, and then manually reference them in the template correctly (using srcset and sizes attributes).
Or if you understand SVGs well enough, you could upload those and reference those in the template as well, just the same.
    Basically you have two routes:
The easy route is to just upload a logo image using the built in uploader The longer route that gives you more control is to manually upload your files to the manage resources page, and then adjust the logo template accordingly

Silnei L Andrade reacted to Joy Rex in Official SVG header/logo support
For a HiDPI or "retina" display logo, you need to make the logo at 2x pixels so on those devices it will display sharper.
Googling "how to make retina-ready images" should provide some tutorials.

Silnei L Andrade reacted to bfarber in Official SVG header/logo support
Just to be clear, the SVG mention in the blog entry relates specifically to the Safari Mask Icon, not the theme header/logo.
A custom theme can add custom theme options, including the ability to upload an SVG logo.

SVG files require alot of work and brute forcing to get the desired affect compared to a png file.
    Why use an SVG file?
Infinite scaling +/-. Can be animated with semi transparency and maintain its quality unlike gifs. I've read a few posts that gently comment on it being "in the pipeline" however nothing confirmed.

    @opentype
Would you be open to changing it so that the 'share' image remains hidden and that it's added when using the new topic/edit screen? i.e you attach the file when creating a new topic/ or are editing a topic, you click to add a custom share image and then the image remains private on the site but can be seen via social media.
