  2. As the deadline slowly comes down, two last feature additions race towards the descending door and slide in underneath with seconds to spare. If you've never seen "Raiders of the Lost Ark", then you probably think this is a weird way to start a blog. As we wrap up development for Invision Community 4.5, we squeezed in two extra features that I want to talk about today. Per Topic Post Approval The first is a way to cool down a heated topic without locking it. Right now you can put an entire forum on post-approval. This means that moderators must review and approve all new post

  3. I can guarantee that most of those other "duplicate" language strings are for jslang. @Sonya* Add "word_js=0" (or "word_js=1") to your query, and then see if you have any duplicates. Some strings do indeed have the same key, but that's only because one of them is for javascript. Maybe there should have been something in the translation table to highlight that, similar to the app/plugin column.

  4. BTW, for all 3rd party devs... This was implemented as a MetaData extension, meaning that you can utilise the feature in any of your apps 🙂

  8. Are these blocks widgets? If so, you can control the update time on setting in your ACP. Our Picks isn’t instantly too. It uses a task but it runs at every 5 minutes, if I recall.

@Makoto is offering to help @BankFodder It is not a big expense the application especially for the amount of work and effort makoto has put into it. Most apps on Invision are more of a hobby than anything so if you have a mission critical site then you probably need to be using mission critical software and have a team of in house coders. Just because your site doesn't work properly for how you use it doesn't mean the app is broken. As makoto has said it is probably due to your previous ACP install.

  10. Already used it! Thanks! Works great. My suggestion would be to auto-fill the email address with something like the site’s “Incoming email address” so it doesn’t have to be typed in again over and over again.

  12. You should be doing it the other way around. Remove the 150 posts rule and instead use the group promotion system to push members with 150 posts into your existing secondary group. That should solve it.

  16. Hi, it would be great if in the next version of the software Paypal Smart Payment Buttons can be integrated instead of the old Paypal Checkout. Link https://developer.paypal.com/docs/checkout/ The very big advantage of using, the now default, Paypal Smart Payment Buttons over the old Paypal Checkout is that with the buttons many local country payment options are integrated in the Paypal checkout. In the old Paypal Checkout customers can only pay through either their Paypal account or a debit/credit card. Credit card payments only take up about 20% of al

I've literally replied to you within minutes asking you to provide me with login credentials so I can look into the issue and have it resolved for you and you refuse while simulataneously saying I'm offering you no support. I'm not sure how me asking you to just let me access your installation so I can fix the issue for you is too much effort, but if that's the way you feel I can't do anything about it. However, it does not mean I am not providing support. The only reason you're not getting support is because you're refusing to let me offer it. My offer still stands. If you want help

This application has 52 clients that are using the application without issue. I do extensive testing on every release and do everything in my power to ensure it is stable with each and every release. The issue you are experiencing is likely server specific or a conflict with another third-party application. The application is not buggy for most all clients, I am sorry you are personally experiencing issues. I offered to look into the issue for you and resolve whatever issues you were experiencing. I would have had this done for you the next day, but as my city was literally nearly bu

Hi @BankFodder I am sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I am currently in one of the cities across the U.S. that has seen increased levels of violence, rioting, and looting as of this weekend, so have been unable to do much work out of fear for my own safety. I am happy to look into the issues you were experiencing as mentioned above and will get them resolved for you, but I cannot provide a refund for the application.

  20. We started talking about Invision Community 4.5 way back in November of last year. Now, less than six months later, it's ready for you to test. While we put the finishing touches to a few features, we have set up a preview site so you can test out the new features, leave your feedback and make a note of any bugs you spot. Head over now to the Invision Community Alpha test site. Please be aware that this test site is running in 'development mode' so it is automatically updated with the latest fixes throughout the day. This means it has to work extra hard on each click as there ar

  21. This entry is about our IPS Community Suite 4.2 release. IPS Community Suite has long had a reputation system; first we had a simple up/down system, later updated to introduce a Likes system as an alternative. Whichever system you chose to use, it tied in with our reputation system. We're pleased to introduce the latest updates to the reputation system, and it's something that has been requested for quite some time: Reactions. Quite simply, reactions allow users to offer more fine-grained sentiments towards content than a simple up/down or 'like'. They are now in common usage on

    4.5: ACP Dark Mode

A short while ago we revealed the new look Admin CP for Invision Community 4.5. The focus was on increasing the workspace, brightening and modernising the look. However, for some this new look was perhaps a little too bright, especially when setting your OS to use dark mode. Rather than cause an increase in sales for sunglasses, we went ahead and implemented a dark mode for the Admin CP. You can set it to work inline with your OS preference, or you can choose to enforce light or dark mode. I'm sure the next question you're about to ask is "Hey Ehren that looks ama

  23. I have about 1/2 million members in "My community" across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and my invision community. I understand "communities" trust me. But the frustrating part is... Invision Community doesn't offer the TOOLS to allow me to SEGREGATE my communities. I am no longer in the mood to try to build up another top 1,000 URL in the world... I just want software where Atheists and Christians and everyone in between can coexist without stepping all over each other. Clubs came close.... but recirculation failed us. Thank god this is my hobby and not my living....
