Joey_M got a reaction from Maxxius in A sneak peek...
I am reading and seeing a lot of clients unhappy that features are becoming cloud exclusive.
It's a cool concept and idea. If I was a cloud customer I'd be quite excited about it. Maybe have a think about keeping both sides of the fence happy? I get this would be hard to incorporate in a self-hosted environment. I would accept that, but I bet there's no self-hosted exclusive features. 🤣
IPS still rocks, just need to see some initiatives for the general scope.

Always a good idea 😄

Joey_M got a reaction from SeNioR- in CSRF Protection issue
Thank you, Nathan.
The beta version of 111 runs fine (without the CSRF issue).

If you ever want to test later versions of Chrome safely, install Chrome Beta (which is the 'Next' version) and Chrome Dev (which is the next beta) from the Google Play store. 3 separate browsers, thrice the fun!

No worries. Just glad it was a simple configuration file issue and not something deeper 🙂

Looks like somehow your "installed" variable in your conf_global.php was turned to false so the system thought you needed to install. I set that to true and then uploaded the constants.php again. Then turned on Recovery Mode for you, disabled all third party items, and then disabled it. Things seem to be functioning now so there is an error with one of your third party addons there.

@Joey_M you need to edit this by using your FTP access to edit constants.php and then you will be able to use the recovery mode.

Joey_M got a reaction from DSystem in Who We Are - IP.Board 4.x
@InvisionHQ: Please consider adding an option to fill rows, rather than show x amount of users. Now IPS is responsive, it makes more sense to say fill 4 rows.
If there's space for 10, it would be 10x4
On mobiles if it can only show 3 per line, it would be 3x4
No empty user space.
This would be awesome for 4.7 updates. Please consider it.

No problem. In your defence, I've been in there 300000000000000000000000 times before 😄

I believe this is what you are looking for
I am aware that some parts of this may need updating

Joey_M reacted to Marc Stridgen in Most Online number incorrect and stuck
Its likely what has happened is that its been manually set at some point. Edit that block, then delete the number in there. It should then set itself the next time most online is hit

You mean via CSS? I have no idea. Not good at all with it and that would be customization.
Notifications:
<li class='cNotifications cUserNav_icon'> This app:
<li class='cUserNav_icon' Let me know if it requires an ID or something to make it easier for you then I can add in next version.
You can also edit the template for now, add your ID and target it.

Joey_M reacted to Marc Stridgen in Yay for changes: Questions re latest version upgrade
This changed quite some time ago. You would require customisation in order to move that to where it was previously

It shouldn't actually be switching anything to a different default app on updates, so something seems to have gone wrong there unfortunately. Glad to see you sorted the issue in any case

Joey_M got a reaction from Meddysong in (NB41) My Football
Unfortunately, I fear we've lost a great part of the community here at IPS to some form of illness. When I asked Newbie LAC to build me this application, he listened and delivered one of the best third-party applications. His support, knowledge, improvements and general approach will be missed.
It's difficult to type this, as I still have thoughts of Newbie returning.
I still need this application and I have found a developer willing to remake it from scratch. Would anyone be willing to share its development cost? If we can do this, it saves it becoming custom. 👍

Joey_M got a reaction from SeNioR- in CKEditor 4 end of life - alternative editor consideration
I can't pretend to know much about the different types of editors, but I actually like CKEditor. There's been no issues, that I've personally experienced with it.
IPS should base their decision on a mix of things, not what's now trendy or fashionable.
I'm not suggesting anyone feels this way, but I do know CKEditor isn't something that will disappear over night. It's also well supported, has useful add-ons. If, other editors are stable, user friendly, responsive and isn't going to fall off the face of the earth then fair enough.
But I don't feel a change is needed for the sake of it, it's got to be balanced and we'll thought out.
Requiring to change again in the near future can put people off, I don't think members care about this function - provided it's simply, easy to use and does its job.

There's nothing new regarding @newbie LAC's health. I personally fear the worst.
Newbie wouldn't just abandon his work, plus I am of the mindset that he would've provided some sort of update if he could. We can only speculate, but I hope he's actually doing well or at least being taken care of. Maybe someone from IPS @Matt @Lindy @Charles could make some formal comment.
I am seeing a lot of comments on his resources about updates, along with frequent messages to myself.
The main concern is Newbie's health, perhaps even sorting something out to support him if he is having treatment of a serious nature. Resources don't remotely come near to life, but it's not knowing which makes things worst.
I don't think having resources remade would be a solution that is fair, without understanding what the situation may be.
PS. Perhaps the resources should be closed within the forum from comment? There's only so many times I, or another concerned customer tries to remind people that Newbie hasn't been well and was in hospital (as his signature stated).

Joey_M got a reaction from OptimusBain in Force Guests to Pay First then create an invoice
It does my head in the amount of invoices that are generated but actually aren't paid, I think this suggestion would eliminate the issue - especially when guests do it.
Serious buyers will put in their name/address etc
So, many guests don't even bother and there's no way to remind someone who doesn't leave any information - so what's the point in the generated invoice?

Joey_M got a reaction from Eric BXL in (NB40) Recent Topics/Posts
There won't be any updates for the time being, Newbie was hospitalized and, it seems a lot more serious considering he hasn't returned. If he was able, he would reply. Unfortunately, I fear he's passed on. 😞
