  5. Agreed - we avoid making large changes to the frontend on the whole (save for new features, which necessitate updates by their nature). The downside of that of course is running the risk of appearing outdated, or not being able to employ newer techniques/technologies. It's a balance between competing concerns as always. 4.3 and 4.4 didn't have any substantial changes, so we feel 4.5 is the right time for a moderate refresh, saving a much bigger update for a future (major) version.

  6. I outlined the justification for moving links out of that top area in the entry - it allows us to display comment states much more effectively and simplifies the comment area. No ad slots have disappeared, and our last substantial design improvement was ~3 years ago - it's well overdue.

I dabble 🙂 I don't do videos, but I can write tutorials if there is anything in particular you would like me to write about. @Matt @bfarber Do you think it would be possible to allow creation of blocks that contain widget areas for the purpose of creating building blocks rather than content blocks? I know the way Widgets work right now is a bit restricted in that regards, but maybe that could change a bit in the future?

Yikes been using this for almost a year now and forgot to review it! This is by far one of my favorite apps to use. No bugs, no issues and works like a charm. If you are trying to build your community or even give back to your members this is a must have. Thank you Adriano for making this!

  9. Great work as always IPS. Love the focus on mobile, this is very important, as more and more people are visiting our forums on mobile these days. -------------------------------- This stands out to me: Is it possible to have the Follow text centered, even if the following count was in the thousands, there should still be enough room to keep the Follow text centered. I was going to say also isn't possible to put the < Go To Topic Listing and the Next unread topic > on the same line? But would there be a circumstance where there would be more words for either, which I would then

  12. This all looks amazing and so much neater, but there is one thing that really bugs me a lot - it's probably the designer in me - is the inconsistency of the side bar top alignment; see below: The gap between the top of the sidebar and the topic header. Yet here it is aligned perfectly: I presume there is a reason for this, or is it an oversight? I don't mean to be picky as you've done a fantastic job on the update, but this one little niggle is a bug for me lol

Show a legend of your groups in the Who's Online and Recently Browsing widgets, sorted in the order you specify and linked to the search system. Handy so that people know what those group prefixes and suffixes mean. You choose which groups appear in the legend, and the order they will appear in, with the plugin settings in the ACP. Group links will carry any group formatting (colors, etc.) you may have set. Clicking the entries in the legend takes users to a list of all members with that group designation. Version 6 is for Invision Community 4.5 and above. Tweaks the &q appe

  21. Hey, Thank you for releasing the new fix. Medal issue is now fixed and I am receiving notifications when awarded a medal. I wanted to ask if its possible to add a setting to send an Automatic PM when medal is awarded just like with Trophies? I really like this idea and this is something all the other developers can do as well. There should be a request feature list or an online notepad which anyone can access and edit and people can put in their suggestions and others can add to it or edit it to refine it. After that the developer can see what features can he add and go on from th

    Tag a user group

It would be cool if we could tag usergroups like you can with individual users so everyone in that usergroup gets a notification of that post. Perhaps have it so only certain groups can do this, as I can imagine it could be abused if everyone has access. It would be handy as an Admin to @subscribers in posts for them for example, like subscriber only contests or info.

    Raffles System

It has just been a week since I started using it. The app does a decent job and the adoption by users is quick. A few things could be changed here and there to make it more useful but depending on what you are using it for, it is a great app overall and has a lot more potential in the future. Thank you 😄

I think what is missing are containers. In theory all you need is a few full width widget areas and then a system of containers and modules (blocks). This way I can add a container that have a 70/30 split in the columns to get content and sidebar. I can add a 3 column block inside the content container and then a 2+1 column block inside one of the 3 column containers...and so on. Right now you only have blocks so you have to hardcode the content, while a container + modules system would basically give you total freedom to create and use the pages widget system any way you can im

  36. We used something similar in my vbulletin days. It was a plugin that allowed us to group tags (synonyms). LOVED IT. Even if they started small (with tags first) ... it will still be a HUGE win for us. I'm guessing Taxonomies will be available in IPS 5.0.

  38. Yes. Yes, it comes with a PDF guide explaining the installation and configuration. BUT: This product is just a template set changing the visual output of Pages blocks. It won’t explain Pages. It is highly recommended that users of this product already have experience in setting up Pages blocks.

As I started watching the video, I laughed and my eyes watered at the same time. Why? Excitement! It's truly hard to fully compete with the likes of Elementor, Divi, or even WPBakery, but it's not impossible. You guys are definitely headed in the right direction. I was just going to ask, if it's possible to have 2 or 3 blocks side by side, so I can place images in each block, then I saw your comment ... If I wanted just the top row to have 3 columns, then underneath that, 1 column, then under that, 2 columns, is that possible? If not, being able to customize the layout of a p

However after I decided to make it anyway I got the answer I was expecting - that my license was inactive and then I posted the topic here. 43. Would you also agree that this would be an incredible feature to have built in to the forum? I think it would be amazing. Such a small but significant feature would make a big difference. I really get worried of the idea of having to install so many plugins knowing at any moment the developer could decide to stop supporting or updating the plugin, not to mention the possibilities of plugins conflicting with each other and causing errors and breaking the forums functionality. I do hope one day this feature gets added by IPS.

    4.5: Search Insights

Every single day, your members are searching your community for answers or interesting conversations to join. Wouldn't it be great if you could learn what is being searched for to identify hot issues, commonly asked questions and discover trends? We thought so too, which is why Invision Community 4.5 comes with search statistics. For the first time, Invision Community gathers anonymized information on what your members are searching for so you can use this to highlight more relevant content and shape strategic decisions with your community's structure. Tags in Pages

Pages is a great built-in tool that allows the creation of Landing Pages. But, it lacks the tagging feature. Yes, tagging is available in Pages > Databases but not Pages. Tagging is great for content discovery. The idea behind this is to allow admins to tag the page within Pages.

@Joel R I love PAGES + database. I use it to create directories. eg. Site Center, etc. When we use PAGES + database it creates issues that we shouldn't have to bother with for standalone landing pages. (no organization needed) eg. URL subdirectory that is not needed (domain.com/database/record), index of PAGES database being found, customizing templates to fit all landing pages, etc. What this provides me is the following: Ease of use Control over SEO urls (no Pages database subdirectory) Freedom to build pages without the suite wrapper (header/footer)
