    Photo Competition

    Version 1.2.7

    77 downloads

Photo Competition is the number one application for increasing engagement on your community and is suitable for almost all community types. Competitions can be scheduled automatically on a weekly or monthly basis or you can set specific start and end times. You can also run multiple competitions simultaneously. Engagement All entries support voting, sharing to social media and rankings. The app supports commenting and post before register so visitors can register as part of the competition entry process. First, second and third places are permanently recorded in the previous winner's hall of fame. Users can optionally be notified when their entries receive a vote using the default Invision Community notifications feature. Includes a current leaders block that can be added to other pages in your community. Moderation Options Entries can be hidden, locked, edited or deleted by moderators and a full moderation history is kept. Users can report images to prevent abuse. Other The app is fully language abstracted and contains a section for adding rules and introductory text. Use this section to describe your photo theme if you have one. Optionally limit the number of entries per competition and the number of entries members are allowed to vote on.

    Age Verification

@Ryan Ashbrook: Apparently not, just ticking a box saying that you're over 18 or writing in a D.o.B field that you're over 18 is no longer sufficient. It'd apparently require an actual age verification thing. More information can be found via a Google search but here's an article on it from late last year.

Unfortunately, sending notifications from clubs is not yet possible. However, we will surely consider such feature while working on future updates 🙂

Without being able to view the environment the only thing I can think of is you might not have the PHP Internationalisation extension installed. If you don't have that then install it and re-run the task. In 1.1 I have removed this requirement and added a fallback. I'm working on 1.1 and would like to get some thoughts from a few people on the subject of SEO. On the sites I have seen using this so far, most of the content aside from the image is imo "thin". Comments such as "great photo", emoji etc. Currently, I'm planning to add structured markup similar to the Gallery application as that is essentially what it is with each competition being a separate gallery. I would like to here people's thoughts on this though to see what people think should be no-indexed, no-followed etc if anything?

    Power Tools

    Version 1.0.1

    15 downloads

Power Tools Introduction Power Tools is a third party command line utility for Invision Power Suite developers. It aims to aid in development by packaging several useful command line script and applications together in one easy to use application. ☕ Found this useful? Want to support further development? Show your support by buying me a coffee!- https://ko-fi.com/makoto_dev Installation If you are on Linux, there is an optional executable included in the release package which you can extract and copy to /usr/local/bin for convenience. Otherwise, just extract the included ptools.phar file to the directory of your IPS installation. Then, from your terminal window, navigate to the applications directory and run ptools.phar as you would any other PHP script from the command line, $ php ptools.phar Power Tools version 1.0.1 Usage: command [options] [arguments] Options: -h, --help Display this help message -q, --quiet Do not output any message -V, --version Display this application version --ansi Force ANSI output --no-ansi Disable ANSI output -n, --no-interaction Do not ask any interactive question -v|vv|vvv, --verbose Increase the verbosity of messages: 1 for normal output, 2 for more verbose output and 3 for debug Available commands: classmap Generate a map of error codes for classes in an IPS application help Displays help for a command list Lists commands tinker Launches an interactive shell interpreter for an IPS installation generate generate:activerecord Generates an Active Record boilerplate class generate:content-comment Generates a Content Comment boilerplate class generate:content-item Generates a Content Item boilerplate class generate:content-node Generates a Content Node boilerplate class proxy proxy:regen (Re)generates all proxy classes for the application Features Tinker Tinker is one of Power Tools most.. well, powerful features! The name tinker was inspired by Laravel's own "tinker" command, and it essentially operates in the same manner. Both are powered by PsySH, an application that provides an extremely powerful PHP REPL for your applications. Stop making your life difficult by executing arbitrary code in random modules for testing, or worse yet, actually trying to use the native PHP CLI interpreter. Need to test if your Item class is working correctly? Just pop into the REPL and give it a whirl! Everything in the tinker shell essentially works as your application does when run through the web browser. You can even get documentation on class methods right from within the interpreter, PsySh is a truly awesome tool. To learn more about it and all the features it offers you, check it out on PsySh.org. Proxy Classes Due to IPS 4.x's monkey-patching based framework, several useful features of your IDE will be rendered non-functional (suggestions, code completion, etc). This command generates proxy classes for your your IDE (including support for 3rd-party applications), so it will be able to properly reference IPS' classes regardless of monkey-patching. The proxy class generator can even automagically generate property mappings to all your database columns! Class Generators Power Tools comes with several powerful and fully featured class generators for IPS Nodes, Items, Comments and generic Active Record classes. These generators take care of all the necessary boilerplate for you automatically. For example, generating a new Content Item class is as simple as running a single command and following the on-screen input prompts: <?php namespace IPS\induction\Test; /* To prevent PHP errors (extending class does not exist) revealing path */ if ( !defined( '\IPS\SUITE_UNIQUE_KEY' ) ) { header( ( isset( $_SERVER[ 'SERVER_PROTOCOL' ] ) ? $_SERVER[ 'SERVER_PROTOCOL' ] : 'HTTP/1.0' ) . ' 403 Forbidden' ); exit; } class _Item extends \IPS\Content\Item { /** * @brief Application */ public static $application = 'induction'; /** * @brief Module */ public static $module = 'induction'; /** * @brief Database Table */ public static $databaseTable = 'induction_items'; /** * @brief Database Prefix */ public static $databasePrefix = ''; /** * @brief Multiton Store */ protected static $multitons; /** * @brief [ActiveRecord] ID Database Column */ public static $databaseColumnId = 'id'; /** * @brief Default Values */ protected static $defaultValues = NULL; /** * @brief Node Class */ public static $containerNodeClass = NULL; /** * @brief Comment Class */ public static $commentClass = NULL; /** * @brief Review Class */ public static $reviewClass = NULL; /** * @brief Database Column Map */ public static $databaseColumnMap = array( 'container' => 'category_id', 'author' => 'author_id', 'views' => 'views', 'title' => 'title', 'content' => 'content', 'num_comments' => 'num_comments', 'last_comment' => 'last_comment', 'last_comment_by' => 'last_comment_by', 'last_comment_name' => 'last_comment_name', 'last_review' => 'last_review', 'date' => 'date', 'updated' => 'updated', 'approved' => 'approved', 'approved_by' => 'approved_by', 'approved_date' => 'approved_date', 'pinned' => 'pinned', 'featured' => 'featured', 'locked' => 'locked', 'ip_address' => 'ipaddress' ); /** * @brief Title */ public static $title = NULL; /** * @brief Icon */ public static $icon = 'file'; /** * @brief [Content] Key for hide reasons */ public static $hideLogKey = NULL; /** * @brief Form Lang Prefix */ public static $formLangPrefix = 'induction_'; /** * @brief Reputation Type */ public static $reputationType = 'id'; } Class Mapping The classmap command maps unique ID numbers to your applications class files. These ID numbers are then stored and maintained for use in error codes. By maintaining and actively using a proper error code scheme, you can easily and transparently map the location of errors that are triggered in production. This application is available under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. I welcome developers to extend and enhance this tool as they wish, but please make sure you understand the licensing requirements before doing so.

    Mobile app, still...

I came across these blog entries... and previously by Charles... From what I gather the primary reason that the IPS app did not succeed was the lack of a "proficient mobile app development team". That was then. Maybe the timing at that time wasn't right? Jumping onto the latest and greatest doesn't always deliver desired results in a shifting market. 2019 is a whole different world now and how people use their phones and tablets have changed a lot. Attempting a mobile app now doesn't have to be re-tracing the steps of yesterday. A different time poses a different approach. I guess the question is whether it's worth the time and resources...Again?

Punch up those member hovercards! Full-panel backgrounds! Joined and last visited times front and center! Text color changes based on online, offline status - anonymous members are accounted for too! New "Yearbook Quote" feature! Let your members flash some personality and drive member engagement! Profile Fields available for use on the hovercard! Can disable the hover feature and turn it into a click feature - makes these cards available to tablet and phone users! This mod swaps out the usual member hovercard for a new template; one that emphasizes appearance and personality instead of just dumping profile information in a list which they can get by just visiting the member's profile anyways. The screenshots tell all! What's there? Joined Date, Last Visited (color changed based on online/offline status), Name, Primary Member Group (colored if group colors have been set), Yearbook Quote, Reputation, Content Count (as posts) Where's that image coming from? That's the member's coverphoto! If they don't have one the Invision Community default profile background stuff is used. New Yearbook Quote Feature? Although I debated sticking in a member's status update as the centered text, there are too many reasons not to, including not everyone is using status updates, often times those updates are throw-away notes about nothing, updated rarely, and so on. With a specific quote feature your members have the opportunity to flash some personality - be it describing themselves, Tinder-like blurbs, using a quote from a movie or video game, and so on. Why not use the About Me feature from the profile? That's a full editor field - images and lots of other things can go in there. This is meant to be simple and direct. Can I change that name to something else instead of Yearbook Quote? Yep! In settings. Hoverboard Quote, Hovercard Quote, Quote, Say Something, Tinder Blurb, whatever... Call it what you want! Is this stuff also on the profile pages? Yes - it's also where they add/edit it. Click the gear icon to have at it. Can I use the Yearbook Quote feature but not the new fancy hovercards? Sure. You can toggle on/off the use of the new hovercards in settings. To completely disable everything just toggle the plugin off in the ACP. Other settings? Limit the quote length from the old Twitter limit of 120 characters up to 1024 characters. The last visited text has color applied to it when the user is online, configure the color here. Some translatable strings. Profile Fields Too? You bet! Select which ones to pass through to the template (admin-only and editor fields excluded at the moment). See the support topic for how to customize the display of these. What are "Click Cards"? You can actually disable the hover functionality of these member hovercards. When you do that, users will need to click the member avatar to trigger the display of the card. When the cards are set to hover-mode, they appear when the mouse cursor hovers over a member avatar and these will, since it is a mouse hover action, only appear to desktop users - tablet and phone users never see these cards. When you toggle the cards to click functionality that covers tapping and thse will now display to tablet and phone users just fine. This is a usability decision to be made by you and you alone. If you ask for my opinion I'd consider how many of my visitors are tablet/phone based before enabling this feature. If you have more mobile than desktop, go for it! You can always turn this off later. Version 5 adds the ability to apply this functionality to the user names as well. Moderation? Of course. If a member has not entered a quote yet, the box will appear only that member and no one else (mods and admins included), with text telling that member to add a quote. Once a quote is entered, the quote will appear to everyone AND mods and admins will have to power to also edit those quotes. Mod permission is being able to edit profiles, if a mod has that, they can edit these. And yes, mod/admin actions on these items will appear in the Moderators Log in case you have some mods/admins deciding to mess with people instead of actually correctly moderating inappropriate content (whatever that is for your community...) Anything in the ACP? Other than the plugin settings and entries in the Moderators Log, no, nothing in the ACP Member view or anything like that. All moderation takes place on a member's profile page in the Yearbook Quote block. If you have a member who continually abuses this quote feature by inputting stuff you don't want, the solution isn't adding more permissions to disable this feature on a member by member basis - the solution is to ban the member. Anonymous Users? Yes, accounted for. The Last Visited text will always say yesterday (if consensus is to change it to something else I can do that in a later version) and it will never have the online colors applied. Anon users can browse with little worry of being "found out". Customs Available? Sure! Some communities may want some community-specific information to appear on the hovercard. Not a problem. Expect to pay a (nominal one time fee) if it is something that can benefit all users of this mod in which case you are sponsoring a new feature for everyone (and paying to get it done now instead waiting for me to get around to it) or a (nominal one-time fee X 2) for a mod specific to your community only, provided it is doable. What's next? I have another template in mind but I wanted to get what I thought was the best out in the open first. Have an integration or two as well bubbling about. That's for later though. Notes If you have other mods that push something to the member hovercards there is probably a 100% chance that this mod will not accommodate them as it is an entirely new template. 4.3 compatible - maybe 4.2 but have not tested. License/SupportSupport available for the time being in the IPS Marketplace topic. You are allowed to use this, after purchasing a license and downloading this from the IPS Marketplace, on one live site and any test/dev sites you have. Additional live sites require additional license purchases. Renewals (per purchase) entitle you to updated versions and ongoing support. Support is limited to the default IPS theme and is for IPS license holders current on the application/plugin renewals (with a generous grace period). I'll give a hand, time permitting, to help you figure out what is wrong with your custom theme if there is a conflict but fixes in those cases will need to be made by your theme provider. Hi Guys IPB is awesome and far better than any other forum software available in market. IPB team working very hard to implement new feature every month i appreciate their hard work But now in smartphone world everyone is using mobile devices that have apps to access their favorite content. people don't like first open browser, then type url and then type username, password. Mobile friendly websites are no longer a solution. Forums are facing competition from Telegram groups, discord server, Facebook Groups, Whatsapp Group @Charles PLEASE HELP US !!!!! I know it is very difficult to maintain native app. so Now companies use hybrid approach to cut cost for mobile app. It would be great if IPB team develop the in house Progressive Web app for IPB. IPB theme already mobile friendly so every little to do Just need to implement 1. Service- worker for Offline uses 2. Push Notification for Notifications 3. Login and signup screen (that remember the user name and password) Here some Key Benefits Of PWA over Native App IPB4 team already have brilliant javascript developers. I think it would not too difficult for them to do this. I would like to Pay for this feature separately if it will be developed. It would be Milestone for IPB 4 as compared to other forums software. Others IPB members if you are agree please vote this feature as much you can and share your's feed back too and don't Forget to Participate in Above Poll Question Companies Using PWA!! PWA is not just another Buzz word, PWA again transferring the power back to Web Developers which was lost during native mobile app era. I think REST API based apps for IPB not right approach, From developers point of views, it will make mobile apps hard to maintain and compatible with every new version of IPB and updates of hundered of IPB plugins. However PWA just uses Mobile Responsive of Website. Forums Founders spent both Time and money to make his/her community sustainable. sometime new users like the forums but forget url and browser history deleted,at that time website looses one member ? this same things happened with me many times and may be other members share the same experience. For iOS users or Android users there is more chances, new users of clients Forum website click on App icons (Installed by PWA ) again than open browser inside the mobile, remember the website URL and hit the enter. No matter whether PWA support push notifications for particular mobile os or not :) PWA fully supported in Window 10 redstone 4. We can't ignore the billions machine running window 10. Window 10 PWA app would be huge opportunity to keep the website users engage with website. Just imagine clients Forums apps are installed on users PC. Even They don't open browser and enter forum URL, with single push notification you can make users again engage to your website ? More and more adopting the window 10 This is my humble request to IPB team please please develop in house mobile app for IPB others wise our communities websites will loose the competition in mobile app age. THANKS :)

Adjust mobile design: Then create the progressive web app (PWA) with common requirements: My community is begging for an app, and I already lost ~60% of member traffic to Facebook and WhatsApp. Why? Not because my content isn't good enough anymore, but my members use my contents, and afterwards, go on with live messaging/meetings (which is an elemental part in my industry) via Facebook and WhatsApp and I lose control. I can do nothing against it. My competitors don't have contents, but they have active Facebook and WhatsApp groups. The FB/WA messaging functions are way better, and my users require an app icon to remember my site as well as push notifications to their mobiles. Not having an app is blocking my success factors extremely. I'm already considering buying an app development for my WordPress pages (which seems to be cheaper as many developers already did it for the WP platform...), but that would be the point to lose the power an IPS app would have. I'd prefer an IPS app, but I don't have ages to wait for one. We need to speed up any arrangement. I'd be willing to pay, too!!!

I'd really like to see an option for Questions forums that'd let us hide this block: Popular questions from the past month Questions with no best answer When I put these into our Archive read-only forum (finished AMAs), this block serves no practical purpose. It's just taking up space. I know I can hide it with some convoluted CSS lines, but that feels sloppy. I think this should be an option.
