Invision Community 4.2

Here is the roundup of what's new in Invision Community 4.2!

Highlights

There's a lot of new feature in 4.2 but here are a few of the highlights:

Promoting ContentA new way to promote content in your Community internally, on Facebook, and on Twitter.

ClubsClubs are a brand new way of supporting sub-communities within your site. Many people have requested social group functionality in the past and Clubs are our implementation of this concept.

ReactionsOffer more fine-grained sentiments towards content than a simple up/down or 'like'. They are now in common usage on social networks, and so users expect to be able to be more nuanced in their response to something they see.

Complete Your ProfileEncourage or require members to fill out the details on their profile. Also now allows for quick registration to encourage joining.

And a whole lot more..

It goes on... here is the full list!

Be sure to visit each entry above for more information and screenshots. We hope you enjoy Invision Community 4.2!

This is not clear to me. When does summer begin in your country ? (in the place where I live, we only have summer and winter)

Spring March-April-May

Summer June-July-August

Autumn September-October-November

Winter December-January-February

Has anyone confirmed that the tapatalk plugin works with the 4.2 beta?

Tapatalk has rewritten the app for 4.2, and testing now, for all the cic clients it will also install and update via the admincp only, we have been working with them to make this push to a proper installer and updates, so it's great to see!

Wish they had support for pages , gallery and other applications. Wonder if they will be able to handle new reactions, clubs etc ...

Yes - but wouldn't it be even better if IPS support push on mobile?

Almost all modern email (exchange, gmail, apple, etc) is instant and supports "push" use a real email provider/account and use the mobile browser :)

That is what we call a workaround :)

As a cloud user, I think I can answer this,

Yes it is, but you have to send in a support ticket to get it....

I have and they are supporting it good for me, works good and I can't wait till the final comes out.

Just know that half your apps won't work, as all of the authors are waiting till stable release comes out to update their apps and plugins

What kind of news is going to be available just for Forums license people? Everything looks so great but I've got just the forums license. :(

Most of the changes are suite wide, so most of the mentioned news will also affect you

So where is the minify and combine feature gone from IPBoard 3?

CSS and Javascript content are already minified and combined (where logical) behind the scenes - no secondary processing needed (this is done by the theme system automatically).
