  1. 1. I agree with @Abies to make this board-specific. 2. Will you turn this on in your own community? Asking for a friend. And every IPS client who has ever posted in the feedback forum. 3. Parity of apps - will we see this badge on other apps?

  2. Wouldn't it be great to know if a staff member had replied to a topic before you clicked to open it? When you're scanning a list of topics, knowing which have had a reply by a member of the community team can help decide which to read. Currently, you need to open the topic and scan the posts to see if there's a reply from the team. Happily, in our next release, we've made it clear which have had a reply by a member of a specific group. You can specify which groups to show as having replied via the Groups form in the Admin CP. The per-group setting in the Admin CP You can select to detect the group based on the member's primary group, secondary group or both. When viewing a list of topics, you will see a badge showing that a member of that group has replied. This simple feature will make it easier to highlight when important replies have been made to topics, which is a great addition for forums using the new 'solved' feature. Let me know below if you'll use this new feature and what you'd like to see in the future.

  3. Just to be clear. I have had a large life event that affected my family and requires a lot of my attention which will make me unresponsive to unsolicited requests for assistance. Please be understanding that while I do help people around the forum, this is is a hobby and I do it when I can but I cannot just drop everything to assist as my family is far more important to me. Please do not send me a PM for assistance unless I direct you to. Post in the forums and if I have time I will assist but there are also tons of other really helpful people that may be able to help you before me. As it stands any PMs for help that I didn't request will be ignored until further notice. Thanks for understanding.

  4. For a long time, Invision Community has supported a Question and Answer mode within the Forums application which allows a reply to be flagged as the "best answer" to the question posed. With the release of 4.5, we also introduced a way to allow topics to be marked as "solved" which introduces similar functionality without transforming the look and feel or other behavior of the forum itself. Based on the popularity of this new addition in 4.5, we have made some further improvements to solved topics and answered questions in our next release. Notification to topic/question starter While notifications were available to the poster who answered a question or solved a topic with the release of 4.5, this release also adds notifications for the topic or question starter so that they can be made aware that an answer is available to their question. Topic and question starters now get notifications for solutions AdminCP Statistics Solved topics and answered questions provide for measurable statistics that can help you determine the health and direction of your community, particularly for support communities. To that end, we have introduced two new content statistic blocks that can help you measure how well areas of the community that support answers and solutions are faring. New AdminCP statistics You can now quickly see the percentage of topics/questions that have been solved (relative to the total number posted in areas that support solutions), as well as the average time it has taken for a solution to be marked on a topic or question (relative to the time the topic or question was initially posted). These statistic blocks support time period filter, time period comparisons, and node filtering to narrow down the statistical data for your specific needs. User profile enhancements User profiles now show the number of solutions the user has posted, and also allows you to view all of those solutions, in a manner very similar to reputation. Prolific problem solvers will now be called out boldly Answers can be quickly found on user profiles These improvements should help reward the most helpful users on your community by giving them more prestige and helping other users find their answers quicker. Collectively, we hope that these changes make the question and answer and topic solution features in the Forums application more useful for your community members, and the administrators behind the community.

    SD Sales Portal Pro

    As you may now Spanner, the creator of this app passed away on a motorcycle accident. Since then IPB removed this from Marketplace. My community rely on this as it is a major component for us.A month ago while i was preparing for 4.5 upgrade i saw that it was not available so i open a case with IPB. It was pointed to me that the App was removed from market place but when i upgrade to 4.5.x i can update it via ACP/Marketplace integration. So i upgraded today i tried to update SD Sales and failed, i opened a case and IPB replied that it is no longer available!This is totally unacceptable since it is an app bought via MArketplace and with a valid support till April 2021. I do not want a new development or a bug fix, i simply want the latest tar updated in August which supports 4.5.x simple as that. So please if anyone has it please send it to me.

  8. Our users complain about relative dates again and again. The main issue they have: they do not want to calculate how many hours ago is yesterday. They would like to differ between posts made today and yesterday. So they need clean statement today, 11:23 or yesterday, 23:43. At the moment if they see something like 19 hours ago they must work out if today is already longer as 19 hours then the post is from today. Otherwise from yesterday. A lot of our users wish to see what content has been published "TODAY". Can you please consider to change the logic of f_hours and f_hours_short to figure out whether the post has been made today or yesterday and print out the words instead of X hours ago?

    Custom Emoticons

    Any image can be uploaded as an emoticon. I would recommend using your google-fu to find free emoticon packs that you can download. The x2 is for when you have a larger High quality version of it to be used on specific HD screens. If you don't have it, its fine, it will use the other one.

  10. Its not terribly small to me! Add the below code in custom.css template and the size of your logo becomes your uploaded image size. #elSiteTitle,#elLogo {height: auto;}

  11. 1) Good feedback. 2) Probably, yeah. 3) It's core functionality; right now it works with Forums and Pages.

  12. If you want to implement protections, you should be able to set up IP address restrictions in Google's developer console as I recall, and then set the IP address/IP address range of your server.

    (DP45) Guest View Limits

    Unfortunatelly IPS won't allow me to add it as a widget (due to cache issues etc.) so I'm thinking about other way how to display it properly.

  15. Not sure if anyone already posted about this, but I'd like to point out some issues with Members Shop and Downloads and request a fix. 1. If you have files set to where they can be purchased with points from Members Shop, when you visit a page for a file in the Downloads section, even if you don't have enough points to download the file, or even if you have 0 points, the button still says 'Download this file'. Is there any way that the button could show different text, or even a red button if they don't have enough points to download the file to begin with? 2. If someone does not have enough points to download a file, but they still click the 'Download this file' button, they will see my terms that I wrote first, then they click the 'Agree & Download' button, then they get the message 'You don't have enough Points to download this file'. So if something can be done, as I mentioned in 1., then this would save from people getting frustrated from having gone through those steps. ALSO, even though they weren't able to download the file, under File Information on the file's page, it still counts it as a download. So the 'Downloads' count increases even though they didn't actually download the file. As a test, I got to the 'You don't have enough Points to download this file'. page, I kept refreshing that page, and it counted each time as download. Now I want to try and figure out how to hide the 'Downloads' part under 'File Information' since it severely incorrect. If anyone know how to do this, please let me know. Thank you.

  16. Good idea! 🙂 In my case, I would use it but only for chosen forums [not globally]. For forums like news, feedback, contacting the mods I find it useful. But for Chit-Chat-like forum it would be unnecessary. Thanksfully we can set in CSS where to display the badge and where to hide it. 🙂

    With this application administrator can add the game servers, voice servers to table with servers, server list can be placed on each page as widget. The Marketplace is a service. While you are of course acquiring third party resources, you are not obtaining them directly from third party authors and it is really no different than other app stores. Your transaction is conducted through IPS and the Marketplace is a remote service. The point here is just to dispel the silly notion that we're in "breach of contract." The EULA makes clear the fact that a renewal is required for all updates, services, etc. To provide further clarification, an expired license does not shut off the software and you may continue its use in an "as-is" state (at time of expiration), but it does effectively render both the license and status as a customer as inactive. It is no secret that our company is based on the recurring investment model, so while we don't want anyone to feel held hostage to renewals and we try to reasonably accommodate all customers past and present, our decisions and prioritization of goals will ultimately be in the interest of those continuing along side of us, sharing our overall vision. With all of that said, this topic has been discussed several times and ultimately, the Marketplace was moved to the AdminCP for what I hope are obvious reasons. A significantly improved and smooth experience for the majority of customers who want a point-and-click experience, consistent with most non-classic "forum" platforms. We want to take every reasonable measure possible to ensure that when you click to install something from the Marketplace, it will be a successful and safe experience for you. We've tightened the framework around that to ensure you're notified with seamless updates from authors and anything installed through the Marketplace framework has been reasonably reviewed by us. We made the decision to disallow manual downloads from the Marketplace as it is entirely counterproductive to the goal we set out to achieve in the first place. I want to stress that you are welcome to contact an author for manual file provisions if you would like and we do not prohibit them from providing it. You may also purchase from some authors directly if you wish. The only caveat for both cases is, you would use the manual (old) framework to install and update these resources manually. A warning will also be generated because these are untested files - similar to Mac and Windows. Beyond that, we're not standing in your way of using the "old school" way - we are just not facilitating it as again, it is counterproductive to our goal of something that resembles more of a proper app store and not just a repository of "files." I'm sorry for the disappointment to those find the previous method to work better for them. As you know, we try to take on board as much feedback as we can - after all, there's no point to any of this without customers. Nonetheless, while we've heard the feedback loud and clear, we do not intend on reversing course on downloads or policy changes, so at this juncture, I would very respectfully ask that we move on to other, more actionable feedback items. Thank you as always for your continued business.
