1. Hello, I feel we should revisit the platform’s compliance with GDPR, in light of the latest developments and clarifications issued by the EU. Had some discussions, read a lot about this and it's clear to me that the classic Cookie strip with one button (I accept) simply doesn't cut it anymore and would make the website owner liable for not fully following the current regulations. It's been brought to my attention from the ad network we use, that we should provide a full Consent message to every visitor of our site, and give them the option to choose which cookies, if any, they would want to be used during their visit. There are already many services out there like Cookiebot, Quantcast and OneTrust which can scan one’s site and automate the process by creating this banner. Of course even if they have limited free packages, my main concern is that there are limitations to styling, speed, translation, etc. I feel that such features must be provided from the platform itself, which must integrate the IAB Consent Framework. A valid cookie consent banner has to look like the one Cookiebot provides, offering the ability to choose the type of cookies the visitor wants. If you’d like to see a live example, visit this page. Cookiebot Consent Banner analytic view Two links from the Cookiebot site, which I really feel that they offer a full picture of what is the proper way to have a GDPR Consent banner in your site. GDPR and cookies | GDPR cookie consent | Is my use of cookies compliant? Active consent and the case of Planet49 | CJEU | GDPR & ePR I’d very much like to read your thoughts on this and particularly whether such options are included in the roadmap.

    PWA maskable icon

There's currently no option to set icons being maskable or not. And IPB, by default doesn't set the maskable attribute. Google Lighthouse Audit as such doesn't rate the PWA setup as optimized. Would be great to either set it by default in the manifest file, or add an option for us to set the maskable attritbute ourselfs. https://web.dev/maskable-icon-audit/?utm_source=lighthouse&utm_medium=devtools Of course, this isn't just about Google Lighthouse Rating improvement, but it also allows us to mask the icon 😉

This is a modern Dark-/Night-Mode Design based on the new Invision Community 4.5 (and above) Theme. Lightweight, pure CSS, no additional graphics were used. You can see a LIVE DEMO on our site at InvisionFocus.de (select Bravo 6 in the footer). Tested with Forums, Pages and Downloads. It's well maintained, because we use it on our own website. If you find any possible bugs, we'll fix them immediately. It's free and comes without any brandings or visible copyrights.

  4. Hey there, since updating to 4.6.2 my members are missing the feature of emphasized topic titles for unread topics / posts in topic feeds. Support told me they removed this feature due to performance reasons. Could you please re-add this feature or at least make it configurable? My board never had performance issues due to this feature and I'd really like to have it back. Those topics still get emphasized in the normal forum view but not when included in topic feeds. Many regards Marco

  5. There should be better possibilities to retrieve certain data within an RSS feed for Pages. Yes, there's now the possibility to generate custom RSS feeds, but it still lacks lots of options as its an extremely basic filter. What it currently generates:

Topic_Title

Actual text content

There's currently no possbility to include any of the additionaly added fields. I haven't tested all of them, but i'm pretty certain that none of them are included in any feed. These are just examples, to outline what's not possible with any RSS feed feature given by IPB: Category [Type: Select Box] (To define articles in the RSS feed) Summary [Type: Text Area] (Text field, for proper news summaries) Thumbnail [Type: Upload] (Additional image upload for smaller image versions) Here's are the example setup fields: It would be great, if we could define which additional fields are included in the RSS feed. Or at least include all fields by default. So we can achieve something like this:

Topic_Title

Actual text content, lorum ipsum its a lot.

<thumbnail>https://mysite.com/community/uploads/thumbnail.png</thumbnail>
This is a quick summary.

  16. There isn't any way in which to really do what you are asking directly there. As mentioned above, you would be much better to have a database which is built specifically for that purpose

  17. Instead of an overcomplicated registration process with several usergroups and tons of profile fields, I would set up two kinds of directories (one for engineers and one for doctors), for example something like this https://invisioncommunity.com/third-party/providers/

    Redis 6 compatibility

Because we are waiting on the new release. You should have seen my site was taken 250MB from the ram, and normally 70MB before the update. Now after this patch back same range 68MB, and the site seems back to how it was with 4.5 version.

    Redis 6 compatibility

I know. Also, I don't know if you had issues with it before, but me and @The Old Man notice some issues. I disabled it because IPS staff are working on huge amount of bugs, yet they released this patch. I decided to enable it back after this patch, and I noticed that it's working fine again.

    What's new in 4.6.0?

Well, friends, what a journey we've been on since we started work on Invision Community 4.6.0. With 11 developers accumulating 934 commits over 3,157 files changing 120,281 lines of code, we're ready to show it to the world. Along with over 260 bug fixes, this new release contains some great new functionality. Let's take a look at what's new. Achievements Achievements, badges, ranks, rules, gamification, whatever you want to call it, this is the most significant feature for Invision Community 4.6.0. This brings a whole new level of earning and showing trust to other members while gently nudging more quality contributions to your community. Zapier integration Do you want new member registrations to magically appear in a Google spreadsheet? Perhaps you want members who opt-in for newsletters to be added to Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign. Cloud and Enterprise customers can do all this and more without writing a single line of code, thanks to Zapier. Web app and push notifications We took the time to round out our PWA (progressive web application) framework for 4.6.0 to include service workers, push notifications and more. I barely understand it, but Rikki takes you through the changes in our blog entry. Anonymous posting For some types of community, where discussion topics are particularly sensitive, community owners want to make sure that members register with their real details but are given the option to post anonymously where appropriate. For example, organisations dealing with abuse or sensitive topics might want the member to feel safe and disinhibited to post info without fear of being identified by the rest of the community. Solved content In Invision Community 4.6.0, we have rounded out our "solved" feature by allowing the feature to be enabled on a regular forum, along with notifications, statistics and more. Show when a team member has replied When you're scanning a list of topics, it's helpful to know when a community team member has replied, as these replies tend to have more authority and are more likely to resolve an issue. 4.6.0 adds a feature to show when a member of the team has replied. Health dashboard As Invision Community is a top of the line community platform with excellent developers and an amazing QA team, it's unlikely ever to go wrong. On the infrequent occasions that you need to identify potential issues within your community, the new health dashboard makes it easier to diagnose problems and request support. Spam improvements Our Enterprise customers run very visible and very busy communities. One of the pain points they had was identifying and limiting the annoyance of spam within the community. We created a new round of improvements based on that feedback to mitigate spam, and these changes are available to all Invision Community owners with 4.6.0. Cloud and Enterprise customers will also benefit from multiple under-the-hood optimisations for our cloud platform, including better caching of resources for faster response times. Let me know in the comments which feature you're looking forward to the most!

  31. I've been testing out the club feature and seeing how it handles forums. I'm glad it shows the forums in the normal index, however I'm disappointed in the 0 control in the order of them. I'm not even sure how it's ordering them. Having some way to just re-order them in some way. However, the main feature I really want is to just show each club's forum as a sub-forum under their club's name. Example below. I think it would be much more clean and organized looking rather than just having a huge list of redundant forum names. EDIT: I've also noticed creating a club sets you as the owner forever, even after removing yourself and setting someone else as the owner. It says I'm a member on my profile and in the clubs page, despite me not being.
