4.5: Your new admin control panel

Invision Community has come a long way over the past five years.

We've added many new features and invigorated the front-end user experience to keep it current and in-line with modern interfaces.

One area that has remained largely the same is the Admin Control Panel.

When we released Invision Community 4.0 back in 2014, the Admin Control Panel was updated but has stayed relatively dormant since.

But that's all about to change with the upcoming release of Invision Community 4.5!

The Admin Control Panel in 4.5 has received a substantial update, resulting in a modern color scheme and a clean, minimalistic design.

We felt that a lighter, more open design allowed the content more space and to feel less crowded.

The dark grays have been replaced with shades of blue and aqua which closely reflects Invision Community's new branding, while other colors have been lightened and saturated.

Along with the new color scheme, the overall layout of the ACP has intentionally been kept similar to the existing version, resulting in a design that feels surprisingly familiar yet refreshingly new at the same time.

We hope you've enjoyed this small sneak peek into Invision Community 4.5 and we look forward to introducing you to some more new features in the upcoming weeks!

Hi @Ehren

When I upgraded from 3.x to 4 all my translations and email templates were lost and I had to re-translate everything again. I hope this time you guys took this in consideration and it is not going to happen again 🙂

Upgrading between major versions from version 3 to version 4 will usually involve issues like this. Upgrading between minor versions such as 4.4 to 4.5 won't result in "lost data".

Cool and all but wasted time.

Not true, since a good user interface can improve efficiency in using it. Just because it’s not the front end doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be improved.

Matt, I appreciate the humour, can get on board with that, but at the same time I hope the feedback is being noted and considered.

The majority of posts about it won't always line up with the majority of customers' views, however. Just like on America's Got Talent and The Voice.... if you go by comments on youtube you'd be shocked who gets voted off because you assume the majority of voters feel like the majority of commenters.

That said, personally I like how the look of 4.4 is on both the front end and acp side. Once I am used to something I hate the look being changed up.

I like the idea of the colour changes, but please could you make it so its easier to understand what colours you can change. Ive been faffing with colours for the last 4 hours and knowing exactly what colours im actually changing and where is hurting my head.

For example, my admin panel writing has turned white at the top of every page, only way i can see them is my highlighting the area with my mouse. Ive changed every colour other than white and still says the same, even when pressing support and clearing the cache, still white lol
